Refugee camp near Lake Como - right wing online publications cackle with glee

Post by Katiedot on Thu 13 Apr 2017, 07:50

Obviously biased, right-wing "reporting" going on here, but why not talk about it?  I think they may be surprised that George won't be upset and may indeed get involved.

Refugee Advocate George Clooney May Now Meet Hundreds, Up Close and Personal

 Frank Mann
April 12, 2017

Hollywood A-lister and fierce open borders proponent George Clooney is in luck – an enormous refugee camp has sprung up by Lake Como, where the actor and his wife have a home.

Hundreds of third world immigrants from mostly Arab and Muslim-majority nations in western Asia and Africa are now blocked from reaching their goal – the European nations to the north with their supremely generous social welfare systems. They are blocked by a decision of the Swiss government to, in an effort of self-preservation, close its border with Italy.
As the ragtag groups of immigrants wait for human smugglers to somehow get them to points north, they have set up tents and strewn trash on the land next door to Clooney’s resort mansion.

George and Amal Clooney meet with Angela Merkel

Clooney has spoken at length about the need for western nations to take in all the immigrants and refugees that they possibly can. Question for Mr. Clooney: why only western nations? Why not lands inhabited by folks who mostly share the same faith and have much more similar cultures?

Clooney has not been shy about slamming Donald Trump for limiting immigration to the United States, with criticisms about the building of a southern border wall, deportation of illegal immigrants, and a temporary ban on certain countries that are havens for Muslim jihadis.

George has described these common-sense national sovereignty policies of the President as “massively stupid,” while describing Trump as “a xenophobic fascist.”

Clooney has attempted to shame Americans who prefer limits on immigration as “forgetting who we are.” He has said, “You forget that these are people who didn’t just leave their country for no reason at all. These are people who left because [of] a terrible tragedy.”

Mr. Clooney would do well to educate himself and take a stroll to the end of his property and have a good look at those have swollen the numbers at the Lake Como immigrant encampment. He may notice a very disproportionate number of “refugees” who are able-bodied young men of fighting age, not exactly what one would expect if these people were all, in fact, refugees.

The truth is, most of the people fleeing their homelands and heading for Europe have not experienced tragedies, but are instead looking for the nanny states of Europe to take care of them. They are not choosing to stay home and improve their own countries. And when they reach their desired destinations, most will not assimilate into the cultures that welcome them.

Garbage from Lake Como Immigrants

The thoughts of some of George’s neighbors on the immigrant influx to Lake Como are informative.
Federica, 55-year-old housewife, said:
‘A small number of immigrants is not a problem but now they are so many. You see them arriving at that the [sic] San Giovanni station. They are not poor hungry refugees but they are big and strong. People here in Como don’t like them. There are simply too many of them.’
Santi, 26-year-old chauffeur, said:
‘It is good for Switzerland that they have closed the border to migrants but it is bad for Italy. We simply don’t have the resources to deal with all these new people. Italy has lots of problems of our own without having to try to deal with other people’s problems. It is a complex situation.’
Maria, a local restaurant owner, said:
‘I don’t want them here. Italy has enough problems without trying to solve the problems of the world. We [Italy] should not have to deal with these people on our own. Europe [the EU] does nothing to help us. Now they make us – me, my family and other Italian families – pay for them.’
In 2016 George and Amal Clooney met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and thanked her throwing open the gates of Europe to the immigrant masses.
What the reality of millions of immigrants swarming into Europe means to the rank-and-file citizen of those nations likely never crossed George’s mind, insulated from it all in his Lake Como hideaway.

But now, perhaps, the reality will sink in for this celebrity utopian, as that reality has made its way to his very doorstep.
Cosmic justice, indeed.

George Clooney BEGS For Open Borders – Regrets It When Refugees Erect Camp In His Front Yard…

Hollywood A-lister George Clooney was one of the celebrities who fought hardest for the rights of refugees, demanding that world leaders open their borders to take them in. It’s safe to say that he’s now regretting this in a big way…

Breitbart reported that a massive makeshift refugee camp has been set up in Lake Como, the popular celebrity vacation spot in Italy where Clooney keeps a home. Gangs of migrants began camping out there after Switzerland closed it’s southern border with Italy. Left with nowhere to go, the refugees stayed put on Lake Como as they waited for smugglers to lead them into the northern part of Europe.

Footage of this camp can be seen in the video above this story.

The camp is just a few steps away from the multimillion dollar lakeside mansion of Clooney and his fellow immigration activist wife Amal.

The Clooney enjoy escaping to Lake Como to get away from the spotlight in Hollywood each summer. That’s why these A-listers can’t possibly be happy to see that migrants have set up flimsy dwellings and scattered trash all around their glamorous abode.

In the end, the Clooneys can only blame themselves for this mess, as they have met with world leaders like German Chancellor Angela Merkel demanding that they let in more refugees. Clooney himself has slammed President Donald Trump as a “xenophobic fascist” who wants to “ban Muslims from the country.”

After seeing the devastation Muslim migrants have caused in his own ritzy community, perhaps Clooney will come around to Trump’s way of thinking…

Ugh, THESE PEOPLE. George and Amal opened their L.A. home to refugees, so I doubt they'll have a problem with refugees being near their property.

Why no picture of the refugee settlement? No tents? No scary brown-skinned "men of fighting age" milling around? And that one picture of garbage looks suspiciously like it was taken outside someone's window in West Virginia. I've never been a refugee; however, if I were fleeing air strikes and famine, I don't think I'd take the time to bring my TV or bicycle, the frames of which you can see in the "trash from Lake Como immigrants". In the news footage I've seen, there doesn't seem to be a lot of room on those rafts for personal belongings.
Clooney-love. And they said it wouldn't last

This is last summer's stories when refugees camped near Como City's railway station several miles from George's home.

They were there because they hoped to cross the Swiss border nearby to get to Germany. Swiss authorities had allowed a small number through every day. They then closed the border which meant the refugees were blocked. The Como authorities arranged temporary accommodation for them in an unused facility with security staff.
