Here's a piece of a news article about the dangers in Sudan:

Prendergast warned that Sudan could be on the verge of another "ethnic cleansing" campaign like the ones "that the regime has pursued in the Nuba Mountains, Darfur, Abyei, and parts of South Sudan."

If and when he goes I think we'll all be praying for his safe return.

Mel, I'm pretty sure he and John will have the best security possible. Still, it's a dangerous place for them.

I remember a video a while back when a little girl was pulling on his finger and asking when they're coming back. He said "soon" and she said "you always say that." I think he remembers that because he said in a later video "I'm going to get that girl."

I remember that Cindi. The only thing is I think she was in Darfur and they'll be in South Sudan. I truly hope that she is alright.

Mel, Is South Sudan near Abyei? Abyrei seemed to be his main focus in January.

I think it's the capital of South Sudan Cindi. Or at least the biggest city or village or the main focal point. Sorry, I get confused with all those names.

Cindi, Abeyi is the main city on the border where the country is about to split. I think this city has all the goodies but not the know how/cash to extract it from the ground, where as the other side has all the cash and equipment but won't want to share unless they can bag a chunk of the wealth, kind of bewteen a rock & a hard place. Not somewhere I think Gee should be, but then again his profile is so strong, the less fortunate would really benefit from his being there, likewise, if he doesn't try we'll never know. Lets hope he will be be safe there and come back to us.

South Sudan becomes independent on July 9th. So I'm pretty sure he'd want to be there by then, if not before.

I agree! He and John P worked so hard on the South Sudanese behalf (along with alot of others). They were there for the voting, they will be there for Independance Day. ALOT of people, press, UN, ect will be there, too.
