George Clooney at his favourite sushi restaurant, Asanebo, in Studio City

A raw-cous night! George Clooney cuts a casual figure in jeans and leather jacket as he rolls out with pals for sushi dinner

While it was recently revealed that he dined on an eye-popping £3,000 worth of fine fare ahead of his wedding, George Clooney opted for a far more low-key dining experience on Wednesday.

The 53-year-old Hollywood actor was spotted enjoying a laidback meal with pals at his favourite sushi restaurant, Asanebo, in Studio City, California.

Cutting a casual figure in a black leather jacket teamed with a pair of navy jeans, the Oscar winner was notably without his 36-year-old wife, Amal Clooney, who is currently in Europe.

On the same day, the human rights lawyer was seen at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France, where she is to appear in a high-profile case against a Turkish politician who denies the killing of 1.5million Armenians in 1915 amounted to genocide.

As George remains in California, his most recent restaurant tab is highly likely to have been considerably less than what was spent on the eve of his September Venetian wedding to Amal.

It was recently revealed that his extravagant final meal as a single man consisted of a carb heavy seven courses to the tune of £3,000 – and it didn’t cost him a dime.

While Amal prepared for her big day, George indulged himself with five friends at the picturesque Italian city’s Ristorante da Ivo.

George – a regular patron – is believed to have given manager pal Giovanni Fracassi 10 minutes’ notice prior to turning up with his stag party friends, amongst them former supermodel Cindy Crawford’s husband Rande Gerber, and ordering five courses followed by two puddings.

‘For a man getting married ten hours later, he was really eating a lot,’ Fracassi told the Daily Mirror. ‘He sent back for seconds of risotto, both times wiping his plate clean with chunks of bread.

‘I gave him mint and chocolate ice creams. He really likes them. He ate three and took three to his room.’

During a previous visit to the Venice restaurant George – who owns a sprawling home on Lake Como – gifted Fracassi with a plate upon which he had drawn a picture of himself mooning with the words ‘To Gio! The Moon! La Luna!’

The restaurateur is believed to have been offered a six figure pay out for the item, but is unwilling to sell his prized possession.

The following day George married Amal in a stunning £8 million civil wedding ceremony, after which he was seen looking dapper in a grey Armani suit next to his new wife as a boat ferried them through the city.

But while his pre-wedding meal proved to be extravagant, the ten-minute service to British barrister Amal cost just €600.

Love those guys nights out! Didn't recognize the guy with George.

I'm assuming that Amal went back to London for a bit. Maybe she will check on the home renovations underway.

Even tho we haven't seen any pics I'm also assuming George is currently working on Hail Caesar.

First pointing up, then down- probably giving someone directions.  If it was for the benefit of the press, it would have been a different finger. Razz

George does the one finger and then in another pic does a two finger

"I'll take one sushi roll to go and my friend here will take two"

Thanks PAN for all the pics. I think George should own half this restaurant by now. He's there so much.

Does George really wear the same clothes to this restaurant every time? If it weren't for his friend standing next to him (where's Grant? Enquiring minds want to know!) these pics look pretty much the same as previous ones of him there!

Nah, I'm not really griping. Happy to see George out and about and looking well.

I love George's salt and pepper hair but there's a lot more salt now. Unfortunately I think he's gonna be completely white in five years. Not sure I'm ready for that. I'm sure he will look very distinguished (Cary Grant comes to mind) but I would rather he not go any more gray. And I hate the term "silver fox" attributed to him and other white haired men.

But we don't want him to "do a Tom Jones"

We like a natural George.
I hope his genes from his Dad will mean

Kind of make me  think of a condemned man's last meal.

And about the hair colour.  Waldo has probably dyed it  for years to get the right salt and peppar look. I seriously doubt that G is the only actor in Hollywood who hasn't  had beauty treament one way or the other.

Personally I don't think George has had his hair color treated in any way. From my impression of him and his vanity I just don't think that's him. In all of his simple grooming and lack of fussiness over his clothes it shows to me he has no interest in presenting himself other than who he really is. He's getting old, he knows it all to well and even makes fun of himself in that way.

Joanna, what's the "Tom Jones" look? Does he dye his hair? I haven't seen a picture of Jones in years.
