The Following Empty The Following

Post by theminis Fri 26 Apr 2013, 05:39

Hi All

The Following with Kevin Bacon has just started on our screens over here. Usually we are months behind the US is screen times, some shows are fastracked so that we watch them a day later here. Now heres my question as I have no patience and am starting to get frustrated with the show. Does Kevin Bacon ever find that boy and actually hand him back to his Mum - we are on a hiatus from this show as of next week and as I said, zero patience.

Many thanks

Told you theminis. It started out okay but went downhill fast. Too much violence and the FBI is always a day late. I stopped watching after 4 shows but saw the last one this week, kind of...the kid is still with the lunatic and he has the Mum still as well. Lots of death and horrible stuff in the one I just saw. Makes me sad because I love Kevin Bacon. Read somewhere he's really upset with the writing and direction of the show.

Yeah that's a shame, I have always loved my detective shows, and there have been some good ones, however the tone of the last 2 episodes I watched have disturbed me more than it usually does - wasn't really wanting to watch anymore but was wanting to know how it ends up. You are right too in that there has been a death or 3-4 every episode, pretty soon they will be running out of FBI agents.

I love Kevin Bacon but the show has some serious writing issues in my opinion and like Oof, I stopped watching because there was so much senseless, gratuitous violence that it didn't really add to or carry the story, as the writers intended.

And I also read somewhere that Kevin was really angry about the sexism and unnecessary violence but he's kind of stuck with it, I think.

Yep I agree, the writing is not the best, no comparison to Law and Order or the Good Wife IMO, different plots I know but still it looked like it had all the ingredients to be a successful show, cast wise and story wise, but its starting to disturb me and that usually takes a lot!. Oh can't wait for Homeland to return to my screen.

Not worth watching anymore theminis. As Lighter said, it's all gratuitous violence at this point and nothing else.

theminis: the finale was on tonight for The Following. I stopped watching 3 episodes in but saw the last 10 minutes. Don't bother watching. LOTS of violence and I only saw 10 minutes. And...the lunatic's wife and the female fbi agent are toast. They're gone. Kevin Bacon has been seriously injured. Let's hope the writers and director are fired and someone new is brought in or this show is not going to make it!

Blimey - so Claire (who Kevins character has a thing for) doesn't make it? Not that fussed about the FBI agent, she was irritating me anyway
