I cannot possibly imagine the total frustration of all those involved in this process (and all the work involved) at the complete lack of action and will to call anybody to account.

We've often discussed it here in 'The Serious Side' that there's no development in this conflict. Years ago, the whole western world agreed that Assad has to lose power to make peace, now the opposition seems to be the bad guy, and we have to live with Assad to end this conflict? It is frustrating and hard, but is there an alternative for peace? IMO not.

Those are very brave words from Amal Clooney.
No wonder George is proud of his wife.

It's such a sad sad sad situation when 

nothing is seen to be done by time UN.

Is that why George resigned from being a 
UN Ambassador for Peace ?

But it could also be that the timing was to do with how much involvement Amal had there at the time - maybe he didn't want it to look like nepotism.....or he wanted to be totally independent of the UN when he set up The Sentry.........

I think he said he resigned because he was unhappy with the way the UN was operating in S. Sudan. Much like Carla Del Ponte, he was disappointed that little was being done to resolve the conflicts in the region.
