I still can't believe we shot 7 goals against Brazil in the semi final of the wolrd cup and the whole world was watching how Brazil got executed                          

This was an AMAZING evening..........

What can I say....the Brazilian soccer team said we can not beat them in Brazil and Germans can't deal with the heat. And now look what happened.....

Nicky you have to consider I'm not a very commited Germany fan!
I missed the game in the night and woke up at 5:30am, only managing to catch the last two or three minutes. I EVEN MISSED the GOAL from Brazil!
Anyway at least I bought Germany to win the Cup almost a month ago.
GO Germany!My favorite player is Ozil. He is that cute and talented. Then later in the day met a colleague of my mom's who's wearing his polo!

LOOK even the NY Empire State building showed the German colors.....Americans are so nice           

Had mixed feelings about Ronaldo's record getting beaten. Frankly I was crazy for him during the 2002 World Cup and I did support Brazil in the final just for him. Ronaldo was a true legend.
Congrats on Klose but I rarely watch him in club games, so...not so familiar with his skills...

About the World Cup...the general thoughts here are our national football team is and will be hopeless in decades. Sad.
At least I've seen China play in the World Cup once in my life! Our next big and only opportunity is to host the games... Beijing has officially bid to host the Winter Olympics...once that's done, the World Cup will be the next...

Ronaldo said in an interview before the game with Brazil that he hoped that the German player Klose will get an injury in order not to play and beat his record. That was a mean thing to wish for someone so obviously his record got broken. And Klose is playing again on Sunday....It will not be easy for Ronaldo to get his record back HA

Holland v Argentina play their semi final tonight.

If Argentina win, then the final on Sunday will be a repeat of the final in 1990.
That's the last time Germany won the World Cup, appropriately the year after the Berlin Wall was demolished !
I was in Berlin at the time and the city was full of cars and people celebrating, in the pouring rain.

  and if we win the title again we will be in the streets again with the cars and people celebrating IN THE POURING RAIN (this is a rainy week) HAHAHAAHA

That last title gave as a big motivation after the wall came down. Football always unites people

Anyhow you are right. We have many good players in one TEAM even those who sit on the bank....Brazil built they team on one or two players the same like Argentina (Messi). Of course both teams are great players. But in a game like the world cup you have to play in a team and the whole team has to be 100% not only one or two players. Now for Brazil this was awful as those one/two players couldn't play anymore. Where did that leave them.....Really sad.....

I watched the game last night. I felt sorry for the Brasilians. Germany humiliated them. People were crying. I will be watching the second semi-final tonight, starts in an hour. I'm hoping the Dutch will win. That will make for an interesting finale.

Funny video Nicky which summons up what happened last night. They haden't lost at home for 38 years and in 30 min it was 0-5. A whole fotball world was in shock. It was the biggest melt down for Brasil since 1950. I support Germany but you didn't just win,you crushed them.

It was a terribly boring game. I think Germany will win on Sundday unless they have a complete meltdown too.And that isn't likely to happen.

I was lucky....watched the first half....lost interest.
Watched a recording of the police drama Lewis for under two hours.
Then tuned back to the TV just in time to see Messi
take his penalty.
A repeat then of 1990 World Cup Final.
It could be an exciting match this time.

It sure was a hot sunovabitch here today with promises to stay hot.  Can't take the heat!!!!

Ok you win Lizzy, the heat combined with humidity is not my friend either which is why I don't live in the tropics of Australia.  Also sending you lots of chilly ice cubes -

My ducted heater broke, so Im using a wall heater at the moment, its a hard life I know but my house other than 2 rooms is icy freezing cold - which is why Im dreaming of the warmth right now

It's hot in Europe too. 30 C yesterday = 86 F. We have had a couple of tropical nights which makes it harder to sleep. I also managed to get badly sunburnt yesterday so I need to wear long sleeves today.

Use plenty of aloe vera Silje that will help with your sunburn - oh sunburn Ive forgotten what that's like...

We've been having warm sunny days for a while now here in UK, with lovely north westerly wind.

OK fine.....but you have to wait a while for
a few reasons....

1. Our spare room is full of stuff and needs clearing.
2. Our new comfy sofa,which would be fine for sleeping on too, hasn't yet arrived.
3. A tent on the lawn might be awkward cos it slopes downwards.
4. Millie's bed might be OK for a little one though.

Other than that....Welcome to UK !
But it's sure to rain when you arrive....Sod's Law.

  Joanna - That sounds like the kind of invite I'd give my mother-in-law!! Besides, if I'm going to get rained on I might as well stay home and sleep in my own bed - I'm too creaky to sleep on the floor, which seems like the only space you have available right now.
