This press release is popping up all over the trades. Interesting that they're handing the writing over to someone else. Makes me wonder if George will just produce or if he will be more involved later in the process (act/direct).

That's the point. I didn't think the Sully feat was as complicated as the movie SULLY indicated. Hope they could explore more details out of it.

George has decades of film work from acting, producing directing behind him. He's been involved in over 50 films and TV shows. I think he picks his projects all by himself, and his marriage hasn't changed that. So, I'm guessing it's close to George's hart, that's why he's doung it. 

And what a wonderful project, too.

I think George chose this because it is a wonderful thing these people do and he wants others to know about it.

@amaretti, this is not a "good story" its heartbreaking everyday reality and not only happening in Syria. Just look at the situation still ongoing in Sudan!
I hope this documentation will be about the "White Helmets" and not a political documentation about the Assad regime.

Time and a place for everything.... I really don't know if this is it...I just don't know.... my gut is saying stand back.... As if standing back has done anyone any good...

And it's also heartbreaking, as Rachel said, and ongoing in many countries and also unlikely to stop anytime soon.

VT has covered this extensively, how Jared Cohen, Google Idea Groups, Movements.org and others were responsible for those chemical weapons being supplied to the terrorists, how the smuggling from Gaziantep in Turkey south to Aleppo took place, therefore we are pleased to see this information being confirmed and reaching a wider audience, within the Arab world at least.

It was our report, along with CIA and British confirmations, that Trump ignored with his ‘wag the dog’ missile attack on Syria, ordered while stuffing his orange face with chocolate cake and adhering closely to the directions of his masters in Tel-Aviv.

Terrorist Confesses to Working with White Helmets in Aleppo

Terrorist Walid Hendi confessed to taking part in fabricating videos and photos for a Turkish TV channel while working with the so-called “White Helmets” that depict neighborhoods and areas in Aleppo being attacked with chemical weapons in order to blame the Syrian Arab Army.

In confessions broadcast by the Syrian TV on Saturday evening, al-Hendi said that he joined the “white Helmets” three years ago in return for receiving funds from the so-called “local council” and financers from Arab countries, SANA reported.

Hendi said that they were told that there will be chemical attacks, and they were given protective clothing and they staged a fake chemical attack that was filmed by a Turkish channel, adding that they were filmed by two people called Ibrahim al-Haj and Mohammad al-Sayyed as they sounded sirens and brought stretchers to transport supposed injured people, with the intent of posting these videos online and accuse the Syrian Arab Army of carrying out a chemical attack.

The terrorist also confessed to taking part in fabricating videos and photos depicting alleged attacks several times.

A Russian diplomatic and military source had revealed on May 4 that reporters working for Qatar’s Al Jazeera TV filmed a fake chemical attack against civilians in Idlib province in order to blame the Syrian Army. In turn, terrorist Imad Abdeljawad said in similar confessions that terrorists in Aleppo possessed toxic chemicals and that he took part in transporting them.

Abdeljawad said that he was asked to transport what was claimed to be cleaning agents from al-Sukkari neighborhood to al-Ameriya neighborhood to cover up the fact that they were actually transporting dangerous chemicals, adding that after unloading materials from two cars and starting with the third, they wanted to know what materials they were transporting because their smells was agitating, particularly since he suffered asthma.

He went on to say that he saw people in silvery clothing, protective masks, and long boots transporting the materials to a basement, and they looked through windows and saw them opening barrels and pouring a liquid from them into cylinders, and when the man in charge of the terrorists noticed that Abdeljawad and his cohorts were watching he expelled them and prevented them from bearing arms.

Back in January, army engineering units uncovered while combing the Old City neighborhoods in Aleppo an amount of chemical materials of Saudi origin left behind by terrorists, which included sulfur, chlorine, and other materials.

Yep. Hell of a thing to verify (or not) bearing in mind this is war.

There has been many a tweet about the legality of the White Helmets from any number of 'interested' parties. And someone needs reminding that this is not George Clooney's award-winning documentary.

Next point. Why on earth would Jared Cohen of Google - (Amal friend) - get involved in this?

So the Saudis are now involved? It's possible. The Saudi government and most of the country are Sunni so they would be arming fellow Sunnis against the Shias. Trump is about to sign a millions of dollars contract with them to supply arms!

And not so long ago there was footage on the twittersphere showing clearly labelled Made in Turkey chemicals among the rubble of a Syrian village.

Information and disinformation in the digital world..........

I've read comments tagged with George's name in comments in Instagram about this issue.
Of course we don't know what's true. We depend in reports from people in Aleppo and other war regions, and it's often questioned if these reports are true. When I want to report a certain point of view, I find as mich evidence for it as when I want to prove that the ones who are left, are rebel fighters or terrorists. You're right, Katie, the truth is the first casualty of any war. 
But I'd like to mention that the White Helmets won the Nobel Prize for Peace and I'm pretty sure that they check the evidence and background very carefully before announcing the winner.

Excellent point, Carolhathaway. Also, the "I told you so" tone of the article is a bit juvenile for a responsible news source. That doesn't mean there can't be some truth to what they say, but it does make it less believable - at least for me.

George didn't make the documentary or win awards for it. If it's not true George is a victim too. What's the point of blaming him?

This article from the Southern Poverty Law Center is from 2011 but gives a bit of insight on the bent of Veterans Today.  I don't know what to make of their claims in this story on the White Helmets. Carol makes a great point about the Nobel Peace Prize.  And the fact that the story's headline leads with George Clooney's name in my mind lends less credibility to VT's assertions.  Agree PAN, good way to get clicks.

But this isn't a responsible news source. It's a website created by people with an agenda that they want to promote.

Katie - I was trying to say that their attitude proved that they had an agenda and weren't to be trusted. They seem to hate everyone except the CIA and the British intelligence service.

When I looked up Tasnim News Agency and saw that it comes out of Iran, the whole thing made more sense.
