George Clooney is ill?

Waiting for George Clooney
In Gröben everything was ready but the Hollywood star was not.

GROEBEN - George Clooney is sick. This the MAZ [the newspaper Maerkischeallgemeine zeitung) experienced yesterday when they waited in vain at the Gröbener Landhotel "Theodore F." to get the superstar before the lens.

Deserted the village, where for theatrical and television films so much is shot. The kitchens of "Theodore F." were a hive of activity since early morning: the Babelsberg film studios had ordered 40 places for 1pm to 2pm. Two courses to choose from, of which there should be one vegetarian, Serviervorgabe 30 minutes.

Whether Clooney would be there, the owner and chef Torsten Heine claimed not to know or really didn't know. "Everyone knows that we are discreet. Who is doing what is irrelevant - everyone has the right to eat well ". There was food for 36 film people: crispy fried guinea fowl with oranges and poppy seed risotto with ginger and carrots or fresh fettuccine with arugula, dried tomatoes, olives and pecorino.

Neither Heine nor Joyce Winkler, Nancy Kadar nor Elke Petersdorf were over excited. The latter had already "worked with numerous stunts". All four had as always "fun". Yesterday they had come specially for the film people who are in the region to design search for "The Monuments Men" - the film about Nazi-looted art, in which George Clooney, producer, director and stars. Otherwise, "Theodore F." is udually closed on Tuesdays. (By Jutta Abromeit)

Oh, this is pretty! Love it.
Maybe he did catch the flu after going out by night in London with the open coat and without a scarf?

I remember there were a few of them at the BAFTAs that they said were sick but went. His resistance is most likely low also because of all the running that he has had to do. If he has congestion he might not be able to fly.

Dumb that I am I right away thought someone should put on a pot of chicken soup, my soup has cured many a cold. I am praying that is all that is the matter.

I hope george is better. He should take care of himself and not work so hard. Berlin was very cold, he just might have a cold but I hope not serious. He works very hard and does not seem to get much rest when he is working. He needs to go to Cabo and relax after this . May you get better, love ya barbara

Stress is the number one cause of illness and brings on many degenerative diseases. He should be happy, above all.

It's Me it can be done. If, for example, an integral actor in a film gets sick and is unable to perform they might be able to film around them for a bit but eventually they would need to shut it down until the actor was better.

For anyone who knows, isn't this what film insurance is for? Or does that only apply for production that is permanently shut down?

But if he's stressed or has some fundamental personal concerns (like perhaps complacency/ unhappiness/ anxiety) & he keeps it locked up because of work responsibilities, he will GRADUALLY degenerate health wise. Ultimately that could will be his demise...& those who rely on him for financial ventures.
He should make his wellbeing (emotional & physical) his priority. Everything else will naturally follow its course.

Could it be that George had to be somewhere else and just didn't go to this town? Or maybe they thought he was coming and he never planned to in the first place. I think Katie said she thought he may already be in Los Angeles. Aren't there parties going on now for the Oscars? Bet he's downing Casamigos with Rande et.al. and waiting for the big party to begin.

if work is so important maybe skip the oscars but keep doing the movie. although i don't think he would do that.....if it's anxiety and unhappiness then he needs to figure out what would make him happier. just because the red carpet looks so good for a while soon if you aren't happy that red carpet may look dirt brown if you know what i mean....

PRECISELY. Forcing himself all the time will undermine him in the long run. THERE NEEDS TO BE A BALANCE!

He's reached the top of his league, achieved so much in terms of work... He should focus on HIS own personal needs too.

HIS needs... not the public.. not what the fans want or whatever... if he winds up working as a journalist or whatever helping the sudanese full time whatever makes him happy

I don't know where the George is sick thread came from except from that German piece where he didn't show up at a certain location. There could have been a misunderstanding between the studio and the town and he was never scheduled to go in the first place. Google translate murders the English language, and presumably other languages as well. Kind of think this is just a bunch of hooey.

No, I think it was an accurate report. The crew had also already ordered food for the crew as well so he was definitely expected.

I think so too. And knowing George, it would have to be pretty bad to keep him away. A slight little cough, headache or stomach condition wouldn't ever do it. he has worked before under painful conditions. So i doubt it would be anything light.

He may still be recovering because if it was flu or lung condition, he may have had to see a doctor.
