George Clooney, 'ER'

Back when he was still just a TV heartthrob, George Clooney was nominated twice for "ER" -- and lost. He has never scored Emmy bids for "Facts of Life" (1985-87) or "Roseanne" (1988-91).

I like that they mention all prices and nominations and tell against who he lost for all the nominations he didn't win.

Didn't know that "Good night, and Good Luck" was nominated at the same year like brokeback mountain. wonder if Geroge new from the beginning that this movie was going to win


George ClooneyDOB: May 6, 1961

Background: Son of noted radio personality Nick Clooney, and nephew of singer Rosemary Clooney, he grew up around show business. Dropping out of college, he moved to Hollywood, living with his aunt and pursuing acting. For a decade, he featured in a string of TV series, beginning with the short-lived sitcom "E/R" in 1984, "The Facts of Life" (1985-86), "Roseanne (1988-89), "Baby Talk" (1992) and "Sisters" (1993-1994) befor landing the role of Dr. Doug Ross on "ER" for five seasons beginning in 1994.

Filmography: His first major movei role was in 1996's "From Dusk till Dawn," followed by "One Fine Day" (1996) with Michelle Pfeiffer and "The Peacemaker" (1997) with Nicole Kidman and as Batman in the flop "Batman & Robin" (1997). In 1998, he made the first of his films with director Steven Soderbergh -- "Out of Sight" opposite Jennifer Lopez.

Clooney continues to combine the commerical success of films such as the "Oceans" franchise with critical hits like "O Brother, Where Art Thou" and "Burn After Reading," both of which were helmed by the Coen brothers.
