I have no answers but only so many question marks! If once envied the women who came with him this (Stacy) can only make me pain and anger! Pena because I hate stupid women or approfitatrici that stand to be treated as a nullity, and continue to say to be happy and smile (fuck, but we women do not dolls) Anger, because I hate women who are treated as optional by men (surrender our dignity as women!)

But if a woman allows herself to be treated like that then she is the guilty party. She's a big girl she could walk away from George if she wanted to but her in eyes the benefits to her career obviously outweigh anything else.

I agree you that a woman allows herself to be treated this way. However, then there is also a man willing to treat a woman like that.

Sadly, I'm beginning to think women are all accessories for George, with the one exception being his Mom. Suspect Stacy knew that going into the relationship and, if she's fine with their arrangement, then I don't see anything wrong with it. It isn't what I would want but I'm not struggling to make it in a business that takes no prisoners.

She might have different priorities in life and so does he.
For her it seems to be the most important to enjoy a luxury lifestyle, to be photographed in expensive dresses at exclusive events and to be admired for her beauty. If this is your purpose in life, she hit the jackpot with George.
With the choice of his girlfriends he appears as superficial as her tweets and everything else what comes out of her mouth in public.
He likes his girlfriends showing off her assets in public and obviously he does not care for what else bullshit they are doing with their lifes as long as they are there when he needs them.
Maybe the luxury of true love and passionate romantic feelings is left up to other people in this world....

Sadly I think George has gotten so big that he no longer can have a "normal relationship". I do not think he whole-heartedly can just relax and trust a woman. I cannot say that I blame him. Being someone that does not let others in my heart breaks for him because he is such a basic good person.

The man is 51, don't you think he must have met some proper women in his life yet?
My theory is, if he met the "right" woman, he rejected her.
He would have tested her over and over again to see if he could trust her and whatever she did would have been analyzed and critisized until he found something. And as you can find something beautiful in any person on earth, no matter how bad their character is, you can find something bad in an honest and loyal person too, nobody is perfect.
Nevertheless he would have some feelings he couldn't control, because love has its own dynamic and will not wait for him to be ready with testing, doubting and questioning and I think he would not like to feel out of control. Too much trouble in little China Town Very Happy

If you read this article, you might conclude that George does not have enough vasopressin in his system to be long term faithful to one woman. Perhaps there is more brain chemsitry involved than personal choice in these matters.

Everyone's definition of what is the right woman is different and maybe George's definition of the right woman is someone who is willing to be an accessory for a couple of years and then move on.

Well now that we're speaking of George's wrinkles...

Did anyone notice in the pictures from the BAFTA arrivals/with the fans that his neck looked kinda wrinkly?

Don't know if it was the angle or if he's suddenly gotten that crepe-y wrinkle-y look like a turkey's neck. JMO

I guess george will always be a playboy at heart. he once was married and now he is free like a bird that has been caged in. You never know but oneday he might just settle down but not now. I think he is a great guy and fun, loving , and very ambitious, and working hard at being an actor, producer, film maker. love you george, bg

"...free as a bird that's been caged in" Well that bird's been free since 1993 so that's 20 years that he's been out of the coop!

I don't think he's got any issue about feeling "caged in." And I guess if he gets that 3 year itch he just moves on. Seems at times though that he's been an ass about how he let's them know the relationship is over (running off with the boys on a trip while having someone else tell her to move out) is pretty pathetic.

Of course, George can date most any woman he likes, they get younger each year in comparison to his age, he doesn't seem to have issue with it - even though many of his fans do - and he sees no reason to change what he's doing.

What I find sad though is that he doesn't feel that he can have his career and have a long-term, committed relationship.

But then again, when you think about the amount of energy it takes to have a successful relationship I guess he feels he'd rather put that energy into his work and not into any lasting relationship.

I also think societal expectation is an issue. Women STILL are encouraged to seek the "Prince" who will give them a fairy tale wedding with a fairy tale, happily ever after ending.

George ain't no Prince. No coat of arms hangs over his mantle and nobody's tapped him twice on the shoulders with a sword - so we can rule out Prince!

Like everyone else he's flawed, but unlike a lot of other people he knows his limitations.

I wouldn't have issue with his girlfriends if so many of them weren't so damn predictable. Sleazy pictures or jobs trying to make it in the "industry" - hooking up with men in an attempt to get a break, make it in the biz, become famous and make their fortune. Or so they think.

They use him - he uses them - he probably pays them off in the end. Fair trade since none of them is complaining.

For me it affects his credibility but since he doesn't give a rats ass about my opinion all I get to do is to rant here at times. The rest of the time I'm laughing my ass off with all the different interactions, commentary, postings and jokes.

Was just posting when you got in there first Lorna and thank God. You are a hoot girlfriend! And you always say so poetically what I try to say...was thinking the same thing; George has been out of that cage for a loooooooooong time!

Let's face it Barbara, George is a bit of a sexist. That said, I'm beginning to think Ol' Stace may be the one he settles for. That girl's game has been damn good. She's easy to be around, accepts the constraints of a relationship with George, must be good in the sack and has mastered the red carpet. And, most of all, I think her timing is perfect. Guys like George go one of two ways; they stick with the flower to flower deal and never settle down or they get tired of the game and settle for the one they're with at the time. Based on the George "specialists" on this site, he's looking a bit on the tired side of late so maybe he's ready to settle down?

I think any and all of his girls think of themselves as accessories, not true loves. Unless they've been living under a rock I'm sure they're smart enough to realize their relationship isn't going any further than pure PR coverage. They know what to expect and I'm sure before the relationship even started they've been clued in to what to expect.

I think they start out telling themselves it's not serious but, I do think most of them end up believing in the fairy tale and start to think they're the one. It's human nature. I know I have the terrible habit of trying to "fix" or make others happy and, no matter how many times I've been burned, I still do it to a certain extent. It's easy to delude yourself sadly.

I agree with you, many women in the world are in love with George and it is possible that his GF were not in love with him! The only one that I think is cool and not love Stacy, she just seems to love herself!
Maybe she is also the only one that will satisfy (at least it seems to me) the little that he has because her purpose is fame not love because otherwise (surely suffering) would have already left because with any other GF he has been so cold and distant! If you really love that you can not bear.

Well, girls, we can hypothesize all we like.

It's their relationship and only they know. I think it must be hell to keep some sort of normality, and I for one don't blame them at all for keeping a low profile, especially on key dates.

Oh, and if we didn't see many pix at Christmas and New Year, it could be that maybe they wanted to keep the column inches for a certain tequila launch..............

I think perhaps Georges normality is reserved for behind closed doors - speculate is all we can do, as none of us knows how he interacts with Stacy or anyone when he closes his front door. There are a million pictures of him looking lips (drunken or sober) on the internet, maybe this time, he decided not to behave in that way, keep whats private truly private. Just supposition on my part of course.

Well that's interesting but just to clarify - "they" might need to be changed to "one did" just saying.

Unless we can think of any other elderly playboys who settle down and have kids.

Hugh Hefner doesn't count. We can all conjecture that the women who've married him are only interested in his money and what he can do for their careers.

Anna Nicole married that really old guy but does anyone seriously think they were having sex? Ah, she probably let him feel her up but probably couldn't do that too much - you know didn't want to kill the old coot till she could be sure he'd changed his will.

Oh wait, Steve Martin just had a baby at 67 but he wasn't considered a playboy so he doesn't really count, does he.

See I'm having trouble coming up with another really serious candidate for gorgeous lady's man who married at an older age...

Anyone want to join in? I'm tapped! (Must be all the damn sugar I had today. Everyone and their grandmothers brought in something sweet, sugary or just damn fattening to work today and I had no willpower AT ALL!) Damn Valentine's Day!!! Very Happy

Warren Beatty is always mentioned in reference to George. And Annette B is 25 years younger than he is. Think he was 54 55 when they married. I think they basically get tired of the game as they get older. Then whoever theyre with ends up with the old buggers. It must be exhausting to start with a new one so often but I'm thinking as a woman.

You beat me to it Oof, was just about to mention Warren Beatty, in his day a lot of people thought the same about him, as they do now George, the Eternal Bachelor.

But I digress, topic is not about whether GC will settle down per se and more about whether women in his lives are more of an accessory I guess...

Warren Beatty is the one always mentioned, but that's one guy. I'd call him the exception that proves the rule.

Many playboys seem to get married, then divorced, then remarried, then divorced, dragging their poor children from different mothers through all that mess. I'm glad George doesn't do that.

Umm, yes they do. Cary Grant got married and had a baby when he was 62.

Oh, great!
Meaning George has left another ten years for playing around, then he can be the father and the grandfather of his child in one person.
Good plan! Do we have an emoticon of a wheelchair?

Stacy? But this woman really exists in the life of George or is it just an accessory? Empty Re: Stacy? But this woman really exists in the life of George or is it just an accessory?

Well let's hope George changes he view about the baby thing an gives us a beautiful baby boy just like him with a different woman than Stacy , someone who will love him an the baby , an will not use George for fame an money , she will be with him for love an only that , that's why George dosen't settle down until now he hasn't found a woman with these qualities . He then can became a Cary Grand too Love7

Don't you feel a little sorry for beautiful baby boy when he wanted to do all these important father and son thingies like fishing, sailing, camping etc., but he just can't, because his father is in his EIGHTIES?

lol! Your fertile imagination knows no bounds Dior ! Coolio

We are all aware of George's statements that he doesn't want children,
so why start criticising him for being a ficticious older non-active Dad
to a non-excitant boy child.

I respect his honesty and believe what he's said in the past.

St George also has said he is never going to remarry so people should also believe that and respect his decision..

What a heady thing to know you can have virtually any woman you want for as long as you want whenever you want wherever you want. Few men have that level of privilege and I seriously doubt, (since men get addicted to variety), that George would EVER forfeit it. I imagine he'll still be one helluva rich, handsome bugger at 80 and could still get pretty young things to entertain him. Just randomly thinking out loud. I've had too much sugar, too.

It must be both heady as you point out but boring too. He seems to pick them based mostly on physical appearance and age. They may all also be intellectually stimulating but going on the premise that they are as they appear, it's amazing he sticks with them as long as he does, when there seems to be an inexhaustible number of 20 and 30 something women available for the taking.

Jack N apparently hasn't slowed down in his 80s and he's just rich and famous, not even beautiful like our George, so unless he gets tired of educating new arm candy, and settles for Stacy or the next one, we will all probably still be blogging about 90 year old George and 30 year old Candy, 40 years from now!

As far as kids, I hope he sticks to his guns. While it's biologically possible for him to have them at his age, I personally think it's selfishness and medically dangerous to the kids. They're discovering that men above 50 who have babies are twice more likely to have schizophrenic or bipolar children as well as autistic children. My parents were older, as in their 40s, when I surprised them. And, while they were wonderful, they weren't as active as friend's parents, I lost my Dad at 30 and spent many years caring for my mama. just my humble opinion.

I am with you Oaf Oaf about the children. My parents had me in their 40's also. My Dad died when I was in my early thirties but he had his first stroke when I was 25. My Mom died a few years ago in her 80's and while she never was officially sick she aged and I became a caretaker.

Was it mentioned up thread that Steve Martin just had a baby in his 60's? Even though it will easier because he has money he still won't see his children grow up. This is just my opinion of course.

As far as Warren Beatty is concerned once he got married his career never went anywhere. Not saying marriage did that to him but you never know.
