George Clooney & Stacy Keibler's Red-Carpet Romance in pictures Empty Re: George Clooney & Stacy Keibler's Red-Carpet Romance in pictures

Post by watching Sat 23 Mar 2013, 11:53

Interesting that E Online just happens to decide to run a pictorial of the couple "in love on the red carpet" now.

One can assume that Stan made a call and a deal was made. Like " you help us promote and sell the relationship so George isn't seen as an old bloke who uses his young girlfriends during his award season campaigns who then discards them as they are no longer of any use to him" and you will get an exclusive on set with G.

G isn't ready for this relationship to be announced as done. He wants things to run to his timetable. He is happy to deny splits and comment on his relationships that way but he has never spoken out in support of any of the gf's - especially when they have been bashed in the media. Interesting that the girls just have to smile and take the negative press and comments but George issues denials and orchestrates PR stunts the second that he is perceived poorly in the press and that he has again, dumped another arm candy post film release. I mean, the denial has only related to the recent split story - nothing on the "she's playing him like violin" or "she is talking to her ex behind his back" stories. If he deems it appropriate to comment on one false story, why not on the others that are floating at the same time??

It really makes George look to be the delicate and insecure one. He did the same with Betty and Sarah so why am I surprised? But then if you are repeatedly in relationships with little substance with women whose attractiveness appears to the determining factor as to why you with have a relationship with them and their willingness to play their dutiful part in your PR campaigns to sell your films and win awards, your sole focus must simply be on your image and perceived public standing at all times. And that is not a well lived life - no matter how much money, sex or attention you get in return.

Well said Watching. It's pretty interesting to read the comments on those ubiquitous gossip sites with regard to all the split and denial stories. Right now, with the exception of the nut job, most of the comments, while sarcastic about Stacy, are most definitely more positive about her. Commenters either say she should dump him first or talk about how old he looks.

I wasn't around for the other "relationships" and their subsequent demise but, at least for this one, I don't think he's coming out looking too well. He's becoming a bit of a joke which would seem to be a publicist's nightmare.

I wonder why he seems to believe he needs the PR he uses with all these latest girls. He's a huge star. He could date, do what he wants as far as spend time together or apart and ignore all the BS. They could go out to places there are no standing papparazzi. They could just "be" in their relationship and let the paps go crazy. But instead, for some reason, I think he uses these relationships to stay relevant and that makes me sad!

Oof do you really think that our man is "becoming a bit of a joke ?"
I can't honestly see that in what he's currently doing.

I have a question about "gossip writers".
Does anyone know the answer ?
Do they get paid for each hit that's registered on their web site ? I've no idea how it all works and I have an enquiring mind.

I don't think he's a joke Joanna but waste a few moments of time reading the comments on stories related to him, and sadly, what you find are a whole lot of people laughing at him.

When the stories are about him or his work, there are fewer derogatory comments but, even then, the comments always seem to return to his dating routine.

Since most of the recent pieces about George focus on his relationship with Stacy, almost all the comments on those stories either paint him as an aging lothario who is a joke or, they talk about how old he looks next to Stacy or they root for Stacy and say they hope she dumps him first.

It makes me sad.

It makes me sad and angry because a whole lot of what these commenters say is lies and filth. I told one off yesterday @JJ because of the they he was talking about SK. A lot of these posters on places like that are lazy lard asses that a good days work would kill them.

They were mostly down on SK but she is a women and the things they say are mostly out of jealousy of George. I don't adhere to anyone saying those things about any women, no matter what.

I have read ones that are against George too, If I have an answer I tell them off, if not I bite my tongue and move on. Don't mind me today just have the shakes & seeing the picture of George just added to it.

Oh don't be sad Oof....it's only sad if it's a true picture of him or if it causes him any grief....which I would doubt really.

I think that both George and Stacy, being experienced adults, know exactly what they are doing relationship wise and that's all that matters.
He's still our Gorgeous George, warts and all, whatever is
written about him.

Personally, I wouldn't take any notice of people who just make comments about the stories they read, I doubt they are "real" fans.

There's a certain type of person who enjoys anonymously writing rubbish, lies or even filth, on any site where comments are allowed.
I've seen some comments on you tube that made my hair curl !

I know they can make one angry but they probably know nothing about the person that they are slagging off and just want to go with the flow
to get rid of their own frustrations.

Very true Joanna. Which is why I generally don't bother reading comments on any blogs or websites, even news sites (although I love reading the comments on Paul Krugman columns) anymore. I've never seen such nastiness.

And, you're right, George may not be concerned but I'd bet his PR people are. They'd have to be a little concerned if it affects his income and his popularity. And maybe I'm way off course here, but I am tangentially related to the marketing world and when a "product" is being ridiculed or bad mouthed, it does not bode well for said product.

I've looked at articles on places like Celebitchy from 7 or 8 years ago. The comments were markedly different. They were more along the line of "atta boy" type comments. All pro-George and mostly boys will be boys type commentary.

Those comments are few and far between now. Most make fun of his dating record and many talk about how old he looks versus Stacy. When he first started dating her, most of the comments were anti Stacy, many like those our friend the nut job makes when she sneaks aboard COH. There are still those comments, probably courtesy of our friend, but many are now pro-Stacy and anti-George-i.e., they hope she "dumps" him first.

You all may be right. The people who take the time to write that trash are probably not his fan base anyway, but I think he does need to appeal to the 20-40 something female/male demographic and, based on the comments on those sites, he's losing the women.

I got sidetrack before when I went to get the article about the snowball fight. How I got to Esquire not very sure, I was getting the article for April 2008, "The 9:10 To Crazyland." It's the one where they Google Geroge's name; funny article. Even back then as George said they either love you or loath you, I guess not that much has changed except the younger guys throw the age thing in.

I'm really not convinced by that. People love to bitch about celebrities online (look at the grief the kardashians get) and yet will still watch his films or buy his DVDs.

I think that George believes that by being single he is going to keep his biggest fan base, which is women, and thusly rake in sales at the box office. For example, I can imagine that many women turned on ER and drooled over George, raising the ratings. But he's not that young anymore. And honestly, if I am going to watch a movie, I would rather go to a movie with a good actor than a good looking actor, even if that "good" actor is married, makes no difference to me. I feel that George needs to start selling his movies based on his good acting skills, rather than his looks.

PlayfulDeb,
I want it all. All of his movie making
skills, acting, directing, writing and producing. But I want the complete
package, let's face it there's something that the man has that comes from within
that he's never going to lose. He is also never going to lose his looks as far
as I'm concerned. He could go bald toothless whatever he's still going to have
that something special.

Don't laugh, it is a combination of all his qualities. Even his
mischievous ways he
looks and acts sometimes. Call me hopeless. Like I say will be heartbroken
when/if he gets married, however I would be happy for him if he was happy. I
doubt if I'd come on here, I don't lust after married men.

With all due respect

Incredibly annoying stuff, but what on earth are they doing with their lives? Have they been as successful? Are they as caring about people less fortunate as themselves? Or are they just time wasters with a broad selection of bad language??

There's a certain type of person who enjoys anonymously writing rubbish, lies or even filth, on any site where comments are allowed.

You mean on a celebrity site like this one?

Interesting that posters here don't consider themselves the same as the people who post on those other sites. They are bad people. I am pretty sure I have seen a lot of bad language, mocking, belittling, stating gossip as fact, etc on this site - especially in the girlfriends section.

Can anyone who posts here really judge other who post on other celebrity sites and question the lives and experiences of those posters? Or do they all just get lumped in the same bucket as being uneducated with no lives just because they are posting opinions you don't agree with about a celebrity that you personally like?

Or because we post at a "forum" do you consider us higher up the food chain then those who post on generic celebrity sites with JJ or Celebitchy? That they are the lowly bottom feeders. Then honestly, what does that make us as we are doing the exact same thing here - just about one celebrity in particular and not whoever got papped today?

And yes, there is "a certain type of person who enjoys anonymously writing rubbish, lies or even filth, on any site where comments are allowed". And some of them have a password to post here. Let's not get holier than thou about this site. We are exactly the same as many other sites. No point looking down your nose at them unless you are happy to accept the same treatment from them.

Watching, I think on balance this site has more stringent rules, a more caring attitude about others who post, and focuses on the positives, and topical subjects including all the Humanitarian efforts Our Man gets involved with, and the wider causes of the world, e g Nicholas Kristof today on celebrity enabling the smaller voices of the world.

Obviously, a very wide spectrum of posters cannot always guarantee that attitude, but by and large I would like to think that we (mostly) reflect the better things (and I would like to think that continues) rather than character assassination of people we don't know personally which seems very prevalent elsewhere. If I found myself ever thinking otherwise, I would leave.

But that's just what I think............

Who knows what his relationship with any GF is all about, how much is PR for him, for her, how much is real? Can he really have what we consider a real romance? George has learned over the years that whoever he dates is going to get too much attention in the press, and be slammed on the blogs. So I believe that he takes this into consideration when choosing a GF, he wants someone who can take it, doesn't what another SL, that will be hurt by all the media attention, and yes I believe she was hurt, not that she was innocent, but was hurt by all the blogs. He may not need a GF to promote his work, but he gets much more attention with GF than without. Just look at the out to dinner in Berlin thread. The last couple of years his dating habits are making him seem foolish, and for that I'am sad, being his fan I don't feel that he is a joke, but others do.

I think George is a grown man and who dates is his business. If he and Stacy are happy in their relationship good for them I wish them the best. I do find a lot of the comments plain nasty on some sites. George is like any other man when a relationship ends they move on as do women. If he weren't famous this would not be a big deal.

I'm new to this site, but I personally like GC and SK together of all the woman he has dated. Sometimes I feel she now really likes all the attention she is getting by being the GF, but I think they compliment each other. So if it is meant to be, maybe she will be around a little longer, who knows.

I personally love COH there are a lot of nice people on here, and I know that I get a little protective when there's too much tearing apart of George. Most of the members might criticize about some things but they don't annihilate George like other places do. He's only human with his good and his not-so-good, to me his good far out weighs anything else What people consider to be his bad I don't understand.

He's generally not a rude person, if he has the time he's there for his fans. In the spur of the moment he'll automatically help someone if he see's that they need assistance. This's something that's part of your charactor, not put on. He's a terrific humaitarian, we could use a lot more like him. Also his friends, but I might think he does more because I'm more aware of what George is doing, a lot in part to COH. Thanks.
Even as far as Stacy goes there have been a lot of positive discussion and some critique which is normal. I'm personally not fond of her; and that's my problem; most likely because she is the GF of George, I'm human. because of this I go out of my way to not talk about her.
