George Clooney Applies For Permission For Further Home Renovations

George Clooney Has Filed Planning Paperwork Asking For Permission To Install A Tennis Court In The Grounds Of His Historic Home In Sonning, England.

The Ocean's Eleven star and his wife Amal have been renovating the $16 million (£10 million) Berkshire mansion since they purchased it after their 2014 wedding, and they are expected to finally move in later this year (15).
They were given permission to build a swimming pool, pool house, terrace, cinema and a small outbuilding, as well as install surveillance cameras around the grounds.
The couple also erected a fence between the nearby river and the estate, but were ordered to remove it following objections from an environmental group.
They now want to make further renovations and applied to local authorities for permission to install a hard-surfaced tennis court last month (Aug15).
A consultation period ends on 2 October (15) and councillors are expected to make a decision on 22 October (15).

Please explain to me why you would pay so much for a home, and then have to add so much to it to make it "home"??

PP - You pay the national debt for a property because the love of your life wants to live in England in a particular style that suits her.

You put in a theater, a pool and a tennis/basketball court because you have to live there, too so you might as well have some of the stuff you like. It can't be all closets and servant's quarters. Very Happy

Property prices here are very high anyway, and this is about the norm for a 17th century house of this size.......and I'm not at all sure what they were rumoured to have paid for it is right. It was on the market for a while, it has amazing grounds, stunning location, all those rooms - and what's the betting the tennis court will serve as a basketball court as well..........?

And if I had their money, I would have bought it! And have the interior designers for Soho House decorate it too.........
