Lord Sebastian Coe Not Happy With Daniel Radcliffe Casting?
'George Clooney Must Have Been Busy'

Daniel will take on the role of the Olympian in a new big screen biopic.

It was confirmed this week that Daniel Radcliffe is to don his running shoes to play Lord Sebastian Coe in a movie biopic of the Olympian, but it sounds like the man himself was hoping someone else would play him on the big screen!

Daniel will play track and field champion turned London 2012 mastermind Seb Coe in the new movie 'Gold' it was reported this week.

The actor will be playing the Olympic gold medalist in a film depicting the legendary rivalry between British middle distance runners Coe and Steve Ovett during the early eighties, according to Screen Daily.

Reuniting with his Woman in Black director James Watkins, Daniel's new movie is based on the book The Perfect Distance by former Times journalist Pat Butcher and will centre around the build up to the 1980s Olympic games, where the pair battled for gold in both the 1,500m and 800m with each winning in their favoured event.

So what does Seb think of the casting? Well he reckons a certain George Clooney might have been a better choice! Joking to the Telegraph at the British Olympic Ball this week, Lord Coe reveals:

“My office told me about that this morning. I can’t tell you I have spent a lot of time thinking about it. I’m only sorry George Clooney must clearly have been busy.”

We're not sure at 52, George is the best choice to play a 24-year-old Seb although we would love to see him fly around that track!

Thanks Ocean for this find, who knows George does do a lot of running. haha But I think he has many projects in the works, my last count was eleven and some less likely rumors.

Achieving total Clooney-dom
