That Jesse Ventura guy
Ok, I'm going to show my ignorance here (and clearly I'm going to have to do a lot of googling) but how credible is Jesse Ventura? I ask because while channel hopping I keep coming across his programme about conspiracy theories.
I find it annoying because his 'investigations' are so one-sided but the show yesterday really caught my mind because it was about detention centres that exist all across the USA. He went and filmed one of them (it had barbed wire around the inside, ie: to keep detainees in) and really seemed to get the run around from everyone he spoke to.
Who is he and is he even worth paying attention to?

Re: That Jesse Ventura guy
He is a former wrestler turned actor turned politician....I think he was governer of Minnesota. He is, I think a conservative but not a Republican. He's written a few books and has very strange ideas. I don't think anyone takes him too seriously.

Re: That Jesse Ventura guy
Jesse Ventura was the governor of Minnesota elected in 1998 and only served one term. He ran under the Reform party and came into the race late after a negative campaign between the democrat and republican candidates. People were sick of the other two and voted for him.
He was a former wrestler for the WWF (WWE or whatever) and probably took a few too many knocks to the head. He is full of himself and rambles on to whoever will listen. IMO he is not playing with a full deck, his driveway doesn't meet the street or the light is not on - take your pick.

Re: That Jesse Ventura guy
Katiedot,
Jesse Ventura has been kicked off his own show at least 3 times, in part due to complaints from elected law makers that his views are just too "out there." Leonard Nimoy once had a popular show examining unsolved mysteries and scientific and unscientific theories. One episode examined what happened to the escaped criminals from Alcatraz. Ventura's show goes far beyond the proven facts. There are many radical conspiracy theorists on the internet. Ventura has a well-known name, and thus a cable show.

Thanks guys. I googled him later and have dismissed his show as nothing more than entertainment.
