I like that the press isn't always shadowing George and Amal. They don't know the Clooneys every move. Just goes to show that the two of them have very full lives with lots of activities/social events that we and the press are clueless of ....

I just found it by googling George's name and there was an article in a German gossip magazine which mentioned that Keely had posted a photo on Instagram. So I tried to find it there which wasn't easy because I don't have an account there.

And - as I posted before - I like it that the press are not following them everywhere and that we don't know everything about their daily life (although I think that a visit to Buckingham Palace is something they do every day).

At this party you would have liked to fly on the wall. Prince Charles (67) invited last week highly selected guests in Buckingham Palace in London to celebrate the upcoming 40th anniversary of its foundation "The Prince's Trust." And no one has noticed it! But thankfully informed actress Keely Shaye Brosnan (52) a memorable snapshot of the evening. He shows it with husband Pierce Brosnan (62) and Prince Charles, stand by two other highly familiar faces: George (54) and Amal Clooney (37).

Piers Brosnan is a Worldwide Ambassador for the Princes Trust as is Kevin Spacey amongst others.

It's a great charity and the official photographer doesn't release all his photos. A password and verification for his account. Discretion and all that. The Royal Family are very good at that, and their PR machine is excellent

Not Melbert, but just to say that we would only know that if it was in the public domain i e a film premiere in aid of The Princes Trust or one of his charities.

But Buckingham Palace gala dinners and the pix of the event would only be released by the Trust or Buckingham Palace. All part of the etiquette. It's obviously quite an honour to be invited

I think this may be the start of some serious schmoozing on the basis of the Clooneys' activism and philanthropy.

Kevin Spacey is an Ambassador and he was a Director of the Old Vic for some years so for him that was the connection I imagine

Pierce is really good looking as well, but for me he doesn't have the charisma George has. Pierce's just too much Bond. Could you imagine George being James Bond? For me it wouldn't fit. He could be a very ironic Bond but not a very reliable...

That is not how the Trust works....unless there has been huge changes at the top..."feeling up" has never been something they have had to do.....Most ppl who give of their time and experience do so willingly and do not have to be coerced or wined and dined to do so.....BUT everything changes, so who knows....It could have been a "Paid" for seat.....but you would still require a heavy hitter behind you (by heavy hitter, that would be someone with a proven track record over many years participation within the Trust).....

The article by David Gergen, a political advisor and now journalist, on his visit to Italy to interview him says it all really, and another in Newsweek (big article on South Sudan and front cover) is impressive too

You could do the same with the Newsweek article too. I just don't have time right now to check it out. That article was from their February 28, 2011 issue.

Thanks for the help! Of course I could have googled myself but had assumed that the articles were already on COH. I remember that I mentioned a youtube video here a while ago. George had received an award by the Robert Kennedy and his father did the laudation and George was really moved by this. Somebody here asked for the link because she didn't know the video, and I had assumed that every old video here is well known... Wink
