I had a phone conversation with my mom earlier and we were "revisiting" my youth. I amazed her with my clear memory of grade school, etc. Then, we were discussing something alot more current and I suddenly developed CRS again (Can't Remember Sh*t). I hate when that happens!!!!

I like how the first poster has 'written and directed by George Clooney'. Looks like he might be putting himself up front and centre when it comes to doing the promotional stuff so, fingers crossed, we can look forward to some interviews and stuff. Let's hope so.

Ides of March moved up, now hitting the screens October 7th
Meanwhile, George Clooney‘s highly anticipated “Ides Of March” has moved up a week, now hitting screens on October 7th. Curiously, it throws the film right up against “Real Steel” and the Paul Rudd/Jennifer Aniston comedy “Wanderlust” but this will be skewing solely for the adults who don’t want to see metal things bang together or a goofy comedy. Loosely based on the 2004 Democratic primary run of Howard Dean, the Iowa-set story takes place just weeks before the state’s Democratic caucuses officially commence, following the exploits of a twenty-something presidential campaign spinmeister/wunderkind named Stephen Myers (Ryan Gosling) and the dirty pool he plays to get his candidate (played by Clooney) the nomination against a rival senator. Paul Giamatti will play the campaign manager of the rival senator, Marisa Tomei is a New York Times reporter and Evan Rachel Wood stars as an intern for Myers’ campaign. And if that heavyweight talent isn’t enough for you, Alexandre Desplat is scoring the film. [Deadline/BoxOfficeMojo]

Haven't heard anything about Real Steel, but don't think IOM will have to worry about Wanderlust just another one of the same movies that comes out twice a year starring JA.

Evan Rachel Wood is on the PR trail:

From access hollywood

LAST UPDATED: June 22, 2011 4:08 PM EDT

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Evan Rachel Wood hit the red carpet at the “True Blood” Season 4 premiere party in Los Angeles on Tuesday night with a striking new look – a short, blonde crop.

“It just felt right,” the actress told Access Hollywood of the change from her lengthy strawberry blonde locks to the petite blonde ‘do. “I had my hair super long and I was just ready for a change and I’ve always wanted to do it and never really had the guts and I just thought, ‘I wanna do it at least once, just chop it off.’”

The recent star of HBO’s “Mildred Pierce” said the cut had nothing to do with any upcoming role.

“No, it’s just for life. It’s just for me,” she said.

Evan still had her red locks when she filmed her return to “True Blood” Season 4, as Queen Sophie Anne, and the star confirmed fans will see a resolution of her royal’s Season 3 cliffhanger fight with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).

“I can’t reveal a thing, but I think people are going to be very shocked to see how that fight unfolds, for sure,” she said of what’s coming up on the show. “It’s a big deal.”

Beyond her “True Blood” return, Evan teamed up with the superstar cast of newly-single George Clooney and Ryan Gosling for the political thriller, “The Ides of March,” directed by the Oscar winning actor.

“George is amazing,” Evan said of her boss. “He’s an incredible, funny, generous man and I wish that every film I worked on was a George Clooney movie.”

As for what the movie entails, Evan said she’ll be playing a member of George’s staff with a very handsome love interest.

“He plays a politician running for office and I’m one of his interns who is having an affair with his press secretary who is Ryan Gosling,” she said. “It’s not a bad day at work. Not bad.”

“The Ides of March” will open at the Venice Film Festival on August 31. “True Blood” returns for its fourth season on HBO this Sunday at 9 PM.

Evan Rachel Wood: Clooney is amazing

By Cover Media on 23/06/2011

The actress, who is working with the newly single Hollywood heartthrob on new movie The Ides of March, couldn’t stop gushing about the actor-turned-director.

The 23-year-old even said that she wishes he would direct every movie she works on.

"George is amazing," Evan told Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the True Blood premiere. "He's an incredible, funny, generous man and I wish that every film I worked on was a George Clooney movie."

Evan, who recently chopped off her blonde locks and revealed a sleek short crop, also revealed that she had wanted to cut her hair for a while.

The True Blood star said that her new appearance was for her personal enjoyment, rather than a movie role.

"No, it's just for life. It's just for me,” she explained when asked if the cut was for an upcoming part. "It just felt right. I had my hair super long and I was just ready for a change and I've always wanted to do it and never really had the guts and I just thought, 'I wanna do it at least once, just chop it off.'"

@fluffy Ditto! I had mine short a long time ago. Never again, it’s a lot easier to use barrettes to hold it straight down my back with a helmet on. I take off the helmet, take out the barrettes and, shake it and there ya go. When it’s short, you might as well give up. You cannot keep the style going under a helmet!

George Clooney, the intern and a lagoon: a preview

George on the set
We read the script of The Ides Of March, Clooney's film on August 31 will open the Venice Film Festival ... And understand a few basic things. Guia Soncini

Veline Before, there were interns. Defined as dismissive definition of the moral corruption of power, understood as the temptations that lead to the collapse of a power system, designed as a metonymy that roam headlines without those who actually carry out that trade necessarily have to do with the story that says. The former Vellum in the life of George Clooney is no more, as you may have read in the hasty short articles in American newspapers and on dozens of pages of the Italian ones (for us it was a matter of financial pages: the end of the relationship between Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis is the loss of our only real export success, the failure of the Made in Italy). The intern is still however, is called Molly and is in The Ides of March, he directed the film that will open the Venice Film Festival. The intern, especially, in the monologue that is - this is a prediction made too early and too arrogant for me not to risk ridicule if it does not come true, but never mind - Ryan Gosling is nominated.

STEPHEN:
He never asked what would be different today if the world had not slipped an intern under the presidential desk? That sucked ... then maybe it to him on the sofa ... The fact is that Gore lost at that point than eight hundred votes against a kind of Goliarda University. He swept, had she not had to distance himself from a president who had put in those casinos. And then comes Iraq: two hundred thousand deaths from an intern
that has a pump in the Oval Office, and what lessons we learned from it? Do not fuck with the interns.

Stephen Ryan Gosling, Morris worked for the governor, candidate in the Democratic primary. What he is talking is the governor, or George Clooney. The head of the election campaign, Paul, Philip Seymour Hoffman. That campaign opponent, Tom, is Paul Giamatti. But the film revolves around Stephen, who in two days it is an idealist to realist. Farragut North, the play that Clooney and partner Grant Heslov have adapted for the cinema, had a sentence that contained the launch really like a Greek word for Americans: hubris, arrogance punished by the gods. To read the screenplay of Ides of March, however, the center of the story does not seem to be so much the arrogance of the governor who think they can do away with, as the shadow line that passes through when you realize that the game is bigger than you and that if you are so ambitious to want to play anyway, so you can not have moral qualms.
The day before, everyone seems more ambitious, more savvy, with more layers of fur on the stomach of Stephen. The day before, he's the one who tells a journalist (played by Marisa Tomei) who follows the campaign: "I thought we were friends." And she is the one who dismisses it thus: "Let's be realists, Steve: The only reason why you treat me well is that I write for the Times. Not because we're friends. Give me what I want, and I write better articles. Let us not pretend that there is something more. "
Farragut North is a Metro stop in Washington, in the im-prove to have an office to lobbyists, u-no in those studies by consultants pa-Gano much better and are much less stressful election campaigns or political roles so official said. Ideal landing place for early retirement of luxury or a fallback for those who have been forced to retire from active politics-before you have to want. The scene in which it is named for the first time at the beginning, Stephen talks with the governor and the situation is still quiet, is not none of the trouble that broke out in those two days will change the lives of all of Stephen, and morality.

STEPHEN
Look, between me and Paul is a huge difference. He would say anything to win. The only thing he believes is the winning point. Any tactic is fine, whatever.

GOVERNOR MORRIS
But not for you.

STEPHEN
Governor, I could do everything for a cause I believe. But I believe it.

GOVERNOR MORRIS
When you finish here, you will become a bad adviser.

STEPHEN
But I do not end here, until she goes on.

GOVERNOR MORRIS
So you still going well
for eight years. And then one bell'ufficetto
consultant, lunches at chic restaurants, seven hundred and fifty thousand U.S. dollars a year, do the pimp Senators Arab princes ...

STEPHEN
Being a pimp for former presidents ...

GOVERNOR MORRIS
So I'd better win.

Forty-eight hours later, nothing is as it first. There is no need for a dialogue, to understand that Stephen has only begun to believe in victory in his own. We have already talked about his choices, his actions, he had no scruples.
Because it triggers the mechanism that blows all balances, it takes a temptation. It is not the arrogance, the vanity. To rock out and Tom Duffy, capocampagna the rival candidate to the Democratic primary. Tom lure Paul, Tom, who wants to tear the competition, Tom knows that the ambitions of its chickens. And the weaknesses of those who thinks he has a moral mirror.

DUFFY
You have something others do not. What, exactly? Charm
is not the right word. It's more than that.
It is something that emanates. The attraction it exerts on people. All journalists
love you. Even those who hate you, even they love you. Te rides them as if they were pawns on a chessboard.
It seems that you will succeed without any effort. We both know it is exhausting work, always be on guard, carefully weigh
every word, every move. But, look outside, you do!
seem easy. They are afraid
because you do not understand how
You will succeed, and that do not understand it means that they love you. There is nothing that has more value in this field, the ability to earn the respect of people causing fear to exchange love.

If "The Usual Suspects" had taught us that the most successful trick of the devil is not convinced of its existence, the temptation of the Ides of March is embodied in a figure that is able to convince the innocent of his non-innocence. Only then his bluff revolt against him. Why awaken the ambitions of someone telling him he has demonic qualities manipulation triggers a mechanism by which he decides to use them, those qualities, she decided to pursue those ambitions. When, four years ago, there was talk of a film adaptation of Farragut North, had to be directed by Mike Nichols and starring Leonardo DiCaprio should have been. As a fallen angel, Gosling is a less obvious choice of casting. But you can bet, sure to win, that August 31 will not talk about the shadow line of Gosling, the treachery of Giamatti, the fragility of Seymour Hoffman, let alone the differences between how Nichols would direct this film and how it Clooney has directed. On August 31, will talk about Elisabetta Canalis.

They say that Clooney has vowed two years ago, when at a press conference for "Up in the Air" asked on behalf of the rumors that would be gay, never to give more interviews in Italy. They also say that, behind the smiling man of the world, was furious when, again two years ago, in Venice an envoy of the Hyenas made a pass at the news conference. It is in this sense, a huge gesture of faith in humanity to bring in Venice on his new film as director. The optimism of the will hope for an audience is an adult who asks him not a few of the interesting elements of the film: a governor who says he was raised Catholic but now her religion is the Constitution, the opponent capocampagna cynical gloss very realistic, "I was thinking: the Democratic Party candidate has ever an atheist?", the television interviewer who asks a question on abortion, the governor begins to say "The right of a woman to choose and ...», ' interviewer that he insisted: "So that's what I mean: the Democrats are not even able to call abortion with his name." The pessimism of reason tells us that Clooney will be there at the press conference, prepared to discuss major issues, and one of us will take the microphone, stand up and say that yes, okay, ambitions, politics, the dossier, the sex scandals, abortion, all very interesting, but tell us: why did you leave, with Elizabeth?

I have a copy of that video where George and Jason Reitman were at a press conference for UITA. One of the reporters was a guy from The Netherlands and referred to George as gay. They stopped the reporter immediately and George smiled through it but you could tell he was pissed.

Interesting article until they threw in the Eli bit (last paragraph)! Do you really think he’d answer that question? Who, in their right mind, would ask? No matter how much gossip is spewed, the Venice Film Festival is about quality of work, dedication, and determination. So what happens with George in Venice will be honorable and good! IMO
