Jennifer Garner - Sexism in Hollywood Empty Jennifer Garner - Sexism in Hollywood

I know that we have had discussions on George's threads about his "sexism" in his films and perhaps even his personal life, and I found this article from Gossip Cop quite interesting, and I believe very true!

Jennifer Garner opened up about sexism in show business as an honoree at Elles 21st Annual Women in Hollywood event on Monday, explaining that while she is constantly asked about balancing work and family, her husband Ben Affleck only gets questioned about his co-star’s “t*ts.”
During her speech at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, the actress made an impassioned plea to put an end to sexism in the entertainment industry. “The fact that there even needs to be a Women in Hollywood event is a little bit sad,” noted Garner. “I mean, the men in Hollywood event is every day. It’s called Hollywood. Fifty-one percent of the population should not have to have to schedule a special event to celebrate the fact that in an art that tells the story of what it means to be human and alive, we get to play a part.”
The Men, Women & Children star went on to share her own account of gender discrimination in the workplace. “So for example, my husband and I do kind of the same job, a little bit,” she began. “Not long ago we both had one of those magical days, we call it a junket, where we both attended these lovely events where people come in every four minutes, they ask the same questions over and over again, you know the drill.”
Garner explained, “We got home at night and compared notes. And I told him every single person who interviewed me, I mean every single one, and this is true of the red carpet here tonight Elle, asked me, ‘How do you balance work and family?’”
She added, “He said the only thing anyone asked him repeatedly was about the t*ts on the ‘Blurred Lines’ girl [Affleck's Gone Girl co-star Emily Ratajkowski], which, for the record if we’re talking about them, they are real and they are fabulous. Everyone should take a look and enjoy.”
“As for work-life balance, he said that no one asked him about it that day,” said Garner. “As a matter of fact, no one had ever asked him about it. Not once. And we do share the same family. Isn’t it time to kinda change that conversation?”
Actresses Elizabeth Banks, Annette Bening, Jessica Lange, Brie Larson, Tina Fey, and Zoe Saldana were also honored alongside Garner at the event.

I agree. So glad she brought it (sexism) up. It's a never ending struggle, not only in Hollywood, but in every part of our culture.
