Reasons why I like this site.

1. I'am a GC fan,and I discovered his fan sites about4 years ago.
2.I got bored with TV as my venue of escapism.
3.Enjoy commenting on this site because we may not all agree,but we are not rude to one another.There is no finger pointing and name-calling.
4. IMO no one takes themselves to seriously here.
5.I can comment here and not worry about being attacked, I don't have to worry about sharing my politics,or my religious beliefs with a bunch of strangers.This is a GC fan site and IMHO not the place for those types of discussions .
6.I have found a group of people with one common interest , and recognize that GC is a good looking devil with a lot of intelligence and talent,but he is a man and is human so he makes mistakes.
So to all thank you for creating this place.

Thanks Lucy. That's why I set up this site; so that Clooney fans could have a home where they can have fun with other fans.

Kimber's site is also fantastic, but it's private and difficult to find now so we needed somewhere where everyone can read.

Turns out even people who hate me read this site avidly and visit at least four times a day.

Anyway, I jwanted to share with you all that today (6 March) marks our three-month anniversary! Party on down everyone!!!!!

Lately I've been spending a little time lurking on other GC fan sites, so it has made me appreciate this site,and made me a bit defensive to what I perceive as insults about us and what we are about. So if I step out of line please tell me to chill.

I like this site, easy to navigate, posters with a good sense of humor and we all have one thing in common - George. He is the only actor I follow, I only read a few celebrity sites and don't know 90% of the people they are talking about, I didn't know half of the actors at the Oscars. I avoid tabloid mags and only watch tabloid TV now if I know George is featured.This feels comfortable and I know alot of the posters from previous sites. Tried going to CNCU but it didn't feel 'comfortable'. Thanks Katiedot (and anyone who assists you) for the great site.

Each place has a beauty and charm all it's own. I can feel your pain Katie! I can ONLY imagine the pm's over some of the criticism of George that you must get and I sincerely hope that I haven't been the cause of too many of those but I apologize in advance, if I have added to that burden with my occasional sarcasm.

Thanks again Katie for this site. It's my haven to get away from everyday tedium. AND, yikes, I was reading IMDB remarks today. Lots of bickering, I felt like I was watching the freuding women on the Jerry Springer show! I like the way you keep it light on here.

@cindigirl: yes, it's been interesting on imdb recently, especially when people are trying to find out who I am and post my personal details along with the domain registry of this site in order to get me to close this forum down.

Katiedot, I read several times a week, but don't post much. I too hope that you are safe from those who participated in a former blog highjacking. It's difficult to completely trust those who did after such an event.

I just read a posting by AntiDiva on IMDB quoting something I said in response to the French news article. It was a harmless comment. She also quoted Dexter. She used my words to validate one of her opinions that is critical of this site and CCC. I'm angry that someone can take my statement, without my permission, out of context, and use it to further her thoughts. One of the reasons I like this site....we don't do that here.

Saw that,they've been doing it for over a week now. Some of my comments and others have been posted there. I agree about them being taken out of context,but what can you expect from people with no sense of humor! I'm just going to consider the source and ignore it.

They've also been posting comments from IMDB to Just Jared.....

I also agree about those IMDb posters. I don't know why they believe they are holier than thou, but even though I am bothered about them copying our posts, I do consider the source. They feel that they can come and troll over here and steal our words, but godforbid if you question them. Oh well, IMHO, they're not worthy of what we have here. Yep, sorry about that. I just wonder why they think that a site that they hate so much is so important that they have to read it.

Mel - to answer your question you need to know a bit of background history. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin:

Once upon a time, about this time last year in fact, there was a sad and lonely woman who posted using different nicknames on the CNCU forum (thmsngrb, mrsrib etc) and had people fooled into thinking that she was different people.

She also tried posting on the cookies site, but was laughed off it and her opinions (and multiple personalities) weren't welcome there.

In utter vexation that she couldn't get the site to accept her or close down (the same ultimatum that I'm getting by the way), she copied over the site's source code and created a lookalike site that she then pretended was the real site, comments and all.

True to form, the cookies site couldn't give a shit and continued as before.

She had a meltdown. Now posting as GuessWho, she created a second blog which was meant to be a George Clooney blog but in fact was full of weirdness, and 'clues' to her relationship with George.

She then created a third blog, this time claiming that she was George's secret soul mate, that they were psychically seeing each other and having psychic sex. It was beyond weird.

She claimed that she and George were meant to be together because of numerology, astrology and most importantly because of dowsing, an occult method of finding answers to questions by hanging a weight on a string then asking it yes/no questions to divine an answer.

Essentially her point was that because she was 'The One', George couldn't possibly be seeing anyone else. Therefore his relationship with Betty is entirely fake and for business purposes only because there was no way he would ever cheat on his true soul mate even though he'd never met her.

They were supposed to marry last December (the same time that his business agreement with Betty apparently ended).

I've no idea what happened to her. I thought she'd got help but it does seem that she's still out there on the boards so desperate for attention and acknowledgement that she'd be willing to cause irreprable damage to his career by taking her claims that his relationship with Betty is fake to other websites.

To me it's clear from what she posts that she's not able to reason or function normally which is why it's pointless trying to talk to her. IMO her mental balance, such as it is, depends entirely on her being able to convince, not just herself but others too that she really is secretly dating George Clooney.

Anyone who disagrees is 'the enemy' and must be taken down.

I was just catching up at IMDB, F*** me Katie, Gunfight at the George Clooney Message Board!. That was very entertaining and ballsy, but I can't help worrying you're going to be up to your eyeballs in purest crazy quite soon.

I've seen those boards....that there's crazy town. I don't bother to post. I'd rather go outside and have a conversation with a rock. It'd make more sense. Truly, some of those people, and I'm pretty sure they're all the same one, need serious help.

She (The One) had also been told 25 years ago by a fortune teller that she would meet someone famous called George and marry him - so she divorced her husband the year before!!!
