Nelson Mandela - a true hero - has passed away.
"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."
Rest in Peace.

Re: Nelson Mandela - 1918 - 2013
I remember this day very clearly. He was an amazingly brave man,
I hope he is now at peace after a long illness.
"On the 11th of February 1990, Nelson Mandela was unconditionally released from prison by President F. W. de Klerk. De Klerk had already reversed the ban on the ANC and other anti-apartheid organizations. Click here to view the full text of Nelson Mandela's address to the people of South Africa at the Grand Parade in Cape Town.
This image shows Nelson Mandela and his wife Winnie Mandela leaving the Victor Verster prison, walking hand in hand with clenched fists. It had been a Long Walk to Freedom.
The event was broadcast live all over the world."

RIP Mr. Mandela. Those who opposed you, will miss you. Those who understood you, will carry you on in their hearts. Those who loved you, will live your dream the rest of their days.

Thanks for all the vids and photos!
“It is never my custom to use words lightly. If twenty-seven years in prison have done anything to us, it was to use the silence of solitude to make us understand how precious words are and how real speech is in its impact on the way people live and die.” (South Africa, July 14, 2000)
