Just giving you an advance warning that it's possible that a person with a grudge against this site is going to create a new George Clooney site with the aim of copying this one and shutting it down.

Those of you with longer memories will remember the old Milano Cookie Aisle fan site. It, unfortunately, attracted a deranged fan who did her best to get the site shut down. She never succeeded but in the process she copied the coding of the site and set up a copycat version to fool fans into thinking that the original site had closed and to make them post in her site instead. She even copied posts and comments from the original site onto hers to make it seem legit.

There was a lot of confusion at this time and so to avoid that, i'm posting a message here that it might happen again.

There's no need to panic: this site is safe and can't be closed down or hacked. However, it may be possible to create a copycat site, using a similar layout and maybe copying over your posts.

There's nothing she can do other than copy and paste your posts. She can't access your account or get in touch with you in any way.

I don't know for certain that she'll do it, but just 30 minutes ago she made a threat to this site on IMDb and I'm sharing this information to alert everyone.

If you do come across new fan sites, please treat them with extreme caution.

The site she created seemed normal enough in the beginning and then went weirder and weirder and weirder. I believe this is the same deranged fan who posted that George was forced to date Canalis by satanists by the CIA (who he was working for) and also that Stacy Keibler was trying to kill her (the deranged poster) by placing poisonous spiders in her house.

It's all very sad (and occasionally unintentionally funny) but it's not something I'd recommend getting involved in if you can avoid. As you can see from the screenshot I've posted, she gets really nasty, really quickly.

I remember.....I liked the Milano Cookie Crumbs....never posted but enjoyed reading it. It is very sad and scary...as I've told you. We can only hope she gets help someday....she seems to go quiet for awhile then starts up again....glad she can't hack this site....I would miss everyone.... thanks!

I went on IMdB (against my better judgement) and she about 47 minutes ago mentions me (cindigirl) as the lady with the long blonde hair, petite but slightly overweight, describing me as a sockpuppet. First of all, I didn't even know what sockpuppet meant until she talked about it. And I'm not short, overweight or aged. I'm 5 foot 5 1/2 inches tall and weigh 130 pounds. So when she reads this I'm asking her to be better informed if she's going to publish a statement.

Patty when we met to see IOM I probably looked thinner because (as I've been told) I have no butt. When God gave out butts I must have been in the wrong lane.

Thanks for the heads up Katie. I'm sorry that you, like New Kid in the past, have to endure attacks so that the rest of us have a public place to go to share our common interest. I know it's not what you signed up for, so your continued work to keep this open is even more appreciated, considering how many of these forums we've lost in the not so distant past.

Don't forget that even Clooneyfiles was hacked and went down all those many years ago....seems like a pattern. Maybe one we didn't recognize at the time but Julie never reopened the forum again and I sincerely hope that part of history isn't repeated.

Although considering the constant attack you are under not only here but on every site that posts any news about George, we would all understand if you didn't want to deal with it anymore.

Just know that we're here for you, whatever you need.

I just want to state for the record I've NEVER posted on IMDB! I had thought of getting a login but when they asked me for a CREDIT CARD number I said WTF? and left it.

so if anyone posts on there as LornaDoone it is an IMPOSTER! And I'm making that comment because apparently in the past someone had set up an account with my screen name and posted pretending to be me and the only reason I found it is because someone from there started giving me flack on the Milano site and accused me of posting all over the place when in fact I had not posted anywhere else.

So just want to make that clear - I only post HERE - I don't post on IMDB or any other George site or on any of the sites like Just Jared or Perez Hilton or any place else people might go to make comments about George.

I'm so sorry for all this s--t you don't deserve any of these false accusations.Why is it when any site, blog, whatever is a success some unhappy person has to try and ruin it. Haven't visited IMBd for so long (CRS) but I've always admired all of you that have posted there over the years and have debated those that come up with all this crazy s--t. The Cookies Rocked and my only regret is during that time I only lurked, When the nut hi-jacked the site that's when I realized what I'd missed out on by only lurking. Unfortunately there are people who can only derive a level of satisfaction from the perceived misery of others, its a damn shame but true. I've only been on COH a few months and I think its a terrific site, full of very interesting people, some genuinely funny posts, glad I joined. Hopefully this nutter will find another forum of people to annoy and leave this one alone.

The problem with the new nutter is that what they are saying they have said before. And they know way too much about things from long ago to really be very new. It's very hard to hide crazy. If by some chance she does manage to copy the site we just don't go there and ignore it! It's like fire you starve it of oxygen and it goes. This is the only public forum for George Clooney! Sad really there was a time when there were several who all seemed to work so happily together. I don't understand how they think they are a fan of George's doing the things she does. She certainly does seem to be on a rampage at the moment. Don't worry Katie none of us are going to fall for silly little threats. She can't close down this board the only power she has is in her own head. We stayed around on CCC after all the chaos so she never actually closed it. I am the same as you Lorna I would never sign up with IMDB because they wanted a credit card something I will not do. I never go to IMDB anymore anyway it's hard keeping track of all the crazy.

I can certainly appreciate "freedom of speech" but, this person has definately (at least to me) crawled into defamation of character on several of her posts. There is a person that posted on IMDb who claims that she works for Stan and that they have made both George and Stan aware of all the posts. I don't want the wacko arrested necessarily but, she ( or he) really needs some help. Isn't there a way to track her IP address??

I've no idea what timeframe she's working to, or even if it was a serious threat.

I would simply say to be very suspicious of any new Clooney fansite opening up. Particularly if it's not clear who's running it, or if it seems to be a copy (or poorly attempted copy) of this site.

If anyone finds anything, then please DON'T post it on this site. Send me a PM (or just use the 'contact' button at the bottom of every page of this site) and send me the link.

Well, it happened; the new site has been launched. For obvious reasons I'm not going to put a link here to it although it's easy enough to find.

The sad thing is that this wasn't done by the crazy person (I think) but instead by four people I trusted. Four people who posted here, some of them very often.

It's my belief that the site was created out of spite and with the aim of poaching posters, articles and ideas from this forum. Maybe even to get this site shut down.

How do I know? Because the four of them discussed the creation of their copycat site online on a forum that could be viewed by everyone.

This, by the way, is proof that their discussion was public and not private: google doesn't read secure sites, only publicly available sites.

I'd like to make it clear that I don't mind someone opening up another George Clooney site. I did and there's no reason why others shouldn't either.

It's not what they've done, but the way they did it that bothers me.

I wouldn't have minded at all if they'd been open about it from the start. If they'd just said, "You know what, we don't like the way you run COH and we're going to make a new site" then it would have been fine.

Of course I'd have been hurt, but I'd have to get over myself and deal with it. There have always been several Clooney fan sites running at the same time and most of us have been members of at least two in the past and that's never been a problem.

It's the way they've handled this makes me sick to my stomach and the fact that they tried to attack this site, then planned to use it to promote themselves is why I've banned them from here.

They wanted to deceive you all into joining by pretending to find their forum while searching for information about Rosemary Clooney and then asking innocent questions about it here and on IMDb hoping that you guys would follow the links and join their site.

They planned to use new user names so that nobody would know it was them running the site and they made it clear they had no intentions of ever revealing who they were.

There was even a discussion where they wondered how long they should wait before joining their own site using their real user names (the ones you would recognise) to hide the fact it was their site from everyone.

There's a list of posters from here who they won't allow to join their site because they disagree with what these posters say. So much for free speech then.

Speaking personally, I don't like the way they openly tried to copy COH, talking about how I structured the site, using the same layout, analysing what was good about the site so they could do the same and in the beginning even using the same site host as COH.

My name and this site are mentioned on almost every page of the planning so they can't hide the fact that this site was the focus of their attentions, no matter how much they backtrack and say now they just wanted to make another fan site.

I just don't think that's the right way to go about things.

I'm sure they'll be in touch with you at some point to ask you to join their site and whether you do or don't is none of my business. You'll always be welcome at COH no matter how many George fansites you post on.

I just wanted to share the background behind how that site got created. It's up to you what you want to do now.
