Looking at the pics a bit more I guess you maybe need to work a lil bit more with photoshop
I know, it seems insulting

I'm sorry It's Me, but I need to disagree with you.  Deb's pictures are beautiful just the way they are.  Sure they're made up, but not photoshopped, so we still get the true essence of who they are.  That's one of the things wrong in this world today.  Nobody see real beauty anymore.  Everything is photoshopped beyond all recognition.  How many times have we commented on different people (or ex-g/f of...) that they don't even look like themselves when their photoshoot pictures are posted in magazines?

I loved those Dove soap commercials and print ads they did with NORMAL women - no photoshop!!!!

Sorry to disagree me too Very Happy
What I kindly tried to say is that some photoshopping was IMO already done

Look at the right leg in last pic
Seems already touched by the gizmo
And also the other girl seems to have her face.... How can I say.... Replaced in position

Guess something was already done

But I agree on spontaneity
So
Totally photoshopped
Or nothing at all!

Again, IMHO

I don't believe playful uses photoshop on her photos.
What you see is what she's taken.
As none of us are professional photographers, I believe any critical comments are irrelevant anyway, if not a little insulting.
I like to see playful's work here and hope she still continues to share it with us.

A propos of nothing at all, a while back a friend of mine gave me an angel statuette for my desk - you know, one of those china figurines that's supposed to protect and look after you. I really dislike these things (I dislike clutter and anything that requires dusting) but it worked for her so she passed it to me.

This particular one is supposed to bring love to you. Anyway, for six months now I've been holding it in my hands and asking it to bring me a man to love.

Idiot that I am, I've been doing it all wrong: no need to ask for love. Should've been asking for the insight to recognise it when I feel it!

So, just passing this along to any of you singletons out there wishing on shooting stars and whatever else you may doing: don't wish for love or for a man. Instead, wish for the ability to recognise love.

Drive-in sex

How about that?

Looking very orderly. Is the open-air format part of the attraction? Shocked

OMG this is so true. And I think I'm one of them. I always look out for the man to love but never look for it to recognise it when you meet the man. You would think this feeling happens automatic. Sometimes we singles are so busy searching that this "seaching instinct" is so normal that we forget about it how it feels when you find it.   Oh boy,  ok now I'm upset    Sad

Re: August Chit Chat

Post by Carla97 on Sun Aug 18 2013, 15:12

Not sure if the statue could help, but sweet idea. I seem to have a fear of going on a date. I do not understand where this fear is coming from and certainly don´t know how to get over it.

I almost don´t want to post this but my question is, other people feel like this right?

Just recently I actually went out (he´s nice). Restaurant was nice (little one in the piazza surrounded by old buildings). As friends, just casual and light fun. He was in different page. Standing too close, interfering my personal space, asking personal questions, touching "accidently", really annoying. And when he took my hand. I just panicked. I felt like I could bite my wrist off to get out of there. I stood up so the table was shaking and I left. I had to walk maybe 100-150 meters and then around the corner sudden urge to run!

I have pulled myself out off many occasions (dates), because I´m way too nervous. I like when they show interest and excited about getting the call. But it stops there. After that I just start to dread the prospect of a date. I am not thinking about what to wear, how to impress him but how to get out of the situation, because it´s getting too real and processing too fast or god knows why. The stress of it is paralyzing. Otherwise I´m outgoing and probably talk and joke more with men than women in social happenings. Even if the jokes are sexual I´ll just laugh.

If the man says I am tense or I should let my guard down that sort of things - I am out. I disappear.

I hope I´m not alone in this one, square one...Embarassed

Yep, the fear I recognize asap. Smile

Yes I understand Carla.

Maybe you could try to meet guys in a social setting where you'd have a common interest, whatever your interests are.
Then get to know them first before dating on a one
to one basis. That might help with you being more relaxed ?

Or....go on an Assertiveness Training course so that you can learn how to handle situations you don't feel comfortable in ?

I wish you well flower

@Carla97.

I think what you did on that date was perfectly right, you sensed he was invading your space way too soon, and you had probably picked up on other  things that were just plain "inappropriate"
This just means that you are self aware, and if ppl don't already realise it....you take action....BRAVO.

Most ppl are nervous, but maybe not as "self aware" as you.
I know the title of a famous book, but I haven't read it....
"Feel the fear and do it anyway" I like the title.

Every time you go out ...even if you run...bravo.  Do it again and again and again....start to laugh as you run.  Meet your next date, and tell him right at the start of the evening "you will be lucky if I don't do a runner by 9".  Make light of the fact that you are self aware, nervous, panicky.  Just keep them informed in a light hearted way (if they are too close, too whatever) but don't give up too quickly on someone who might be more nervous than you....you will soon find out who is worth your time.
Ppl have to take you as you are....and you are lovely.....don't let fear stop you.  You owe fear nothing, you owe yourself the world. A happy full world...with no fear.

Oh Yes Carla. Really you are not alone with that. I get nervous too on dates. Don't like to date. Which is weird as of course we are still looking for a partner.

When I read your line

"Otherwise I´m outgoing and probably talk and joke more with men than women in social happenings. Even if the jokes are sexual I´ll just laugh. "

I was like OMG you are like me. I always asked myself how can we be so outgoing with people and if it comes to a date being such a "chicken".

@WWHS

I love that, too funny:

"tell him right at the start of the evening "you will be lucky if I don't do a runner by 9".

You are so right when I read

"don't let fear stop you. You owe fear nothing, you owe yourself the world. A happy full world...with no fear.

PUT FEAR IN A BOX AND BURY IT!

NOBODY EVER DIED SAYING "I WISH I'D FELT MORE FEAR"

But is so hard to really live that way. Somebody needs to remind us ALL the time....

Ça fait mouche! You hit the nail on the head WWHS. Thank you thank you. Give Flowers2

Gross breed of comedian and fakir could make it to the second date. Even in the case that the box opens all fears popping out or they rise like a phoenix from the ashes. He could handle it better, maybe. True, I should warn him about my runner stunts. But how to make it sound like it´s normal. Risk is he thinks I´m completely whacked out.

I got this funny message from a friend today: "What you don´t need is the arithmetic man; he adds trouble, subtracts pleasure, divides attention, and multiplies ignorance. "

Well Carla, it could be a "fear factor" because of an "inner wound" that needs healing... Most times we may have experienced a dreaded situation either directly or indirectly (through someone's experience) that can affect us so deeply that it hits us inside... creating a wound.  We may never realize it but NOT treating it directly, as in running away from the thought of that situation / factor, can lead to the wound existing, festering, but NOT really healing...

That inturn can make us build protective fences around us... make us create the "comfort zone" around us, so much so that we would protect that fear zone and not allow anyone to touch it... much less ourselves...

It is possible with our Creator of all things+feelings (Spiritually) to sit calmly and go deep inside... deeper and deeper... to that early experience... run it again with the all powerful Creator, feel it, forgive it... be healed and move on... It will take time, tears and toil Smile BUT, once you've done it, you will see that your "fears" were unnecessary I love you ... and that you really need NO BRAKES on yourself because of fears... except the fear of your Creator Who is in control, ofcourse! Smile

As for other intentions, I shall pray that you experience the power of inner healing dear Carla... Love can hug you back only when you open your arms to it... Best to you Smile

Love is never (almost never) first sight. It should always be proceeded by true friendship. Meet all head-on in a group environment full of long acquaintances and friends. You are relaxed with friends, so flow with them and perhaps you'll find your "one". He may not be anymore relaxed than you and not initially willing to address dating one on one. Just be open and as Katie says have the insight to recognize it when it happens. If and when it does, you may even have to take the initiative and move things along.

You will find love and your prince charming if it is meant to be. Just don't approach your life with "must have" love, approach it with "want to have" friends to be happy with. Sometimes, friendship is the key to living life to the fullest.

Hey Carla, my advice (for what it's worth) would be to listen to your instincts. We women are taught to ignore our instincts and "be nice" even when red flags are going up. If someone is making you uncomfortable, listen to that inner voice.

I understand what you say mosaic. Women keep missing the obvious signs. Men are not waving simple red flags in front of them but red matador capes at them and somehow women still miss it. Some learning curves can be steep for them.

That was not the case with me. He used his tactics, probably has always worked before, now it didn´t.

True.  But love at first sight can turn into a beautiful friendship too.
Just like Nick & Nina Clooney.
Recognising love instantly & not turning from it important. Because when we don't do what is in our heart & follow our instincts, we live to regret it one day when it's too late.

Yes  I'll Marry You
A poem by Pam Ayres

Yes, I’ll marry you, my dear.
And here’s the reason why.
So I can push you out of bed
When the baby starts to cry.
And if we hear a knocking
And it’s creepy and it’s late,
I hand you the torch you see,
And you investigate.

Yes I’ll marry you, my dear,
You may not apprehend it,
But when the tumble-drier goes
It’s you that has to mend it.
You have to face the neighbour
Should our labrador attack him,
And if a drunkard fondles me
It’s you that has to whack him.

Yes, I’ll marry you,
You’re virile and you’re lean,
My house is like a pigsty
You can help to keep it clean.
That sexy little dinner
Which you served by candlelight,
As I do chipolatas,
You can cook it every night!!!

It’s you who has to work the drill
And put up curtain track,
And when I’ve got PMT
it’s you who gets the flak,
I do see great advantages,
But none of them for you,
And so before you see the light,
I DO, I DO, I DO !!

Well....self-deprecating wit in that poem.  lol!
The groom must be smitten...
