Lisa is very pretty and at 40, she looks great.

Today I was talking to a lady who I thought she was at least late 50s
then she told me she was 45. My heart almost stopped.

It's incredible how some people manage to look great at their age, like Lisa.

Matt and Luciana look lovely, they been married like 4 or 5 years?

I agree about the red bandage dress it does make her look short-waisted. She does have beautiful long legs. Some people have a long torso like me and shorter legs.

I think it's an advantage to have a longer torso because when you gain weight it doesn't show as much. My height is in my torso and friends don't believe I'm 130 pounds at 5 ft. 5 in.

Discovery Networks International Orders 20 Hours of Original Content from Maverick

The U.K. production firm will produce "Body Confidential," hosted by presenter and model Lisa Snowdon, for TLC internationally and a second season of "My Naked Secret."

NEW YORK - Discovery Communications' Discovery Networks International has commissioned 20 hours of original programming from U.K. production firm Maverick.

The content includes 15 hours of lifestyle and five hours of factual programming that will air on the cable networks company’s portfolio of 144 TV networks worldwide.

Among the programs is Body Confidential, a new hour-long series hosted by TV presenter, radio DJ and model Lisa Snowdon, which got a four-episode order and will air on TLC internationally. The series is described as a "fashion show where the man is in control of his wife's wardrobe."

The programs also include the second season of half-hour personal transformation program My Naked Secret, which got an order of 12 episodes. The renewal marks the first original DNI production to be greenlit for a second season. The series, which follows individuals' struggle with a hidden secret about their body, first premiered on TLC in Poland. It then rolled out around the world on TLC and other lifestyle networks, including Discovery Fit & Health in the U.S.

Titles and formats for the remaining 10 hours of Maverick content will be announced at a later date, the companies said.

“DNI is committed to teaming up with top-notch production companies to provide our viewers with the very best in factual and lifestyle entertainment, designed to appeal to both global and local audiences,” said Julian Bellamy, creative director and head of production and development at Discovery Communications' international arm. “With a proven track record for delivering compelling series and attracting fresh talent, including Lisa Snowdon, who we are very pleased to have on board, Maverick is a natural partner for DNI, and we look forward to furthering our already-strong relationship in the future.”

Maverick’s Alexandra Fraser promised "a raft of intelligent and entertaining formats with global appeal - a trademark which we believe applies equally to Discovery and Maverick."

Discovery says it reaches more than 1.5 billion cumulative subscribers in over 200 countries and territories. Discovery Networks International distributes 26 international brands, reaching over 1 billion cumulative subscribers with programming in 45 languages.

Lisa Snowdon is looking for a boyfriend and she believes she could find her 'Mr. Right' in one of the supermarkets she shops at.

The radio presenter - who was previously in a five year on/off relationship with George Clooney - admits her love life is in a dire state at the moment and she thinks it's time to spread her romantic search to food stores because that's where she spends all her time.

The Capital FM DJ exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "My love life is really rubbish at the moment. I think I might my find my ideal man in Whole Foods or a supermarket because that's where I always am, looking for food.

"Maybe it'll be one of the managers. It will be like, 'Ding-Dong aisle three - found him!' "

Although she is actively on the hunt for her 'Mr. Right', Lisa admits she only has herself to blame for her romantic woes because she is so picky when it comes to men.

She added: "I don't really help my dating situation by being very, very choosey and also not going out.

George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Lisa Snowdon was left terrified after suffering a breast cancer scare during a check-up.

The British model and TV personality, who was in a five-year on/off relationship with the actor, feared the worst after doctors discovered a lump in her breast.

She recalls, "I had my own little scare recently. Because of the history of breast cancer in my family, I went for a routine check a year ago. They found a little something."

The growth turned out to be harmless, but Snowdon, who is a spokesperson for two cancer charities in the U.K., admits the experience highlighted the importance of regular screenings.

Snowdon adds, "It turned out to be a micro-calcification (deposits of calcium in the milk ducts), which is common and nothing dangerous. But it was really good to have had the check and now I go every year."

But on a serious note - this thing about breast cancer screening.

I've had an issue with mammograms for years cause no matter how big or small your breasts that machine is PAINFUL! And I'm sure it was invented by a MAN!

So I had not had one done for several years.

Anyway, this year I found a new way to get this testing done.

It's called Breast Thermography and measures the heat of the body.

The way the doctor explained it to me is that an area that might be cancerous or have a lump would photograph with the infrared equipment as a cold spot being fed by blood vessels that would be photographed as giving off heat.

The infrared camera is across the room and there are certain protocols that must be followed for the room. (see the link below)

But since NOTHING touches the patient - including the doctor - there is NO PAIN!

In the US it IS approved by the FDA but you must find a reputable doctor and also reputable "reading" lab or medical practice.

I was lucky to find both and now use this instead of mammography. I'm not trying to get anyone to do anything that their doctor is not comfortable with - but if you want an alternative DO YOUR RESEARCH to find a reputable practitioner who follows the proper protocols.

Also, bring the info to your doctor. Maybe he/she can see the benefits of this procedure and, as opposed to you NOT getting any screening at all, might assist you in finding a proper facility for you to get the testing done.

At this point, at least in my area, it is NOT covered by insurance. Interestingly, when it first came out it was but I'll bet the mammogram facilities put up a big stink due to lost business and now insurance companies don't cover it.

I found that my health (and the pain free procedure) made it worth my while to pay for it out of my own pocket.

Donning a silver sequined floor-length frock, Lisa looked every inch the glamour star as she welcomed pop acts such as Cheryl Cole, Little Mix and JLS to the stage at the O2 Arena.

Hard for a big breasted woman to wear a dress cut like that, tends to make your breast look saggy when they aren't. She's still a beautiful woman with a lot of personality. Can remember reading that George and her got along like " A House On Fire" sounded like fun.

She is an "average size" woman. Guess I've been noticing too many Hollywood type girls. I am too thin myself and apparently I judge the plus size women too harshly. There's so many ads about how to lose weight and very little if any on how to gain.

Misssa, you're right and I'm ashamed of myself! I too don't think she's fat, and like Cindi, have obviously been looking at too many Hollywood types because you are so right about her being a healthy and normal size. I do think the dress is the wrong cut for her. It adds pounds where there are none. But, I stopped reading Celebitchy because I was horrified at how mean we women were towards other women, and look...I just did it with Lisa! Thanks for pointing it out to me!

CindiGirl, I don't have a problem with being too skinny, in fact, you couldn't see the barn I'm standing in front of, but I feel sad that EVERYONE judges if you're an ounce too fat and push, push, pushes to be skinny. I don't think that skinny thin looks all too healthy.

Mel, so agree with you except about your description about yourself! Have had weight issues my entire life. Have struggled to be healthy, food wise and have finally hit a relatively happy medium. But unlike many people who stop eating under stress, I sadly do the opposite...I want to EAT when I'm depressed, stressed, happy , sad...pretty much every occasion--and it sucks!

This society has such a fixation with weight and it's horrible for women and even worse for teen girls. And, I do think Hollywood and the media/fashion world in general bears some responsibility. I remember reading somewhere that teen girls said they'd rather die than be fat.

Think for Stacy, between being so much taller and heavier, in a healthy way, than George, when they first started together, the pressure has been so intense, she's become fixated on losing weight. And look at all the mags and how glowingly they describe her.

It's best to keep slim as when you get older you could gain weight anyway.

Or you could follow George's path when he gained weight for Syriana..... 30 pounds was it ??
He ate loads of burgers and milky drinks I believe....well so he said.....probably drank it all on ?

Lisa looks like any normal 40 year old woman beautiful and healthy. Now that I'm not off topic OofOof, good for you , I also put on weight after turning 40 and spent a decade not taking care of myself. Than I lost 90lbs last year, I've gained a little of that weight back, but nothing like before and I'm much better about what I'm eating and how much, it is about choices. Don't believe in cleansing as a way to control your weight, IMO it's just the new laxative method we've used in the past. Women in general have to stop thinking what we see in Hollywood,TV,MAGS etc. is the only attractive.

Gotta agree with Missa about her looks thing. She looks normal - the camera adds pounds.

But my issue with Lisa during her time with George was the diarrhea mouth when it came to when/where/what she was going to be doing with George and the suspicion that she was just with him for the publicity. Also, when they were on the red carpet for events that were specifically for George, she tended to want to take over the conversation. And then the "ring" thing. Same as Eli.

Her famous arrival back from spending time with George and she tries to hide a "ring" she was wearing on her engagement finger. As if it was some sort of fuck you to everyone and wasn't it funny.

For women who have professed to have "no interest" in marriage and having kids while they were with George, they sure played the hide the fake ring (oh yea, they didn't try to hide it) game very well.

So that was my issue with Lisa. But as to her looks - I always thought she was very beautiful and I did give her credit for being there with George when he had gotten injured. I guess he felt grateful to her too and maybe their relationship lasted longer than he would have wanted had he not felt beholding to her for being there for him.

But in the end, like all his other girlfriends, she didn't last either. But I'm sure they've stayed friends. (Unlike Eli who I think he wants nothing to do with). JMO

Lorna, please know that when I made the comment about the dress not doing her any favors I did not mean to imply I thought she was fat. She is a beautiful woman and has a very nice figure. I felt horrible on that thread because we all did kind of pick at her when Missa finally pointed out to us all that we were used to seeing stick figures in photoshopped magazines and that those women were the ones that were not normal!

As far as not liking her for taking advantage of her relationship with George, since I'm new to following him quite this closely, I have to say, has he been with anyone who hasn't used him for publicity?
