I don't know how anyone learns German - some of the words are soooo long!  Very Happy
I'd like to know who packs for him when he's traveling for work. How many behind-the-scenes people does it take to get him from place to place with all his stuff intact?

@Mel - I didn't know that, but it makes sense. He's lived in LA for a long time, and he's been vacationing in Cabo for years. - It just occurred to me tho - if he can speak Spanish, why can't he learn Italian? They're obviously not the same, but they are similar.

Lizzy...I know some celebrities definitely lost their stuff in hotel! Guess George packs by himself.

@Sevens - How does he ever find the time? It seems like when he's on a promotional tour he's busy 24 hours a day.

I also wonder if his assistants travel with him. I know Stan does, but does anyone else?

But it's safer to pack your own stuff...
And I don't think he has a lot of things to carry with...he always wears the same suit or jacket for a few days!
They may appoint some local assistants for him to help with things.

@Mel & It's Me - I'm not so sure about that. He said his accent is so bad that they've sometimes asked him what language he's speaking! Very Happy

You could be right tho - He's pretty smart and after all these years spent in Italy he has to have learned something.

A new question:

GC what has been your happiest day so far in your life?

I know given his current situation there will be many more great ones..but I would interested in his reply.

@NewFan - Great question! I wonder if it would be something from his childhood, or something connected to his humanitarian work? Or maybe winning the Oscar?

@Lorna - According to Melbert (P.1 of this thread) he speaks conversational Spanish. She also thinks he speaks more Italian than he lets on. - I can buy the Spanish, since he lives in LA, but I'll take his word for the Italian. He probably understands it better than he speaks it.

I am a long time George Clooney fan dating back to his time as Doug Ross in ER. I was disappointed when he left but it is great that his perseverance paid off because I remember him in Roseanne when he was in the sit-com with Roseanne Barr but not a big star by any means. I also remember him saying he was in a number of pilots before ER and he became the big star he is today. It is obvious he has a wonderful sense of humour and is a very popular star on the film set. I am a newcomer to this website and glad to be with other Clooney fans. It is great that George waited to find the woman of his dreams and he seems to have found her in Amal Alamudden a combination of beauty and brains. With her knowledge of law and human rights they obviously have a great deal in common going from friendship to romance very quickly. Well done George you waited and got first prize.

I'd love to ask him why he never came to my country, since we, Latin women love him. What is the perfume that it uses and finally, he did change his mind about marriage

Lizzy....I think he answered that question on the stage in Florence.... was it ?
When he said...."Amal..... I love you very much.....and can't wait to be your husband"

That said it all to my simple mind. LOL

Sorry, Jo, but that was a little too show-biz and maybe PR-ish for me. Maybe I'm just a cynic, but I'd like to know what set her apart from all the others so much that he felt he had to marry her in such a hurry. All the others got a couple of years before he decided (or they did) that it wouldn't work. What made him so sure this time?

Isn't it called falling in love, thunderbolts and all? I think Bill Murray's words and observations go some way.........It just took him a while

And given that he already knew in his own mind that a fellow actor/director/in the business type was not right for him, and his interest and commitment to the wider world, it's not really that surprising.......plus of course the figure, the hair, the legs, the work ethic .........

You guys may be right - (except for "the figure" - really?!! - she's built like a broomstick!). Like I said, I'm a cynic, and I guess it's too "fairytale" for me - especially at his age, with his history. Ten or more years ago, maybe - but at 52? Just seems to me to be more to it than that. But, hell, what do I know?

Ten years ago I don't think he would have been ready. For him I think waiting till he was older worked for him.

I know we've all talked about this on another thread so I won't rehash what's already been said.

I will just take his word and all the observations made by his close friends and family.

I would like to know who the love of his life was? (I don't  think it is Amal).

I would also like to know who he had the best sex with? Krista? He did keep coming back to her and she wasn't  a red carpet girlfriend.
