Re: LOVE LOVE LOVE !
Nice. Here is another one from C.Joy Bell C for you ladies
“You only need one man to love you. But him to love you free like a wildfire, crazy like the moon, always like tomorrow, sudden like an inhale and overcoming like the tides. Only one man and all of this.”

Re: LOVE LOVE LOVE !
“Indeed, for the last three years, he had carefully avoided her, as a result of the natural cowardice so characteristic of the stronger sex...”
Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary

Nice, Flaubert´s words.
"You call yourself a free spirit, a "wild thing," and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself."
Breakfast at Tiffany's

True. Great quotes above. Very deep...
But the coward robs himself of happiness & subsequently may feel some inner misery.
....
"Then there was silence. They looked at each other, and their thoughts, mingling in the same anguish of mind, clung closely to one another like two throbbing bosoms."
- Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary, Ch. 15
(Flaubert in French, Italian...& English)

For as long as the coward believes he IS INDEED a coward... and ALLOWS himself that inner misery
Na, cowardice is NEVER THE END... it is just a bridge that one must cross eventually... something which only faith and love can propel... the right love

Oh my dear, I found 143 quotes about cowardice on only one page, when I googled "world's worst coward".
This for the silence...

Bravo Dior!! Yes INDEED we must!! But then, that should not mean that the root of cowardice / fear factor, is swept away and hidden underneath the cupboards of reality in the mind...
Whether among Family or Friends... there will always be those who will help BUILD that bridge... those who will help BURN it... and then those who will help CROSS IT if that is required to be...

The Beatles say it for me !
"All You Need Is Love"
Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love
There's nothing you can do that can't be done
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung
Nothing you can say but you can learn how
to play the game
It's easy
Nothing you can make that can't be made
No one you can save that can't be saved
Nothing you can do but you can learn how
to be you in time
It's easy
All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love
All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
Nothing you can know that isn't known
Nothing you can see that isn't shown
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're
meant to be
It's easy
All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
All you need is love (All together, now!)
All you need is love (Everybody!)
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Re: LOVE LOVE LOVE !
Anyway.... I prefer Mellors in Lady Chatterley's Lover.
That's a passionate love story.
Madame Bovary isn't one of my favorite books. Rather sad. And Leon Dupuis' love was cowardly & hesitant.
But...
(As quoted above)
"...since no one can ever give the exact measure of his needs, nor of his conceptions, nor of his sorrows, and human speech is like a cracked kettle on which we hammer out tunes to make bears dance when we long to move the stars. "

Re: LOVE LOVE LOVE !
I do not like Madame Bovary, but I like the way the characters are described, especially Rodolphe.
There is a description of his heart that it was destroyed like a playground from too many footprints and that he was cold like a rock.
This is why he cannot love Emma or another woman, they are all the same to him, just toys for amusement and he had way too many..
I wanted to quote this, but actually I can't find it.

Re: LOVE LOVE LOVE !
Rodolphe's feelings were never ever about love. Just a shallow hedonist.
Leon was too cowardly.
Yes Flaubert's characterizations are brilliant.
....
LOVE
Real, strong, balanced love. Like Oliver Mellors & Connie Chatterley.
I make this comparison only because it was another controversial book about adulterous love by a married woman. Just contrastingly more romantic.

“It's just love," she said cheerfully.
"Whatever that may be," he replied.”
― D.H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley's Lover
Yeah it was controversial at its own time, and very few good ones have come after that. Strong, compact, little book about adulterous love is Annie Ernaux "passion simple" or is it "simple passion" in english.

Re: LOVE LOVE LOVE !
It seems limited to love that stems out of lust at first sight. Rustic and wholesome, and resisted initially because of societal class differences.
Not a prime example of love. Just compared it to Madame Bovary due to similar circumstances. Except Mellors wasn't a coward.
...
Anyway, some more:

Anyway, some more:
"Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control."

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That’s what I hope to give you forever." - The Notebook

However, one cannot completely give and receive love from another, until one truly loves her/himself. Then there would be no cowards.

Hahaha, giggle, I was at Dr. Love's page and here is the calculation for George Clooney and me:
George Clooney loves XXX
85 %
CoolTests.com
Dr. Love thinks that a relationship between George Clooney and XXX has a very good chance of being successful, but this doesn't mean that you don't have to work on the relationship. Remember that every relationship needs spending time together, talking with each other etc.
