I am really good at threading conversations about kidney disease, dialysis and transplantation with references to George Clooney. I always have a good Clooney story to refer back to. I am also good at showing compassion for sick people and our most vulnerable populations.
I am also an expert at getting my "venus" pressure up by watching George Clooney. If you don't know what "venus" pressure is, think your veins.

Im freakishly good at ironing, although I loathe it but was taught well. I can type over 160wpm with 98% accuracy and my shorthand speed is 120 wpm. Ive also become somewhat of an expert at going days without proper sleep if I have too!

I'd agree with that. Nobody really has it together, it just seems that way to outsiders looking in.

Nobody else wants to add things that they're good at?
Ok then, on to the next dilemma. If I don't wear makeup I look younger. But also uglier. So, which is more important to me? To look pretty or to look young? Because now I've hit 40, I can't have both.

Ok by make-up do you mean foundation etc or lippie/mascara etc. When I want to feel better about how I look, I use a tinted moisture riser, not heavy on the face, nudish colour lipsticks and Mascara, looks fresh, not too over the top and makes me feel like I look younger and Im 44.
I don't mind walking around without make-up but I like the way my skin looks with the tint.

I use tinted moisturiser, powder, mascara, eyebrow pencil and a nude lippy. So not much, really, but when I go out with no makeup on, I'm told I look younger. Or perhaps the guy was just trying to get in my pants?

Yep agree with Joanna, I had a guy once tell me I looked like Lynda Carter (WW)- I mean really. What do you think Katie, its your face, do you think you look younger? If so, you can get away with just the tinted moistureriser

Re: JUNE CHIT CHAT
Just an FYI, liquid vitamin C is a miracle worker when applied to the face. Mix small amounts in your facial moisturizer and use daily. It reverses sun damage and combats free radicals which cause damage and wrinkles. I've yet to get around to doing it, but knew a woman who did and the results were stunning. Beauty Control makeup has a product called Cell Block C, which is essentially what I just described - liquid C in a facial moisturizer. I intend to find a local health food store and pick up a bottle of C to mix with my Olay Total Regenerist. Like I said, FYI. I"m no cosmetologist or dermatologist, so please don't take me as an expert. But I did see tangible postivie results in my friend. Anybody else heard of this?

Liquid vitamin C should be in health food stores, Whole Foods, GNC, etc. And I don't think it's very expensive either.

Yep, years ago I used a serum that had liquid C in it - my bosses wife who was a beautician had worked for years on this product and gave out samples to lots of people to try - the change in my skin after less than a month of using it was amazing - any sun damage, tiny red marks from acne all gone - my face has never looked that good since! She eventually marketed it but the price was out of my league at the time - but I may give the one you mentioned a try Lakin.

Katiedot, most of the men do not even notice that you are wearing make up if it's just a little like you do. And some of them tell their women all the time they would look much better without, but you can watch them turn around after a beautiful woman with nice make up.

Re: JUNE CHIT CHAT
I'd be wary of products that contain things like vitamins etc because the amount in them can be absolutely tiny. Too little to be effective.
Vitamin C is extremely cheap and if you're willing to experiment, you could try making your own first (but beware: Vitamin C creams whether homemade or shop bought can irritate the skin. Test first before using all over).

Re: JUNE CHIT CHAT
That's right Katie, with the one that I used you had to use it very sparingly on the first 2 days to see what if any reaction you got, it wasn't the kind of serum you could just lather on, a little bit each day but for me it worked wonders.

Pretty soon they'll have to completely re-do the entire language
http://now.msn.com/school-says-deaf-boys-name-sign-looks-too-much-like-a-gun
School says deaf boy's name sign looks too much like a gun
Brace yourselves, because this is the dumbest thing you'll hear all day. The Grand Island (Neb.) school district is forcing a 3-year-old deaf boy to change the way he signs his name, because they say his gestures violate their weapons policy. Preschooler Hunter Spanjer's personalized name sign is a registered sign with Signing Exact English -- a modified form of American Sign Language -- and involves extended index fingers that the district says resembles a gun. (And that sound you just heard was our heads exploding from all the stupid.) "We are working with the parents to come to the best solution we can for the child," a school spokesperson said. Um, how about letting him keep his own name?

Good Monday to everyone! My kidney treatments last week were harsh, but they worked. Yeah Me! You have no idea how scary that was. Just the thought of possibly losing this kidney that was donated by my friend really depressed me. Not so much for myself, but by letting her down, even if it wasn't my fault. But, it didn't happen that way, I remind myself. Now on to more Clooney news and the fantasies of actually running into him and his film entourage. I for one am just glad to be alive to love him from afar. I am no where near where he is, but I can dream can't I?

Dearest, I have a very good friend who just underwent her second kidney transplant - her first lasted well nigh 15 years, which is 5 years past the life expectancy of those things. Point being, I know what she's been through and just how brave and patient you are. Glad, you shared your good news. Please keep doing so, as we are all rooting for you.
BTW, my friend is doing very, very well and doing all those things she had to forego for a time waiting for the second go round.

Re: JUNE CHIT CHAT
Back in 95 my bicycle was hit by a car that ran a red light, and I was severely brain injured and paralzyed. I was taking 27 pills a day for over 6 months. I did the cleanses in 2007 to get rid of the residue that store in your tissues from all the meds. Each day I had a new taste in my mouth, ehich was teh thing that my body was getting rid of, I didnt realize how much metal stores in your body if you are the type of person that eats food out of a can. So I did it twice, 30+ days each time, to make sure that my system was clean inside. p.s. Im not paralyzed anymore; the brain thing is questionable !

Re: JUNE CHIT CHAT
Playful you are definitely proof that the human mind and body is capable of anything - 27 pills a day, wow bet you are glad you no longer have to do that. Cleansing if done responsibly can be very good, helping to rid your body of toxins. I wasn't aware how much mercury there is in certain fish until I became pregnant and was given a list of fish to stay away from, mercury levels too high and could cause major problems to bub and me.

Lemon juice diluted in water. About 10 glasses per day.
Wheatgrass shots.
Vegetable juices.
2-3 litres of water. In 2 weeks, skin is glowing.
Halitosis lasts 3-4 days as toxins are released.
Renewed energy.

Oh yes you can. Read about it.

@It's Me - in 2 weeks you see huge transformation. Weight loss expect about 10 lbs first week. Half of which is fluid from water retention.

Nope, cleanses are a hoax and don't do anything better for the body than eating healthily won't already do for you. They're promoted by a billion-dollar industry that foists other nonsense such as aromatherapy, chiropractic and a bunch of other nonsense on people.
Nonsense, but expensive nonsense.
