Yep. No pix...didn’t happen.  Trump’s 2019 budget also includes slashes to mental health services.  How does he square his actions with his words.  Beyond hypocrisy.  What should we call it???

There is a story in ‘The New Yorker’ by Rowan Farrow about another affair Trump had while married to Melania and how it was covered up....

Mueller grand jury indicts 13 Russians and infamous 'troll factory' for interfering with 2016 election by 'supporting' Trump and 'disparaging Hillary Clinton' – but Justice Department doesn't charge 'collusion'

 • Indictment says Russia-run 'Internet Research Agency' employees set up fake Facebook groups and Twitter accounts to support Trump and oppose Clinton

 • No allegation is made of a conspiracy or collusion that includes the Trump campaign itself

 •  'There is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant in this illegal activity,' Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein said Friday

 • Also cautioned that 'there is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election'

 • Trump tweeted victory: 'The Trump campaign did nothing wrong – no collusion!'

 • Rosenstein said the goal was 'spreading distrust toward the candidates and the political system in general'

 • U.S. has had 'no communication with Russia' ahead of time before leveling what will be seen as a slap at Vladimir Putin

A federal grand jury in Washington has indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian organizations, charging that they interfered with the 2016 U.S. presidential election in a way that benefited President Donald Trump.
But U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told reporters that the Justice Department is not making any claims that the Trump campaign was involved or had any knowledge of the plot.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office made the stunning announcement on Friday, saying that the defendants laid the groundwork for targeting U.S. elections in 2014 – and that by mid-2016 they were actively 'supporting the presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald J. Trump ... and disparaging Hillary Clinton.'
But Rosenstein said the indictment does not allege a conspiracy or collusion between the defendants and the Trump campaign.

'There is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant in this illegal activity,' he said, adding that 'there is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election.'
Two hours later as President Trump was leaving Washington for the weekend, he drove that point home on Twitter, writing: 'Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President. The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong – no collusion!'

Trump showed reporters a thumbs-up but didn't answer questions as he walked to Marine One on the South Lawn of the White House on Friday afternoon
Minutes later the White House issued a longer victory-lap statement.
Trump, it said, 'has been fully briefed on this matter and is glad to see the Special Counsel's investigation further indicates — that there was NO COLLUSION between the Trump campaign and Russia and that the outcome of the election was not changed or affected.'
Trump said in the statement that 'it is more important than ever before to come together as Americans. We cannot allow those seeking to sow confusion, discord, and rancor to be successful.'
'It's time we stop the outlandish partisan attacks, wild and false allegations, and far-fetched theories, which only serve to further the agendas of bad actors, like Russia, and do nothing to protect the principles of our institutions. We must unite as Americans to protect the integrity of our democracy and our elections.'
Rosenstein said the Russian defendants engaged in 'what they called "information warfare against the United States," with the stated goal of spreading distrust toward the candidates and the political system in general.'
The 'Internet Research Agency,' an infamous Russian Internet troll factory, is at the center of the allegations.
Founder Evgeny Prigozhin, a Russian Oligarch and shadowy businessman known as 'Putin's chef,' is among the named defendants. Rosenstein said he funded it through two other companies.

This Instagram ad placed by Russians referred to 'Killary Clinton' in the context of the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya
Rosenstein said Moscow was not notified in advance that Prigozhin was being investigated, or that indictments were forthcoming – a suggestion that the Justice Department is delivering a slap to Putin from 4,800 miles away.
'We've had no communication with the Russians about this. We'll follow the ordinary process of seeking cooperation and extradition,' he said.
Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse said after Rosenstein's press conference that Mueller had 'just put Moscow on notice.'
'This ought to be a wakeup call to Washington: Putin’s shadow war is aimed at undermining Americans' trust in our institutions. We know Russia is coming back in 2018 and 2020 – we have to take this threat seriously.'
The indictment says Prigozhin's organization 'sought, in part, to conduct what it called "information warfare against the United States of America" through fictitious U.S. personas on social media platforms and other Internet-based media.'

In this message placed on a phony religious Facebook group, Trump-versus-Clinton is described as a battle between Jesus and Satan
'By in or around May 2014, the organization's strategy included interfering with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, with the stated goal of "spread[ing] distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general",' according to the indictment.
The indictment includes a list of social media ads that the Russians paid for – all containing anti-Clinton and pro-Trump messages.
'Donald wants to defeat terrorism ... Hillary wants to sponsor it,' read one.
'Hillary Clinton Doesn't Deserve the Black Vote,' blared another.
'Hillary is a Satan, and her crimes and lies had proved just how evil she is,' read a third.
The White House said Friday afternoon that President Trump had been notified about the Mueller team's indictment.

Russian Oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin, a close confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is accused of being at the center of the conspiracy
Internet Research Agency Indictment uploaded by DailyMail.com on Scribd

It claims some of the defendants posed as Americans – and communicated with 'unwitting' individuals associated with the Trump campaign,
The indictment doesn't name those people.
The Russian trolls were dead-set against helping anyone other than Trump or Democratic primary hopeful Bernie Sanders, according to the indictment.

They also tried 'to denigrate other candidates such as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio,'
People working for the Internet Research Agency were told to 'use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest (except Sanders and Trump- we support them).'

By the time Election Day drew near, the Russians were casting Clinton as a friend to Sharia Law-abiding Muslims
Facebook groups and Twitter bots made up most of the online efforts. Managers at one point criticized the manager of one astroturf Facebook group called 'Secured Borders' for having a 'low number of posts dedicated to criticizing Hillary Clinton.'
'It is imperative to intensify criticizing Hillary Clinton,' the troll was warned.
Mueller's indictment lists election-related Twitter hashtags that the defendants used, including #Trump2016, #TrumpTrain, #MAGA, #IWontProtectHillary and #Hillary4Prison.
One fake Facebook account called 'Trumpsters United' was launched to whip Trump supporters into a frenzy.
Charges in Friday's indictment include conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein (left) and Pat Leahy (right) showed a fake social media post for the 'Miners for Trump' rally during a hearing on October 31, 2017
Rosenstein said Friday that some of the social media campaigns 'recruited and paid real Americans' – who didn't know they were communicating with Russians – to stage campaign rallies and engage in other political activities.
Once Trump had defeated Clinton, he said, the defendants 'staged rallies to support the president-elect while simultaneously staging rallies to protest his election.'
He cited two competing events, 'both in New York, on the same day.'
In a related case, Mueller's office said Friday that a California man had pleaded guilty to helping others use stolen identities to skirt the security features of online banking websites.
Richard Pinedo committed identity fraud by selling bank account numbers corresponding to accounts he set up or secured online.
Many of those accounts were created using stolen identities.

On February 14th, 2017, a German-Turkish journalist (dual citizenship) was imprisoned for being 'a western spy' although he was always very critical about German and EU politics concerning Turkey. But he had interviewed a Kurdish politician before the putsch happened in July 2016 which Turkish president Erdigan blamed the Kurds for. He was very critical and asked the politician very tough questions, but nevertheless he was accused for supporting the Kurds and being a German spy. There never was an official arraignment, he was in remand for one year, many months isolated, nobody from the German embassy and no lawyer was allowed to visit him for months.
Our politicians tried to help him and put pressure on the Turkish government. Today, he was set free and was allowed to return to Germany. At the same time an official arraignment was published, accusing him the charges I've already mentioned. (Which is at least strange IMO, to release somebody and to allow him to leave the country and to set an official arraignment at the same time.)
But there are still hundreds of journalists imprisoned. Six of them were convicted to a life sentence for 'supporting Kurdish extremists' (aka politicians). To one of the journalists, the Turkish supreme court had judged that the accusations are false and that he has to be set free immediately. The Turkish government ordered to retract this verdict and the local court convicted him to a life sentence instead.

Five of the journalists who are still imprisoned, are Germans, there are also other foreign journalists imprisoned. I'm not sure that our government hasn't made any concessions to have Yucel released. Which would clarify that all foreign journalists are kept as hostages...

The president shared images from his visit to a Florida hospital where victims are still recovering after a gunman, armed with an AR-15 rifle, slaughtered 14 students and three teachers Wednesday.
A brightly smiling Donald Trump flashed the thumbs up sign during his visit where he spoke with a trauma surgeon and hospital staff, before dodging a question about gun control.
The president told reporters at Broward Health North Hospital that he met with victims: 'Yes I did, yes I did, I did indeed and it's very sad that something like this happened,' before sharing the smiling photo op.
The president refused to answer a reporter who followed up with 'Mr. President, do gun laws need to be changed?'

Trump and Melania were seen talking to Dr. Igor Nichiporenko, a trauma surgeon at Broward Health North Hospital while in the hospital hallways before addressing the waiting press pool where his dialogue focused mainly on praising first responders.
On Twitter several people hit out at the president's thumbs up gesture and wide grin while visiting the hospital that handled the trauma victims that flooded the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

They departed the hospital in the motorcade at 7:15pm, according to a pool log by a New York Times reporter.
The president and Melania also spoke to first responders at the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

Real courage of the first responders, and the teachers, that had to handle the devastating task of saving lives after Florida's worst school shooting ever- families who lost loved ones will never be the same after the senseless slaughter by a gunman armed with an AR-15 that killed 17 people on Valentine's Day
The First Lady addressed those gathered a the Sheriff's office: 'Thank you all for what you do and saving our children, that's the most important to our future, and let's take care of them because they will go through a lot from what they experienced two days ago.'
But some of the parents, survivors and others affected by the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were more interested in firm action to prevent future assaults than a presidential visit.
'I don't want Trump to come but we want more gun safety,' said 18-year-old Kevin Trejos, a senior at the school where 17 people were killed and 14 injured. 'It's a dream. It hasn't hit me yet.'

BREAKING NEWS: Trump's National Security Adviser says Russian meddling in election is 'beyond dispute' minutes after foreign minister dismisses FBI charges against the 13 who interfered as 'just babble'

 • HR McMaster said on Saturday the evidence Russia had meddled was 'incontrovertible'

 • He laughed off the notion the US could work with the Kremlin on cyber security and accused it of 'sophisticated espionage'

 • He spoke on the same stage where Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov described the allegations as 'just babble' minutes earlier

 • Both were responding to Robert Mueller's sensational indictment against 13 Russians which was returned on Friday

 • It charges them with systematically working to interfere with the election from 2014 to 2016

 • Trump has not argued with the indictment but focused on the fact that neither he nor his campaign aides colluded with them

 • In the indictment, FBI investigators say Trump's team were 'unwitting'

President Trump's National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said on Saturday that Russia's meddling in the election was now 'beyond dispute', conceding the results of Robert Mueller's probe and directly contradicting the US Russian foreign minister who labeled them 'just babble' moments earlier.
McMaster was speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday morning.
He said the evidence that there was interference 'is now incontrovertible' and he credited Mueller's investigation and the sensational, long-awaited indictment for bringing it to the surface.
'As you can see with the FBI indictment, the evidence is now really incontrovertible and available in the public domain.'

Laughing off the notion that the US could work with the Kremlin on the issue of cyber security in the future, he said:
'I’m surprised there are any Russian cyber experts available based on how active most of them have been undermining our democracies in the West.
'We would love to have a cyber dialogue when Russia is sincere about curtailing its sophisticated form of espionage.'
Moments earlier on the same stage, foreign minister Sergey Lavrov dismissed the indictment and its allegations.

Minutes earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the indictment was 'just babble' and claimed the facts had not yet been proven
'I have no response. You can publish anything, and we see those indictments multiplying, the statements multiplying.
'Until we see the facts, everything else is just blabber.'
He said there was an 'irrational myth' that Russia was threatening the West, and said: 'traces' of it 'are found everywhere from Brexit to the Catalan referendum.'
Both were responding to the 37-page indictment returned on Friday by a grand jury which charges 13 Russian individuals and three companies with a series of crimes relating to the interference.
Among them is a millionaire restaurateur known as Putin's chef and a retired police colonel who acted as the front for the organization which led the interference and what is known as 'the troll factory'.
Among those indicted are a businessman nicknamed Putin's 'chef', a woman who acted as a spy for the organization to come to the US in 2014 to gather intel and a computer whiz who used servers to hide 'troll factory's location'.
Mueller's office made the stunning announcement on Friday, saying that the defendants laid the groundwork for targeting U.S. elections in 2014 – and that by mid-2016 they were actively 'supporting the presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald J. Trump ... and disparaging Hillary Clinton.'
They did not suggest that there had been any collusion between them and Trump's campaign and stated in the indictment that any member of his campaign that was contacted by the 'trolls' was 'unwitting'.
On Friday, U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said: 'There is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant in this illegal activity.'
He also said there was no proof that the interference successfully swayed voters.
Trump lamented it on Twitter, repeating what he and his supporters have been saying for months.

The president  celebrated the indictment's timeline which said the interference began before he announced his candidacy. It said any of his campaign aides were 'unwitting'

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced the charges at a press conference on Friday (above)
'Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President. The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong – no collusion!'

The White House issued a longer victory-lap statement afterwards.
Insiders told CBS that the Trump briefing prior to the announcement was held in hopes of keeping Trump from over-reacting on Twitter and ensuring the president would not 'break any glass' over the new information.

Mueller's investigation is still ongoing.
The Special Counsel has not concluded the investigation into whether Trump or his associates colluded with Russia ahead of the 2016 election, an insider told Bloomberg.
Rosenstein said the Russian defendants engaged in 'what they called 'information warfare against the United States,' with the stated goal of spreading distrust toward the candidates and the political system in general.'
He said the indictments are a reminder that 'people are not always who they appear to be'.

Yevgeniy Viktorovich Prigozhin, 56, is colloquially known as Putin's chef because the Russian president favors his catering and takes foreign leaders to his restaurant when they are visiting. He owns the 'troll factory' which was the alleged vehicle of the interference

How the Russians meddled in the 2016 election

A 37-page indictment released Feb. 16, 2018 by the U.S. Department of Justice accuses 13 Russians and 3 Russian companies of conspiring to compromise the most recent U.S. elections by running online campaigns disguised to look like home-grown activity.
A federal grand jury charged that they:

 • posed as both real and nonexistent Americans to operate social media pages and groups supporting Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders
 • worked to undermine support for Hillary Clinton and at leas two of Trump's Republican rivals
 • conducted 'information warfare' by stealing identities and buying ads on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter
 • created niche groups on Facebook to attract hundreds of thousands of Muslims, evangelical Christians, people associated with Black Lives Matter, and Americans from specific regions of the country
 • organized real-life political rallies to support Trump and oppose Clinton
 • created Twitter accounts with names meant to appear linked to the Republican Party (one had more than 100,000 followers)
 • used foreign bank accounts to route more than $1.25 million per month to the project from companies owned by a Russian oligarch close to Vladimir Putin
 • never reported the spending to the Federal Election Commission as campaign expenses
 • never registered as foreign agents with the Justice Department
 • bought space on computer servers based in America so all their Internet traffic would appear to be domestic

The 'Internet Research Agency,' an infamous Russian Internet troll factory, is at the center of the allegations.
Rosenstein said the group set up a virtual private network in the United States to make it appear as though accounts it was running were controlled by people in the US.
Founder Evgeny Prigozhin, a Russian Oligarch and shadowy businessman known as 'Putin's chef,' is among the named defendants. Rosenstein said he funded it through two other companies.
Prigozhin, 56, is said to have used his businesses, Concord Catering and Concord Management and Consulting, to fund the Internet Research Agency, known as the 'Kremlin Troll factory' which was the vehicle for the alleged interference.
The 'chef' paid the salaries of the other 12 defendants who worked for the research company, it is alleged, through this financial backing which prosecutors started in 2014.
Also indicted is Mikhail Bystrov, a retired police colonel and the CEO frontman for the 'troll factory'.
Rosenstein said Moscow was not notified in advance that Prigozhin was being investigated, or that indictments were forthcoming – a suggestion that the Justice Department is delivering a slap to Putin from 4,800 miles away.

In this picture taken on Sunday, April 19, 2015, a women enters the four-story building known as the 'troll factory'  in St. Petersburg, Russia, the home of the Internet Research Agency
'We've had no communication with the Russians about this. We'll follow the ordinary process of seeking cooperation and extradition,' he said.
Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse said after Rosenstein's press conference that Mueller had 'just put Moscow on notice.'
'This ought to be a wakeup call to Washington: Putin's shadow war is aimed at undermining Americans' trust in our institutions. We know Russia is coming back in 2018 and 2020 – we have to take this threat seriously.'
The indictment says Prigozhin's organization 'sought, in part, to conduct what it called 'information warfare against the United States of America' through fictitious U.S. personas on social media platforms and other Internet-based media.'
'By in or around May 2014, the organization's strategy included interfering with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, with the stated goal of 'spread[ing] distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general',' according to the indictment.

The indictment includes a list of social media ads that the Russians paid for – all containing anti-Clinton and pro-Trump messages.
The defendants are accused of posting 'derogatory' information' about several candidates in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump said in a statement that 'it is more important than ever before to come together as Americans. We cannot allow those seeking to sow confusion, discord, and rancor to be successful'

By mid-2016, they made posts 'supporting the presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald J. Trump and disparaging Hillary Clinton', the indictment says.
By September of that year, the group had a monthly budget of $125,000 and used Social Security numbers of US citizens without their consent to set up PayPal accounts and buy ads on social media, the indictment says.
'Donald wants to defeat terrorism ... Hillary wants to sponsor it,' read one social media post.
'Hillary Clinton Doesn't Deserve the Black Vote,' blared another.
'Hillary is a Satan, and her crimes and lies had proved just how evil she is,' read a third.
The White House said on Friday afternoon that President Trump had been notified about the Mueller team's indictment.
The indictment claims some of the defendants posed as Americans – and communicated with 'unwitting' individuals associated with the Trump campaign.
It doesn't name those people.

The 13 Russian nationals charged with interfering in the election: Putin's 'chef', a female spy who came to the US in 2014 to gather intel and a computer whiz who used servers to hide 'troll factory's location'

1. Yevgeniy Viktorovich Prigozhin, 56, - The boss, also known as 'Putin's Chef'
According to the indictment released on Friday by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller's office, Prigozhin led the effort.
The 56-year-old is said to have used his businesses, Concord Catering and Concord Management and Consulting, to fund the Internet Research Agency, known as the 'Kremlin Troll factory' which was the vehicle for the alleged interference.
Prigozhin paid the salaries of the other 12 defendants who worked for the research company, it is alleged, through this financial backing which prosecutors started in 2014.
The businessman is given the nickname 'Putin's Chef' because he owns restaurants favored by Putin as the venues for state dinners.
A 2016 profile of him by the Russian newsite Meduza described him as an ex-con who graduated from a boarding school only to join a gang and become convicted of attempted robbery and prostitution. He spent nine years in jail.
He gained access to St. Petersburg's elite in 1996 when he and a friend opened Staraya Tamozhnya, one of the city's finest restaurants. Until then, he had worked with his father more modesty in grocery stores and selling hot dogs.
He opened his New Island, his second restaurant, in 1997. Putin was first drawn to it in 2001 when he took the then French president Jacques Chirac there for a meal and Prigozhin served them.
He continued to cater to Putin's staff at the restaurant over the years and grew closer to them. Soon, he became the go-to caterer for official state events in Moscow.
In 2010, he launched what was billed as a good-cause initiative to feed hungry schoolchildren in St Petersburg.
Putin attended the launch of food factory to celebrate it and the initiative was funded generously by state-owned bank Vnesheconombank.
A year into the project, parents became angry when they realized the food being produced was full of additives.
He then started feeding other school children in Moscow with more success, having obtained private contracts from the city's mayor.
Prigozhin won similarly lucrative contracts with the military.
In 2012, he signed a $1.2billion contract which had him provide 90 percent of the meals the Russian army's soldiers consumed. The system of outsourcing the military's meals ended in 2013.
It gave him his biggest paycheck and associates said at the time he was known to pay for private jets with cash.
Throughout, Prigozhin was a dedicated patriot and was proud of his association to Putin's government.
This lucrative relationship with the state carried on until 2013 when the laws changed and outside caterers were no longer brought in to provide the military with meals.
By then, Prigozhin had earned more than $1billion from the state through the deal.
The 'troll factory' (Internet Research Agency) was founded that same year. Though Mikhail Bystrov was named as its owner and CEO, Russian journalists learned of Prigozhin's connection to it early on.

What specifically prompted him to do it or if anyone put him up to it remains unclear.
In its genesis, the factory's employees had one job - to post complimentary post on social media about Putin and the government and besmirch the names of their opponents.
When Prigozhin's association to the Internet Research Agency was revealed, he faced increased scrutiny from critics.
An article in 2015 highlighted how the factory worked and the conflict Prigozhin's relationship to Putin posed.
With the bad press about him growing, Prigozhin attempted in 2016 to have himself 'erased' from the internet. It coincided with the introduction of a new bill which gave an individual the right to be forgotten.
The law was pushed by Putin and states that websites must delete content such as news stories about an individual if it breaks the law, is false or is 'obsolete'.
To date, Prigozhin has filed 15 lawsuits against the Russian search engine Yandex which is uncensored.
2. Mikhail Bystrov, retired police colonel and the CEO frontman for the 'troll factory'
Bystrov was listed as the CEO of Internet Research Agency and his name has been linked to other companies which have been tied to the election interference.
Little is known of him other than that was an employee of the state who was born in 1958.
He, unlike Prigozhin, has not been pictured publicly with Putin and has kept himself out of the spotlight.
According to Mueller's investigation, he joined IRC in 2014 as its highest ranking employee.
'Bystrov was the general director. He subsequently served as the head of various other entities used by the organization to mask its activities, for example, Glavset LLC, where he was listed as that entity's general director,' it reads.
3. Mikhail Leonidovich Burchik, aka Mikhail Abramov, the second in command
Burchik was Bystrov's right-hand man at the organization, according to Mueller's complaint.
He used the name Mikhail Abramov too and was instrumental in orchestrating Project Lakhta, the generously funded  project which officials say was the start of the interference.
At conception, it had a budget of the equivalent of $1.25million. Lakhta involved both US and Russian-targeted interference, it claimed.
He was in charge of meetings, structure and personnel, according to Mueller's indictment, had one-on-ones with Prigozhin.
4. Sergey Pavlovich Polozov, IT whiz who used US servers to hide 'troll factory's' real location in Russia
Polozov was in charge of the IT department and his biggest responsibility was hiding the location of the Internet Research's Agency HQ, now known to be 55 Savushkina Street in the Olgina neighborhood of St Petersburg.
Prosecutors allege that the posts its employees wrote were designed to look like they had been written by Americans who favored Trump.
This was possible, Mueller says, through the 'procurement of US servers' which at first glance made them look like they came from America if they were ever probed.
Mueller's indictment alleges: 'Polozov served as the manager of the IT department and oversaw the procurement of US servers and other company infrastructure that masked the organization's Russian location when conducting operations within the United States.
'To hide their Russian identities, [they], particular Polozov, purchased space on computer servers located inside the US in order to set up virtual private networks (VPNs). They connected from Russia to the US-based infrastructure by way of these VPNs and conducted activity in the US, including accessing online social media accounts, opening new accounts, and communicating with real US persons - while masking the Russian origin and control of the activity,' it reads.
5. Aleksandra Yurevna Krylova, female spy who 'came to US in 2013 to gather information and report it back'
Mueller's complaint gives little detail of the background lives of the lesser known employees and there is scarce information about them available.
It is suggested though that Krylova, one of four women named, was the company's spy.
'In 2014, Krylova traveled to the United States under false pretenses for the purpose of collecting intelligence to inform the organization's operations,' the indictment reads.
6. Anna Vladislavovna Bogacheva, data analyst for alleged US interference dubbed 'the translator project'
Bogacheva was tied to what the employees referred to as 'the translator project'. It was part of the larger Project Lakhta but focused only on US audiences, it is claimed.
She too is alleged to have traveled to the US under false pretenses to gather information.
Bogacheva only worked for the company for three months between April and July 2015 but she is listed as one of the defendants.
7. Maria Anatolyevna Bovda, project manager
Bovda is described in the indictment as the 'head' of the translator project, the designated branch of the wider pro-Putin effort which focused on US audiences.
She worked there between November 2013 and October 2014, according to the complaint.
8. Robert Sergeyevish Bovda, second in charge of project
It is not clear from the indictment whether he and Maria Bovda are related, but he acted beneath her as the second in charge of the 'translator' project and worked at the company over the same dates.
He too is accused of trying to enter the US under false pretenses to collect information but he did not obtain a visa and could not make the trip.
9. Dzheykhun Nasimi Ogly, took over before the election
Ogly, who also used the names Jayhoon Aslanov and Ajay Aslanov took over when Maria Bovda left the project in late 2014 and he was at its helm during the election, it is claimed.
He was also listed as a director for another company which has been tied to interference and is owned by Prigozhin.
10. Vadim Vladimirovich Podkopaev, data analyst
Podkopaev joined in June 2014 and drafted social media content to be blasted by the 'trolls'.
He also worked as a data analyst, targeting US audiences, according to the complaint.
11. Gleb Igorevich Vasilchenko, pre-election 'troll'
Vasilchenko is accused of posting under numerous social media accounts which the factory operated from 2014 until September 2016, two months before the election.
He went on to work for 'sub groups' which were also owned by Prigozhin and which also worked to interfere with the election, it is claimed.
As per the complaint, he 'was responsible for posting, monitoring and updating the social media content of many organization-controlled accounts while posing as US persons or US grassroots organizations.
12. Irina Viktorovna Kaverzina, 'posed as multiple US voters online'
The fourth woman charged, she is alleged to have used multiple social media accounts to pose as an American and make influential posts about politics and Donald Trump.
She joined in October 2014.
When US officials launched their investigation in 2017, Kaverzine allegedly let slip to a family member that they had been 'busted' and told how she had to spend time 'covering her tracks'.
'We had a slight crisis here at work: the FBI busted our activity (not a joke). So I got preoccupied with covering tracks together with colleagues. I created all these pictures and posts and the Americans believed it was written by their people,' she wrote.
13. Vladimir Venkov,  pre-election troll
Venkov, one of three designated trolls, allegedly shared the responsibilities of Kaverzina and Vasilchenko to post content online while posing as an American.

Anti-U.S. 'information warfare' alleged in indictment of Russians

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova scoffed at the indictment on Friday night.
'Thirteen people intervened in the elections in the US?' she wrote on Facebook. 'Thirteen against the billion-dollar budgets of the intelligence services? Against intelligence and counterintelligence, against the latest developments and technologies?'
'Absurd? Yes,' Zakharova added, 'but this is a modern American political reality.'

When watching these campaign tweets about Hillary, I just thought that I would never take them serious and believe them. I mean, they didn't say anything substantial and were obviously lies. When people really believe this bu...it, I would question their ability to vote...

Young survivors of the Florida school shooting have gathered at a massive rally to demand changes to the nation's gun laws.
Thousands joined the rally on Saturday at the federal court house in Fort Lauderdale, some 25 miles from where 17 people were shot and killed Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School this week.
Students from the high school spoke passionately during the rally, pleading with lawmakers to change the nation's gun laws.
One teen, Emma Gonzalez, angrily criticized politicians who take campaign contributions from the National Rifle Association, and challenged them to stop taking money.

'We will be the last mass shooting,' said Gonzalez, a senior at the high school who took cover on the floor of the auditorium as a shooter rampaged through the building.
She directly addressed President Donald Trump, reading out his tweet in response to the shooting and demanding to know how much the NRA had donated to his campaign.
During the presidential election, the gunowners' rights group pumped $31 million into ads supporting Trump and attacking his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton

Gonzalez also said adults who knew that the shooter was mentally ill should have done more to prevent him from having a weapon.
'We need to pay attention to the fact that this isn't just a mental health issue,' Gonzalez said at the rally. 'He wouldn't have been able to kill that many people with a knife.'
'They say a good guy stops a good guy with a gun - we call BS!' Gonzalez said. 'That us kids don't know what we're talking about, that we're too young to understand how the government works - we call BS!'
Another senior at the school, Delaney Tarr, told the crowd: 'My innocence, our innocence has been taken away from us. I am 17 but in a matter of days I have aged decades.'
Senior David Hogg, 18, also spoke out at the rally, saying: 'Thank you for your prayers and condolences but that is not enough.'
'We've been hearing the same thing again and again, and same thing continues to happen. We say stop it, stop it today,' Hogg said.
'No more guns, no more guns!' the crowd began chanting at points.
Other speakers demanded a ban on 'assault weapons'. Shooter Nikolas Cruz used an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle that he purchased legally a year ago to kill 17 on Wednesday.

Students who survived the shooting at Stoneman have been speaking out loudly in the days since the massacre on Wednesday.
Hogg urged 'policy makers take a look in the mirror and take some action' in an interview just one day after the shooting.
'Ideas are great, but without action, ideas stay idea and children die,' added the teen, whose articulate, 'common sense' response to the shooting has won him fans on Twitter.
Hogg was in his AP Environmental Science class when he heard a gunshot ring out at around 2.30pm.
The high schooler, a news director of the student TV station, said he initially suspected it could be a drill, so when the fir alarm rang he and his classmates dutifully filed out. That's when he saw a 'flood' of kids running in the opposite direction.
'So I started running with the herd and we’re running we’re actually running towards the freshman building,' he told CNN. 'And thank god a janitor stopped us.'
'That’s not acceptable,' the very articulate 18-year-old said. 'That’s not something that should happen in this country, especially when we’re going to school. It’s something that we really need to take a look at.
'Our policy makers and some people need to look in the mirror, and take some action.'

Meanwhile, state lawmakers in Florida have just three weeks left in their annual 60-day session and normally are trying to wrap up work on a new state budget in the final days.
But the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland has revived an ongoing legislative debate about how to respond to gun violence.
Democrats want the Legislature to take up gun control bills that have languished again this year, but Republican legislative leaders are talking about boosting mental health programs in Florida's public schools as well as considering measures that would bolster safety on school campuses.
Governor Rick Scott has said he plans to talk to legislative leaders in the coming week about what could be done to make it harder for people who are mentally ill to purchase a gun.

Earlier in the weekend, placards inspired by Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri were driven around Miami to put pressure on its Republican senator after the high school massacre this week in Florida.
The signs – reading 'Slaughtered in school', 'And still no gun control?', 'How come, Marco Rubio?' – echoed the Oscar-nominated film where a mother challenges authorities over justice for her daughter who was raped and murdered.
The protest was organised by activist group Avaaz, which highlighted the campaign donations Mr Rubio has accepted from gun advocates the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Over his legislative career, Rubio has been the beneficiary of $3,303,355 in campaign spending by the NRA, according to the LA Times.

God bless these kids! I'm so proud of them. They prove that not everyone in this country drank Trump's kool-aid.

I saw that they're trying to organize a national walk-out for all students next month. I hope every student and teacher in the country takes the opportunity to send a message to Congress. We need rational gun laws and anyone who stands in the way should be prepared for a fight come election time.

The NRA can't save them all and it looks like Mueller might have found information that will give the NRA some problems of its own.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter Saturday to blame Democrats for failing to address gun control during the eight years President Obama was in office.
He took to Twitter to avert any blame and gloat that the opposition party couldn't pass any gun laws, accusing Democrats of using the issue as a political talking point.
'Just like they don't want to solve the DACA problem, why didn't the Democrats pass gun control legislation when they had both the House & Senate during the Obama Administration,' he wrote Saturday evening.
'Because they didn't want to, and now they just talk!'

This was the first time the president has addressed the issue of gun control since Wednesday's shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, and came just hours after a rally where thousands of students, parents, teachers and politicians called on Trump and the Republican party to pass new gun restrictions.

Before Saturday's tweet, Trump hadn't spoken about gun control at all, instead offering thoughts and prayers and touching on the shooter's alleged mental illness.

Just after the attack Trump tweeted to suggest that the 19-year-old attacker was 'mentally disturbed' and said more people should have alerted authorities.
'So many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed, even expelled from school for bad and erratic behavior,' Trump tweeted.
'Neighbors and classmates knew he was a big problem. Must always report such instances to authorities, again and again!'
But during Saturday's rally, survivor and student Emma Gonzalez pointed out that students did report him 'again and again'.
'It was no surprise to anyone who knew him to her that he was the shooter,' Gonzalez said through tears.
She directly addressed Trump during her speech, demanding to know how much the NRA had donated to his campaign. During the presidential election, the gunowners' rights group pumped $31 million into ads supporting Trump and attacking his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
Gonzalez also reminded the president that in February 2017 he repealed an Obama-era regulation that made it more difficult for people with mental illness to purchase firearms.

After Saturday's emotional anti-gun rally in Florida, CNN's Jake Tapper tweeted to invite President Trump to a live town hall the network is hosting with parents and students from Stoneman Douglas High School
That law came after the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in 2012. Obama aggressively pushed for new gun restrictions after the shooting, announcing a sreies of executive actions intended to strengthen gun control.
He also urged congress to pass legislation and address the matter.
In 2013 two gun control measures failed to pass. the first was a ban on assault weapons, proposed by California's Dianne Feinstein. The second called for universal background checks, introduced by Senators Joe Manchin and Pat Toomey, a democrat and a republican, respectively.
But Republicans have had control of the House of Representatives since 2011, and regained control of the Senate in 2014, making it difficult for any further legislation to pass.
After Saturday's emotional anti-gun rally in Florida, CNN's Jake Tapper tweeted to invite President Trump to a live town hall the network is hosting with parents and students from Stoneman Douglas High School.
The network announced it will air 'Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action' on Wednesday following calls from students demanding lawmakers take action.
CNN has invited Trump, Florida Governor Rick Scott, Florida Senators Marco Ruio and Bill Nelson, and Representative Ted Deutch.
Governor Rick Scott has said he plans to talk to legislative leaders in the coming week about what could be done to make it harder for people who are mentally ill to purchase a gun.

President Donald Trump said it was 'not acceptable' that the FBI missed signs the Florida school shooter was going to attack, slamming the agency for 'spending too much time' focusing on the Russian collusion investigation.

After a week during which Robert Mueller appeared to prove Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, Trump used the shooting, in which 17 died, including 14 children, to attack the FBI for going after him in the Russian collusion investigation.
And in just one 280 character tweet late Saturday night, he managed to conflate the two biggest national news stories of the week - Russian election interference and the Florida tragedy.

'Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter,' he tweeted. 'This is not acceptable. They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign - there is no collusion. Get back to the basics and make us all proud!'
Trump sparked anger among many Twitter users - but perhaps none so much as Arizona State Congressman and Iraqi War veteran Ruben Gallego - who went so far as to call the president a psychopath.
'You are such a psychopath that you have to make even the death of 17 children about you,' Gallego, a democrat, wrote. 'America will regret the day you were ever born.'

And in just one 280 character tweet late Saturday night, he managed to conflate the two biggest national news stories of the week - Russian election interference and the Florida tragedy. Pictured left is FBI director Chris Wray, and right is Nikolas Cruz, the man accused of opening fire at his former teachers and classmates

The president failed to mention that the FBI, which has 35,000 employees, was alerted to the 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz at its field office in Miami. Field officers in Miami have nothing to do with looking into the Russian collusion into the 2016 election -  that is being handled in Washington.
The message came just a few hours after a late-afternoon tweet-storm from the president, in which he took aim at the 'fake news media' for failing to report that a Facebook executive confirmed the majority of Russian spending on ads came after the 2016 election.
He also took the opportunity to attack Democrats for failing to pass gun control legislation during Obama's eight years in the White House.
It seemed that in the series of Tweets about Russian collusion and the Florida school shooting, Trump was paving the way for his late-evening message linking the two things.
These messages all came just one day after special counsel Robert Mueller issued a 37-page indictment, charging 13 Russian individuals and three companies with a series of crimes related to the Russian interference into the 2016 election.

Anger after FBI fails to investigate Florida shooter Nikolas Cruz

But Trump is far from the only person to attack the FBI field office in Miami for overlooking warning signs that pointed to the likelihood that Nikolas Cruz would become a school shooter.
Cruz was repeatedly identified by local and federal agencies as a troubled young man with violent tendencies, and on Friday the FBI admitted it failed to investigate a tip by someone last month identifying him as a potential threat.
In that tip, someone close to Cruz identified him as a gun owner intent on killing people, and said it might happen at school.
Local police were also called to the teen's home multiple times over the past few years for reports of disturbances.
A state report also shows that Cruz worried officials at his school, who on at least one occasion alerted a crisis unit because they believed he needed emergency counselling. Cruz had a long history of violence at the school, including fighting with teachers and using profane language.
And nearly a year-and-a-half before his brutal crime, the Florida Department of Children and Families conducted an in-home investigation of Cruz.  They had been alerted to posts on snapchat of the then 18-year-old cutting his arms and speaking about wanting to buy a gun.
After visiting his home, state agents said he was a low risk of harming himself or others, and no action was taken.

Rough translation

Because the United States does nothing on weapons

Alessio MacDonald, journalist of International
"' There was no way to avoid it, ' says the only country where these things happen regularly." After every firearms massacre in the United States the satirical site The Onion pulls out this article, which is systematically shared by tens of thousands of people on social networks. It happened even after the massacre at a high school in Parkland, Florida, where a former 19-year-old student killed 17 people.

The article is always the same, only change the dates, the place where the massacre took place and the number of deaths and casualties. Automatic repetition is a way to underline the macabre uniqueness of the United States with respect to the rest of the world, and also to unmask the politicians who every time stage a ritual of the massacre that can be summed up as follows: Please for the victims, you invite The whole nation to support the stricken community, it attacks those who propose to reduce the weapons in circulation because "we must not politicize the story", it makes sure to forget quickly.

The ritual is also part of the slew of figures on gun violence: Thirty thousand Americans killed by weapons each year, 100,000 people affected, 71 percent increase in the spread of rifles in the space of twenty years. These numbers help to understand the seriousness of the problem, but taken out of context are likely to be counterproductive, because they can bring public opinion, both in the United States and in the rest of the world, to think that there is nothing to do to solve the Problem.

In reality there is nothing inescapable in the relationship of the Americans with weapons. And in order to understand the violence caused by the weapons and the political debate that revolves around it, we need to talk about some data and some trends that are often underestimated.

With 88 weapons every hundred people, the United States is by far the country in the world where weapons are more widespread among civilians. Second in the list is Yemen, where a civil war has been going on for years, and it is clearly detached (54.8 weapons every hundred people). This data generated the idea that in the United States everyone is armed, that the passion for weapons is in the genes of the Americans and that for this reason the pressures on the Congress to put a hand to the situation are useless. In fact the situation is very different.

Polls conducted among American adults say that the vast majority of the population (78 percent) has no weapons. This means that a minority, 22% of the adults, owns three hundred million weapons: 19% of them have 50%, while the other half is in the hands of a small three percent of the population.

Seniors against young people
It is also important to note that the number of people owning a weapon has been declining steadily since the nineties, and that this decrease is interwoven with the demographic changes going on in the United States.

Surveys conducted among gun owners show that there are large differences based on age, to the ethnic group of belonging and to the richness: among the people with more than sixty years the rate of spread of the arms is 25 per cent, almost double the data on the P People between 18 and 29 years of age; Also 25 percent of whites have a weapon, much more than blacks (14 percent) and Hispanics (16 percent); Finally, the spread of guns and pistols is much higher among those who earn more than 60mila dollars a year. In addition, white males who are more than sixty years old and a high income are also those who tend to have both a gun and a shotgun.

This means that most of the US armed adults belong to a socio-economic group that in recent decades has begun to shrink, a trend that is bound to increase in the coming years: according to the projections of the Pew Research Center, In 2050, the whites will no longer be a majority in the country, while the percentage of Hispanic people, a group that is on average younger, less politicized and therefore less tied to the traditions and myths of the American culture, is growing. , including the ones that have to do with weapons.

Lobby increasingly fiercer
What does it mean from a political standpoint? On the one hand it could increase the number of people favorable to more controls on the sale and possession of weapons (currently are 51 per cent of the population); On the other hand, those who have guns at home will be increasingly fierce in defending them and increasingly willing to support organizations that represent the rights of producers, starting with the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Now the Nra is in a special position: Barack Obama, the president who most of all has hurled himself at the gun lobby, has gone out of the picture, and the Republicans control both Congress and the White House. Accusing the federal government of wanting to confiscate the weapons of the Americans no longer makes sense, and as a result the number of members of the Nra has fallen in recent months and the sales have also drastically decreased (a few days ago the Remington, one of the most famous companies Of the industry, declared bankruptcy). But this does not mean that the Nra's executives will lower their guard and a crack opens for those who want to restrict the spread of weapons.

Both the president and the republicans of the congress, it has always been an electorate - mostly made up of whites, males and non-young people - that coincides with the part of Americans looking for weapons, will still attack, trying to avoid controls on the sale and possession of weapons. In fact, I have already done so: since I took office the new administration and the new congress, I have approved measures that make it easier to have access to weapons.
In February 2017, for example, Trump has a series of mentally disturbed person considerations). And on 12 February, the days before the massacre, the Trump administration presented a proposal for the 2019 budget in which, among other things, millions of federal funds will be cut for programs to prevent crimes in schools and to assist the victims.
In other words, the problem of violence caused by arms in the United States is so difficult to solve, because it is no longer just a matter of weapons: rather, the transformations of society, and the fear of a part of society losing its political influence.

Its me, thanks for sharing this story.  At the end of the article it mentions how Remington has declared bankruptcy because sales have gone way down.  I heard this story several days ago and was shocked.  But now it all makes sense.  When a Democrat President is in power all the gun advocates rush out to buy up all the guns out of an unjustified fear that their guns are going to be outlawed.  But they were all feeling safe after Trumpster got elected so the fear is gone.  But these people are a skittish bunch and I’m sure after every mass shooting they start rushing back to their gun dealer to stock up.

PAN, I heard about the students organizing this March on Washington this morning.  It is brilliant.  I love the passion these students are showing.  I hope it spreads and stokes more outrage. I think there will be a huge turnout!  Especially people from around here will show up because most in and around here are for sensible gun control and vote Democrat.

By NIKKI SCHWAB, U.S. POLITICAL REPORTER FOR DAILYMAIL.COM
PUBLISHED: 13:05 EST, 18 February 2018 | UPDATED: 15:49 EST, 18 February 2018

Ohio Gov. John Kasich – who campaigned for president as a strong supporter of the Second Amendment – knocked Congress for being 'totally dysfunctional' and said state and local officials need to enact gun control measures if U.S. lawmakers don't.
'If you're a strong Second Amendment person you need to slow down and take a look at reasonable things that can be done to answer these young people,' Kasich said Sunday.
Kasich, who ran for the 2016 Republican nomination, appeared on CNN's State of the Union directly after a group of students from Parkland, Florida – a community rocked Wednesday by yet another school massacre – who demanded gun control.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich (right) told CNN's Dana Bash (left) that he was for 'reasonable things' to be done on the issue of gun control
CNN's Dana Bash first asked Kasich, who signed a number of pro-Second Amendment bill while in his current position, how he responded to complaints that his political party has done nothing on guns.

Kasich answered by calling the young people 'amazing.'
'They're absolutely right when they say that politicians have not been responding to any of this,' the Ohio Republican said. 'You take a look at the Congress, and I think the Congress is totally dysfunctional. Dana, I have never seen anything like it.'
Kasich, a former U.S. House member himself, blasted lawmakers for not getting an immigration deal passed and for driving up the deficit with President Trump's tax reform bill, passed in December.
'They just can't seem to get anything done, except the fact that they all came together and agreed to take money out of our kids' piggy banks, because now they just go ahead and blow a hole in the deficit,' he huffed. 'So it's dysfunctional.'
'Wake up. Wake up,' he said, scolding U.S. lawmakers.
As for passing new gun laws, Kasich said he had 'no confidence' in Congress to act.
Kasich also didn't seem to have much confidence in President Trump's leadership ability on the issue.
Bash asked Kasich about a tweet President Trump sent out that suggested the FBI dropped the ball on this particular school shooting because agents were spending too much time on the Russia investigation.
'I mean, I don't agree with that. I think it's an absurd statement, OK? Absurd,' Kasich said.
He agreed, though, that the country needed 'leadership out of the executive.'
'This is a great opportunity for commonsense steps that can be taken just in the area of background checks,' he said. 'There should be no ability to do a casual sale without somebody having to find out who they're selling the gun to and what is involved.'
'The president should be for that,' Kasich added.
What the governor moreso advocated was for legislation to be crafted at the local level.
'Where we have to effect this, I believe, is at the local level and the statehouse, because, because you can have greater access to politicians who serve in the state legislature, in a county commissioner, in a city council,' the Ohio governor offered. 'there's where you need to put the pressure and call these people out.'

In Ohio, Kasich said, he's formed a committee to look at potential moves, including 'full background checks,' how to handle people that have, as Kasich put it, 'emotional problems,' and a potential bump stock ban.
A bump stock is a device that turns semi-automatic weapons into automatic ones and became part of the gun control vocabulary after the October concert shooting in Las Vegas, in which 58 people were killed and 851 were injured.
'I was talking to a friend of mine this morning, he's a big collector. I said, "If all of the sudden, you couldn't buy an AR-15, what would you lose?"' Kasich said, referencing the gun Nikolas Cruz used in the latest massacre and one that has often been used in the mass shooting around the country in recent years.
'Would you feel as though your Second Amendment rights would be eroded because you couldn't buy a God-darn AR-15?' Kasich continued.
'There are the things that have to be looked at. And action has to happen before – and, look, you're never going to fix all of this, but commonsense gun laws make sense,' Kasich added.
Kasich said if his committee doesn't come up with some solutions, 'I will put my own stuff out.'

Donna,

does the fear for a democratic president's actions really cause so much fear? I can't really imagine that, especially since he still needs a majority to pass such a law, and yet not all democrats agree on this issue. But you said it's an unjustified fear, and I guess that's the point.

So now all gun advocates will have bought ahead with guns during Obama's presidency and won't need any anymore... Neutral

Donnamarie - Seeing kids taking to the streets reminded me of a chant from way back: "Hey, hey LBJ how many kids did you kill today?". Maybe they could re-word it to "Hey, hey NRA how many kids did you kill today?". Seems to me the situations aren't that different - young kids being put in the line of fire by selfish, power hungry old men.

Great point Lizzy.  Instead of the line of fire being Vietnam it’s American classrooms!

Carol, the hardcore 2nd Amendment advocates have always held conspiratorial views that the Federal Government is coming to take their guns.

We've discussed the 2nd Amandment and gun control here endlessly, and I think we all here agree that there has to be a stricter gun control. When the 2nd Amandment was started, there weren't guns like today, that happened more than 200 years ago. So there was no chance somebody could shoot more than 80 people within a few minutes from a distance od several hundred yards. There are guns for self-defending, and there are those produced for killing, and you should differ between them - if somebody really thinks that he needs a gun for self-defending.
Because
- when a burglar breaks into your home and must be aware that you have a gun ready, he will be armed as well and willing to use his gun
- when a policeman controls drivers and must be aware of drivers with guns in their cars (combined with alcohol, drugs or simply with fear), they will be willing to use their own guns
- when a mentally ill person is able to buy any gun, it's more likely that he uses it
- when a person who's depressive, has free access to guns, it's more likely that he uses the gun instead of rethinking if there are alternatives
- when a person misunderstands a situation and tries to protect himself or others and has a gun ready, the situation might escalade and innicent people mjght be injured or killed.

And that's apart from those who simply love guns and those who let their toddlers play with guns and those who present their kids with guns on their birthday. This has nothing to do with a demand for safety!

President Donald Trump has slammed Oprah Winfrey for what he calls a 'biased, incorrect' interview with voters.
'Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes,' Trump tweeted late Sunday, hours after the episode aired.
On the CBS show, Winfrey quizzed seven Michigan voters who voted for Trump and seven who voted against him.
'The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!' Trump wrote.

Winfrey's questions were wide-ranging but often pressured Trump's supporters to defend him.

'Okay, so polls are showing that respect for the United States is eroding around the world. Do you care what the world thinks of the United States?' Winfrey asked.

Do you think Oprah was biased in her 60 Minutes interview of Michigan voters?

Yes
No
Winfrey's next question: 'There have been some members of Congress, including Republicans, questioning his stability and fitness for office. What do you think of that, and do you believe he has the temperament to be president?'
The questions sparked a spirited back-and-forth, with Trump's supporters and detractors both making their points.
Winfrey first spoke with the panel of voters in Grand Rapids, Michigan in August 2017, for a 60 Minutes episode that aired the following month.
The voters kept in touch with each other through a private Facebook group continuing to discuss national events and argue politics.
'Members from opposite sides of the divide actually became friends, organizing outings and talking every day in a private Facebook chat group,' Winfrey said in the introduction to the follow-up segment on Sunday. 'All of that made us want to go back.'

Winfrey has been publicly floated as a presidential contender after her rousing speech in support of the 'Me Too' movement at the Golden Globes last month.
However she has repeatedly denied she has any desire to run, most recently speaking with 60 Minutes in an interview that aired on Valentine's Day.
Winfrey told 60 Minutes that she was 'stunned' that she suddenly was being named as someone who could run for the highest office in the land.
'I am actually humbled by the fact that people think I could be the leader of the free world, but it's just not in my spirit,' Winfrey said. 'It's not in my DNA.'
'I was just trying to give a good speech,' the talk show host said. 'I was looking for a way to express what was going on in this moment in terms of gender and class and race.'

This is Trump's prayer
The Diabolical Narcissist’s Prayer
That didn’t happen.
And if it did happen, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was that bad, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is a big deal, that’s not my fault.
And if it was my fault, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did mean it…
You deserved it.
Amen.

Groups of students from Washington DC staged the protest on Monday on a road leading to the White House.
They took turns lying on the road for three minutes - the same amount of time 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz went on a firing spree at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last week.
Other students stood by holding signs that read 'Am I next?' and 'Is Congress or the NRA making our laws?'

It was organized by Teens For Gun Reform - a group created by local students following the deadly Florida shooting last week.
Protesters started the protest at about 12.30pm on President's Day.
A Facebook post on the group's page said the lie-in was meant to be a 'representation of the victims of school shootings'.
'By doing this, we will make a statement on the atrocities which have been committed due to the lack of gun control, and send a powerful message to our government that they must take action now,' the group wrote.
Their lie-in protest comes as students staged walkouts, sit-ins and other protests on school campuses across the country in a bid to push lawmakers to pass tougher gun laws.

Thousands of students, parents and community members rallied on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during the March for Action on Gun Violence.
Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High spoke passionately during the rally, pleading with lawmakers to change the nation's gun laws.

The NRA and also politicians want all teachers to be armed to be able to protect their students in school shootings.
There are several answers to this demand IMO:
1. You can't tell everybody to carry a gun and use it. There are people who would reject this demand (I'd be one of them). Does this mean they wouldn't be allowed to work as teachers anymore, no matter how good they are as teachers?
2. The teachers wouldn't just have to carry the gun (and the ammo of course) with them all the time while at school, they'd also need to go to shooting ranches or other places to train to shoot regularly.
3. They'd also need to find out when it's really necessary to shoot and when not, need to calculate the position right. There are toy guns out there that look so real. Just imagine there are kids playing with toy guns, and a teacher misunderstands this and shoots the kids. They have the responsibility for other peoples' lifes and have to deal with it.
4. When carrying a gun and ammo, they'd have to make sure that no pupil has any access to it. So in case it happens (just imagine a kid has an accident or is sick and the teacher helps him and somebody else grabs the gun), they have to deal with it. And what about the liability law?
5. What if a teacher gets depressive or has a mental disease? Should he be allowed to carry a gun? Certainly not. Does this automatically mean he's not allowed to work as a teacher anymore? And what if nobody notices the mental disease and the teacher uses his gun by killing the kids ibstead of protecting them? How often do they need to go to medical checks? Every month to make sure they are okay?

But first and most importantly:
They are teachers whose job it is to teach our kids, not toplay wild west!

So let's arm the kids instead...

Well the NRA and gun advocates will say that a well armed citizenry is a safe citizenry.  This is their logic.  That logic reeks of a Wild West mentality.

Carol,  the points you bring up definitely show why the idea of teachers being armed is so asinine.  I have heard many teachers say outright they would refuse to carry guns on school property.  The closest schools can get to reasonable improved security is to have students go through metal detectors or be frisked upon entering their school.  And entry points would be specifically designated.  Security guards could be put at all entry points to schools.  What would be needed to accomplish these measures?  MONEY.  Who is going to fund these efforts?  Local jurisdictions or the federal government?  State and local governments are already struggling with their budgets.  Under Trump, our Federal Government is doing its best to cut money for services that benefit citizens and cut monies it has typically provided to the states.

To me the answer to making our schools and other public areas safe again is stronger gun regulation, including banning the private ownership of any semi automatic weapons.

I lay this whole situation at the feet of the NRA and their Russian sponsors who are using them to destabilize our society. I pray Robert Mueller finds substantial proof of the $$ connection between the NRA and Russia - and, through the NRA to Trump. Enough is enough.

Just days after 17 people were senselessly murdered at a Florida high school, a White House official has said the tragedy was a 'reprieve' after back-to-back of scandals in the West Wing.
'For everyone, it was a distraction or reprieve,' the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Washington Post.
'A lot of people here felt like it was a reprieve from seven or eight days of just getting pummeled.'
For about a week it seemed like the Trump administration couldn't get a break.

DailyMail.com revealed that White House secretary Rob Porter, who was dating communication director Hope Hicks, was accused of abusing two of his wives.
It was then reported that senior White House officials swept the allegations aside when he was appointed.

She shared her story just weeks after it was reported that Trump had sex with porn star Stormy Daniels in July 2006, and that his lawyer paid her $130,000 in hush money just before the 2016 election.
But none of that seemed to matter when 19-year-old gunman Nikolas Cruz entered his former high school in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday and killed 17 people, including 14 children.

First it was revealed by DailyMail.com that domestic abuse allegations against senior aide Rob Porter were ignored. It was also revealed that Porter was dating White House aide Hope Hicks. Porter is pictured on February 5

The White House official said that the tragedy forced the administration to focus on more serious issues, like consoling the victims and trying to heal the nation, instead of 'trivial West Wing drama.'
'But as we all know, sadly, when the coverage dies down a little bit, we'll be back through the chaos,' the official said.
Republican strategist Michael Steel echoed those feelings to the Post.
'From an awful, cynical, purely political point of view, the tragic events in Florida probably helped the White House this week by distracting from the awful wave of scandal and bad news they have faced,' Steel said.

Kelly and White House Counsel Donald McGahn still haven't said what they knew about the allegations that Porter (pictured with his alleged mistress Hope Hicks) domestically abused his two ex-wives, when they knew it or why they declined to act until DailyMail.com broke the story two weeks ago.
Just after the shooting, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly was already planning to address the news media from the briefing room about his role in the mishandling of the domestic abuse allegations against Rob Porter, the former staff secretary.
Tuesday, before the shooting, rumors spouted that Kelly could be at risk of losing his job in a matter of days, maybe even hours.
But after the tragedy, the embattled Chief of Staff actually traveled with the president to Mar-a-lago for the long weekend.
That brief hiatus has given the White House time to solidify their stances on the major scandals, which are sure to resurface in the media in a matter of days.
Republican Strategist Ron Bonjean told the Post that the tragedy in Florida 'turned the page' on the scandals.
'They're going to come back,' he explained. 'But what it does do is give the White House a chance to collect itself and, if they can, organize a communications strategy and get their ducks in a row.'
For example, on Friday Kelly released a five-page memo outlining changes to the security clearing process. This will hopefully silence questions about the process, but could raise another potential problem about the fact that Jared Kushner still does not have clearance.

Pruitt (pictured February 12), on the other hand, has attracted scrutiny over his pricey first-class travel, domestic and international. He was forced to cancel a trip to Israel amid the attention last week
But there are still a lot of things that officials in the White House have to get their heads around.
For example, it is still not clear how the White House will handle the Rob Porter scandal.
Kelly and White House Counsel Donald McGahn still haven't said what they knew about the allegations that he domestically abused his two ex-wives, when they knew it or why they declined to act until DailyMail.com broke the story two weeks ago.
The public accounts issued by the White House after the articles were published differed from sworn testimony by FBI Director Christopher A Wray last week, something which White House officials will no doubt have to explain away.
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has also opened an investigation into the White House's handling of the Porter allegations.
Additionally, the White House has yet to say much publicly about the travel expenditures of cabinet secretaries Shulkin and Pruitt.
The VA inspector general said in a report last week that Shulkin doctored an email and made false statements to create a pretext so the government would use taxpayer dollars to pay for his wife's 10-day trip to Europe in 2017.
The report also said he improperly accepted Wimbledon tickets and brought along a government aide as his 'personal travel concierge.'
Pruitt, on the other hand, has attracted scrutiny over his pricey first-class travel, domestic and international. He was forced to cancel a trip to Israel amid the attention last week.

And on top of all of that, on Friday special counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13 Russians who attempted to spread disinformation before, during and after the 2016 presidential election
Former Playboy model McDougal also told the New Yorker last week that she had an affair with Trump starting in 2006.
This came just after the news that an attorney for Stephanie Clifford - whose porn star name is Stormy Daniels - said the dancer is now free to talk about her alleged affair with Trump. Her lawyers said that Trump's longtime lawyer Michael Cohen violated their nondisclosure agreement by acknowledging that he'd paid her $130,000.
Daniels has now announced a national tour between now and November, and will make appearances all over the country.
And finally, ousted senior aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman continues to bash West Wing officials during her appearances on the reality TV show 'Celebrity Big Brother.'
And on top of all of that, on Friday special counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13 Russians who attempted to spread disinformation before, during and after the 2016 presidential election.
Trump addressed this briefly on his Twitter on Saturday - but the issue is sure to come up as soon as press coverage of the Florida shooting dies down.

Edward Charles Osgood, 14, was arrested on Saturday in St. Petersburg, Florida
At least a dozen copycats have been arrested in school shooting threats across the country, less than a week after 17 died in the Florida high school massacre that shocked the nation.
Edward Charles Osgood, 14, was arrested on a written threat to kill charge on Saturday in St. Petersburg, Florida, after allegedly posting a menacing photo on Snapchat.
'Round 3 on Florida on Tuesday' read the caption, as Osgood stands in the photo posted Friday holding what appears to be a semi-automatic rifle.

Students at Lealman Innovation Academy, which Osgood attends, quickly reported the disturbing image to police, who rushed to interview the teen.
'I know why you are here, because of the photo,' Osgood told the Pinellas County deputies when they arrived, according to investigators.
Osgood explained that he'd seen a recent Snapchat post of a masked man with a gun promising 'Round 2 on Florida' and thought it was 'messed up', cops said. A teen in Spartanburg, South Carolina was arrested for the 'Round 2' threat.

It's only the latest in a string of sickening copycat school-shooting threats to sweep across the nation, landing the kids involved in a world of trouble.
In Morganton, North Carolina, police rushed to Patton High School on Monday morning after a student reported that another kid had threatened to 'shoot up the school'.
Mackenzie Rae Swink, 17, was charged with making a false report concerning mass violence on educational property.
She is being held at the Burke-Catawba District Confinement Facility. Bail was set at $50,000.
Police in Toledo, Ohio said on Monday that Christian Costet, 19, had been arrested for allegedly threatening to 'shoot up' Waite High School.
Cops recovered a replica rifle that Costed had allegedly posed with in photos. He was charged with inducing panic.
'There is no such thing as "this was just a joke",' Toledo Police Chief George Kral said in a statement. 'With mass shooting incidents increasing exponentially in our country, we will investigate and prosecute every threat to the full extent of the law.'

The a gun owner took a stand for gun control by sawing off the barrel of his AR-15 instead of selling it.
Scott Pappalardo from New York recorded a poignant video of himself destroying the gun in response to the deadly shooting in Parkland, Florida, last week.
He chose to render the gun useless instead of sell it, so it will 'never be pointed at someone else'.
'I've decided today, I'm going to make sure this weapon will never be able to take a life. The barrel of this gun will never be pointed at someone,' Pappalardo said. He said he owned the gun for target shooting and had owned it for 30 years.

Pappalardo spoke of the desire to keep his gun out of harmful hands, which he couldn't guarantee by selling it - so he cut the barrel off with an electric saw
Scott Pappalardo of New York State said that he was destroying his gun because of the recent mass shooting that left 17 people dead. Pappalardo also weighed the Second Amendment, of which is a supporter, against the danger and death that guns can cause.
Pappalardo said: 'Is the right to own this weapon more important than someone's life?'
In the video, Pappalardo says that weapons similar to his AR-15 have been used in other mass shootings.  He also said that in the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings in 2012, he'd happily sacrifice his guns to save the life of a child.

Pappalardo also said he chose not to sell the gun because in that instance, there is still a chance that it could be used for a violent act.
While he says that he enjoys shooting for fun at targets, he doesn't want his weapons used for violent purposes.

Katie Cornelis, from Connecticut, said she gave the doorstops to her two nieces
A woman's poignant Facebook post advising parents to give children doorstops so they can obstruct shooters at school has gone viral in the wake of the Florida massacre.
Katie Cornelis, from Connecticut, said she handed out the doorstops to her two nieces after 27 people - mostly children - were slaughtered at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
She said that, 'in light of the recent shooting', she wanted to 'share this with all parents' - adding that she 'always' carries hers in her purse.

Cornelis added: 'It truly pained me when I handed it to them, and I didn’t want to scare them, but it was out of love and they understood.
'Sure it’s small, but it can be powerful in keeping you safe if you ever have to barricade yourself in a room. If a gunman shoots out the door lock it will still keep the door from opening and may just buy you some time.'
She also said she was 'really sad' to be posting the advice, but stressed: 'A security expert shared this tip with me so I wanted to pass it on.'

These kids simply frighten me to death! I just hope it was a call for help, but I don't know how they got access to guns. I mean, a gun (if you really think you need one)  should always be kept locked and unloaded, the ammo kept seperately!

Yesterday, a 19 year old student stabbed his ex-girlfriend at their school, just about 15 miles away, she's from a village nearby my own village. He injured her seriously, but she's okay after a surgery. My sister told it to me and said at once 'I bet he's a refugee or an immigrant!' I told her to s...t up until it's proven, but Germans would never do that Rolling Eyes. In the evening, the police made clear that the young man is no immigrant, he's German. When I called my sister to tell her, she replied: 'I bet the police is lying, I've read on facebook that he's an immigrant'. When I asked her if the person on facebook actually witnessed it, she said 'No, but he said that's typical for young Turks'. I was so fed up that I replied 'And it's typical for Germans to kill jews' before interrupting our talk. She just rang me back to complain about my 'unappropriate comparison'. I tried to explain that these are prejudices, based on facts or simply on rumors and exaggeration and that it may cause a lot of harm to claim something like that which is based on no facts.
I sometimes doubt that we were raised the same way by the same parents...

Some parents give their kids guns as gifts, a lot of them don't keep their guns locked up.

The people Cruz was living with thought they had the only key to the gun safe. My brother owns guns

the safe has a lock which you need a code for no key.

At a time when crime levels are lower than they've been in years it seems these pro-gun people are convinced that we're on the brink of some sort of apocalypse that they won't survive unless they're armed to the teeth. I find it ironic that they're scared when they're the ones with the guns! Who do they think is coming for them? Godzilla?

And in the meantime, while they're waiting for the great attack, members of their ranks are the ones causing all the carnage. Sometimes I wish we cold put them all in one arena and make them keep shooting until no one is left standing - then we could bury all their precious guns right along with them. Not a nice thought, I know, but I've had it with them and their selfish stupidity. They need to take some F*#&*@ing responsibility!

It is stupidity Lizzy.  And ignorance.  Incredibly it’s the Feds that scare these people...more so than any monster.  It’s irrational IMO which makes it so difficult to argue with them about gun regulation.

Carol, it is remarkable how your sister justifies her position regardless of the real facts.  That’s what’s happening here too.  This is what is so damn dangerous about the proliferation of fake news on social media.

Donnamarie - If they keep trying to kill everyone else pretty soon the Feds will come after them. Self-fulfilling prophecy!
