George in new documentary about the Carlyle Hotel
Some famous types show up in the documentary about the Carlyle Hotel coming out this spring. There’s a trailer here ...

You can get a ‘superior’ room starting at the bargain basement price of $475 a night. Not bad, especially if George stayed in it

Haha! Somehow don't think George was staying in their entry category room type (that's luxury hotel speak for 'cheapest').

Since it opened in 1931, the Carlyle hotel on Manhattan's Upper East Side has been a magnet for the world's most discerning travelers as well as a destination for in-the-know locals who flock to the hotel's Café Carlyle (which boasts live music from a rotating cast of bold-faced names) or Bemelmans Bar to soak up some of the city's most alluring atmosphere.
Now, the hotel—which has long been famous for its discretion—is letting down its guard just a bit thanks to a new documentary, Always at the Carlyle, by filmmaker Matthew Miele (he also made Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's).

The film features behind-the-scenes looks at how the hotel operates, including can't-miss interviews with a group of charming and unforgettable staffers, and interviews with some of its most famous guests, including Sofia Coppola, Lenny Kravitz, Wes Anderson, and Anjelica Huston, about what makes the hotel so very special.
Here, T&C has the first look at Miele's trailer for the film, due out this spring, as well as a peek at the poster and its hand-drawn work by artist Kera Till.
