Katie, Ive got B&J's Karamel Sutra Core in my freezer at the moment. Chocolate, vanilla, chocolate chips and caramel. Delish! I love cinnamon buns and I love ice cream so sounds like a great combo. Will check it out
Interesting transition .... from sex to ice cream. Hmm ....l

More intrigue on Jennifer Robinson, Doughty Street Chambers, the Labour party, Papua New Guinea instead of Brexit, and Julian Assange.........

I'm OK thank you....I do still visit most days, I just stopped posting because it seemed to aggravate "one/some" of the other members and then they would start all the weird posts on IMDB (discussion boards shut down now) and Just Jared so...
Does this mean we'll see you here more often? You've been missed!

Tomorrowland has been running on Starz this week here in the US. Am I the only person on the planet who thinks it's not that bad? Could have been better, but still watchable.

Re: July 2017 Chit Chat
Nah, just easy to please - especially where George is concerned.
Maybe it's the teacher in me, but I still think Disney missed a huge educational opportunity when they didn't take the theme of the movie farther. They could have developed a whole science/futuristics curriculum in conjunction with schools and teachers across the country. They'd have made a fortune, too, with theme related materials.( J.K. Rowling created an empire when she signed on with Scholastic Book Clubs. The Harry Potter books were sold in pretty much every school in the country and gave her a built i audience for the films.)
They could have even created an actual Tomorrowland like the one in the movie for students with exceptional abilities. Coulda, woulda, shoulda ... too bad they missed their chance.

Re: July 2017 Chit Chat
I rather liked Tomorrowland, and I liked George in it.
But, yes, there were lots of missed opportunities in the writing, directing, and marketing (promotions, tie-ins, education).

Re: July 2017 Chit Chat
I just returned from Oxfordshire where my family and I spent a lovely week with our twinning group. We did really interesting trips and visited fantastic places (including Oxford, London, Berkeley Castle, the Cotswolds, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Gloucester and Marlborough, not forgetting the Belgish city of Antwerp which we visited on our journey). Most important was the friendship, talks and hospitality we shared.
It was a week worth remembering. Thanks to Britain!

Re: July 2017 Chit Chat
Carolhathaway - I really envy you. The trips you take to visit your "twin city" and friends in the UK sound wonderful! I'm glad you got to do so much and had such a good time. (Quick question: Some people claim to feel "vibrations" at Stonehenge. Did you? Did it seem extraordinarily spiritual or other-worldly? Just curious. )
Did you take your children? Did they enjoy it as much as you? I only ask because I know traveling with kids can be challenging. If they did go with you, I hope they enjoyed the trip as much as you did.

Re: July 2017 Chit Chat
Lizzy,
yes, I feltthat Stonehenge really is something very special. Not sure if I felt vibrations, but just to think about why they built it, why they built it at that special place, how they built it, how they transported these big stones - one sort came from Wales, hundreds of miles away... It's definetely an extraordinary experience to visit it.
I had been to Stonehenge in the 1980s, and at that time we were able to walk between the stones, we even had a picnic there. There were hardly any visitors there, and a busy road was located next to it.
Now the road is further away, there are lots of parking places and busses transport thousands of tourists every day. There's a fence around the stones to keep the visitors at a distance (which allows you to take pictures of the stones without lots of people), but you're still close enough to feel and imagine what it must have meant and still means.
I also enjoyed visiting the cathedral in Salisbury which is said to have inspired Ken Follett to have written 'The Pillars of the Earth', and you can certainly imagine why. In Gloucester, during our freetime, we also went to the cathedral because lots of the scenes from the first free Harry Potter movies were filmed there. When we entered the cathedral, a volunteer asked us if we'd like to see anything particular. We told her that we'd like to know something about this (besides of the usual things), then she called another volunteer who gave us an one hour tour and told us everything about the shooting. Many details we'd never know about otherwise, it was just fantastic.
My twins really enjoyed this journey, called it the best holidays ever. Although, of course, it was quite stressful.

Re: July 2017 Chit Chat
Carolhathaway - It sounds fantastic. I'm glad the twins enjoyed it - and are old enough that they'll remember the trip. When we were kids we all used to pile into my uncle's old army truck and drive to Lake Erie to fish and swim. All the cousins went - about 10 of us in all - and rode in the back of the truck on blankets, bumping all the way. We had great times, but my younger cousins don't really remember any of it. They just say "I'll take your word for it'" or "O.K., if you say so."
I had a professor once who told us all about the cross-country trips he took with his children when they were quite little, They drove to California, the Grand Canyon, Florida and lots of other places but his children swear they never left the state of NY. He said they were too young to remember all the trips they took and even when he shows them photos he took of them in all these places they still don't believe him.
Glad you're all home safe and sound .
