Dog with celebrity ties disappears in Scottsdale

© CBS 5SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) - The family of a California dog with celebrity ties is offering a $4,000 reward for information on the pet's disappearance from a Scottsdale home.
Darcy Basinger, the sister of the dog's owner, said the dog had been with her sister on a visit from California, but noticed the dog's discomfort with staying in their parents' home.
Basinger said the dog ran away Thursday from E. Remuda Drive, and she and her sister have been searching for him ever since. Jo Jo, a Golden Retriever and Cocker Spaniel mix, was formerly rescued in California and placed in a shelter called Camp Cocker, which is the same facility actor George Clooney picked his dog from.
Clooney's ties to Camp Cocker may have helped Jo Jo's owners, as they were able to get Clooney's girlfriend, fellow celebrity Stacy Kiebler, to post a picture of the missing dog to her Facebook page.
Basinger said having already rescued Jo Jo, she and her sister are desperately trying to keep him from homelessness again.
Information or inquiries about Jo Jo can be directed to Darcy Basinger at 626-755-6875 or [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Stacy Keibler assists search for runaway dog
Quotes from Stacy's FB about the missing dog.
Sounds a sad story up to now.
Hope he gets found soon and has not been injured in any way.
Camp Cocker Rescue
Stacy, I can't thank you enough for posting this (this is Cathy Stanley, the founder of Camp Cocker Rescue). Jojo was a dog we rescued from the Devore Shelter (San Bernardino County, the same county Einstein was rescued from). And Jojo was very thin and timid when we rescued him.
Shortly after his rescue, he had to have an emergency surgery on a ripped diaphram and his liver had moved to the opposite side. This must have been the result of a blunt force.
Jojo was only adopted eight weeks ago and he has very much bonded to his new dog mommy. They were visiting family in AZ and he escaped to go and look for her! Here is a video from the day we picked him up from his surgery and you can clearly see what a timid sweet soul he is:

Camp Cocker Rescue Thank you to everyone whom can share Jojo's story and his video clip to anyone in the Scottsdale area.
He is going to flee from humans because he is timid, but if you can corner him in someone's backyard or coax him into a fenced yard with some food, then close the yard in - that might be the only way to catch him.
He has not a mean bone in his body and he will most likely just give up and flatten himself to the ground in fear. Thank you for helping to find Jojo and return him to safety with his dog mommy!

Huh.....it's nice if she is helping this poor dog from the heart but just wrong on many levels if she is only doing it to get her name in the papers because people questioned her devotion to Einstein. JMO

Good that SK is using tweeting and her fan base to try and help reunite a special family. Pray that it works, and more dogs are rescued.

Re: Stacy Keibler assists search for runaway dog
If the papers pick up on the request made TO SK on Face Book,
FROM the worried owner of the dog,
then that's a good thing, isn't it ?
The more it is publicised, then hopefully more people in the appropriate area will be looking for the missing dog.
At the end of the day, there's a frightened doggie missing
out there, instead of being safe at home.

George grew up rescuing animals in Augusta, KY. Nina belongs to an animal rescue group in Northern Kentucky. It is in his blood to be an animal rescuer

Re: Stacy Keibler assists search for runaway dog
It's good that she tweeted to help, but I'm sure she gets a lot of requests to tweet about different charities and causes but I don't see her doing a lot of re-tweeting on different causes. She would probably gain more respect if she took some time to support specific causes rather than using twitter to talk about bagel chips or to prove she is George's girlfriend.

Re: Stacy Keibler assists search for runaway dog
The only person who has always done her best for the animals is Elizabeth and George followed the advice of her before taking his Einstein, now it seems to me that Stacy is the imitation of her and George enjoy the affection of her dog after she urged him to adopt a dog. I think that if George had a great affection for animals would adopt a dog first ascertained that his bulldog was killed by a snake in 2005 or 2004, the year that George has not called because he was injured on the set of Siryana, the husband of his sister Ada died of a heart attack, his grandmother died, but adopted Einstein moved from Ely.

Re: Stacy Keibler assists search for runaway dog
Lela, you are absolutely right, Einstein was adopted in, I think, 2010 in Italy when G was with Elisabetta. E's love for animals was the redeeming quality for her in my estimation.
And now, at the risk of tallking against Stacy, S seems to be taking the credit, calling him "her" dog.

Re: Stacy Keibler assists search for runaway dog
Quoted from Camp Cocker Rescue, where Einstein came from.
He was taken to George in Casa Clooney in LA.
Remember the turkey balls ?
What we do
Our primary mission is to rescue dogs from high kill shelters in the Los Angeles region. There are more than thirty high kill shelters that are within a 125 mile radius of Los Angeles County.
The amount of dogs in shelters are overwhelming. On any given day there can be between two and seven cockers PER shelter! We have a "worry list" that can have up to sixty cockers on it.
These are the dogs in immediate danger of being put to sleep.
We can't save them all, we can't even save ten percent of them. But instead of giving up, we are determined to save whom we can, one dog at a time.
Because the shelter dogs are at most risk, we rarely accept
owner relinquishments.

I think Joanna is right, Einstein was taken to George's home in LA from camp cocker. I remember George talking about the home visit. It was during his time with EC though and there were pictures of Einstein with George and EC in italy.
