Interesting theories and comments this mornng. In reading it's pretty clear that this evening was a 'campaign for Sudan' and I agree she would have gotten in the way. Her primary purpose for him is arm candy and not part of serious conversation. He spent a lot of time schmoozing local and national politicians in an attempt to keep his passion for Sudan alive. Commendable. And not a place for arm candy.

It just doesn't add up that she neglected to accompany him at the last minute and his excuse was she was working. And if you can believe tweets she was excited selecting her dresses for the occasion. IMO

Stacy Keibler was supposed to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with George Clooney. She tweeted about it a couple of weeks ago. But George was alone when he flew to DC the other day. And alone again at the event and various parties. Is it the beginning of the end? Probably not. George told everyone Stacy was working. Which may explain the pre-emptive outing on Thursday night. Click here if you missed those photos.

Still, it certainly didn’t seem like George was missing her terribly. As you can see, when the real President isn’t around, George is the centre of universe, the main attraction at the Vanity Fair after party where he was the star everyone else appeared to orbit, celebrity and politician alike. I’ve included only a few - there are so many shots of him talking, laughing, shaking hands and kissing babies, but I couldn’t afford them all, sorry.

As I learned at TIFF - click here if you missed it - when George Clooney is having a good time at a party, he puts in his time at that party. He stayed late at Vanity Fair. I mean, that’s why you make the no kids, no ties choice in life right?

Exactly, Cindigirl, if he wanted to talk Sudan all they had to do was say Stacy wouldn't be coming in the first place. Then he could have gone alone and nothing would have been said. But, to accept and not show even if she had to work looks and sounds odd. She could have said on twitter days ago I'm not gonna make it Saturday gotta work.

kat2030 wrote:She was suppoed to attend the Whitehouse dinner with the Obamas (right after he was arrested) and the same exact thing happened. No apologies or anything.
She all of a sudden was a no-show and announced on her tweet she had a last minute modeling job or something to do. It didnt add up though, the dates.
Also found it strange right after he was arrested, they asked who he made his one phone call to in jail and he said his MOTHER?? Shouldnt it be your significant other?I think these two are contantly fighting and breaking up and he has a hard time calling it quits in their face so he pisses them off enough to do it for him. Just a thought..

First, welcome kat. As annemarie said there was never anything said about her attending WH Dinner. The dinner was before George was arrested, not after.
I don't think may models get last minute modeling jobs on the other side of the world, maybe at home.

George was invited to the WHCD and Stacy was his plus one. If she had to work on Saturday, and it was her first day of the new project and a long day, I would imagine that it was a tiring day and why would she endure a 5 hr. flight to DC for another long night of partying. It wasn't her gig, it was George's.

She has a job within her desired profession - she is in a world where there are always a thousand young girls ready to jump into her spot. She made her decision based on what it right for her at this time, and a party isn't that important.

We all say that her time with George is limited, and I for one applaud her for looking after her own interests. If she got this gig because of her association with George, then she'd damn well better act on it fast and get some momentum into her career. JMHO folks

A twitter comment along the lines of "work before fun, get your priorities straight," would have been cryptic but appropriate for SK's fan base. Definitely would have made her sound more intelligent and caring.

IF you are escorting or dating or in any way involved with a successful man, and you accompany him to special events associated with his career or causes, you must either act like you're have an equally great time or you shouldn't be with him. I know that I really enjoyed being "arm candy" many, many times. Sometimes I was quietly observing, other times I contributed to the conversation. Either way I learned a tremendous amount just by listening. As an actress SK must play different roles.

From Celebitchy this morning

Apr 30
'12George Clooney flew solo in DC, had a great time: is Stacy Keibler on the way out?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I mentioned this yesterday, in the post about the White House Correspondents Dinner, but it probably deserved its own post, so here you go. After tweeting about fittings and workouts in preparation for the dinner, Stacy Keibler was a no-show. George Clooney went to DC without his girlfriend, allegedly because Stacy had gotten a job. And she had to work on a Saturday night? Hmm…

Actor George Clooney attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night without his girlfriend. Where was Stacy Keibler? The actress was expected to attend, having tweeted about getting fitted for her dress.

“She couldn’t make it. She’s working,” Clooney told POLITICO, explaining that Keibler just landed a pilot for a television show. (Indeed, she tweeted Friday about landing a role on the forthcoming TBS sitcom “Men at Work.”)

The actor, sipping on red wine, was seated at the very front of the Washington Hilton’s ballroom at the TIME table along with Steven Spielberg.

Asked if he was bummed about not sitting next to Michelle Obama again, Clooney looked up at the first lady — who was chatting with comedian Jimmy Kimmel — and remarked, “She’s got a pretty nice date.”

[From Politico]

Clooney spoke to several outlets while he was in Washington, joking about his ER buddy Noah Wyle being arrested (Clooney said he called Wyle and offered bail money), and talking politics with the Washington Post, saying: “Because I’m an old Democrat, I kind of try to stay out of the Republicans’ primary and let them do their thing. Then during the general election, you have a conversation about it. That seems to be the fair thing to do.” Clooney was also spotted partying with friends at the post-dinner Vanity Fair party. Page Six’s source notes, “It was jam-packed, and Clooney was one of the last to leave.”

So, basically, Clooney was reminding us that he can still have a good time without his official girlfriend with him. Which makes me wonder… is Stacy on the way out? Stacy and George were spotted together last Thursday, out to dinner with Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. I thought their body language looked comfortable, and I predicted that Stacy would be around for a little while longer. But I may need to get a second opinion. George and Stacy are coming up on their year anniversary as a couple… when? Maybe late July, early August. He hired her (whatever, he totally hired her) late last summer, before the Toronto Film Festival. So… will Stacy make it a year?

You are right... most of the talking on the lines we did, happened just here... but it feels like a different line of thinking outside... annemarie wrote:Party animal I think you would have to be very secure not only in your relationship but in yourself to be with George. The thing is she didn't have to accept if she didn't like political party's but she did and was excited about the dress.

My theory is simple Stacey worked on Saturday, but she was due to get on a plane and join George. Sometime between Friday and Saturday they had a bust up she didn't go. Maybe George knew she wasn't coming maybe he waited and she didn't show. Now George has to go, but doesn't want to have to answer where Stacey is so he being elusive as ever gets into the party but Politco ask and he has to say she had to work which is true. The guests aren't gonna ask that would be rude.

Now on Sunday they makeup, maybe he sent her 1,000 roses and a enima whatever it works. She goes on twitter and says she had to work late. Just Jared the night before never mentioned George or Stacey they mentioned everyone being there but them.
Stacey seems good at talking to people there were more than enough people for Stacey to talk to .

Which makes me think George didn't talk to Stan about this he handled it and we see the results. Stacey tweeting would have avoided the new breakup rumors and end of contract talk. This is just my
theory I like Miss Marple and Mysteries.

Very sweet Annemarie... romance should never lose age, come what may Very Happy as also the sense of mystery Na Na Na!!! HAHAHAHAHA...

Yes, we were ALL discussing them theories here... as we always do anyways Shocked

So in effect... a sad understanding mis-hap between what Stan thinks, Stacy's PR thinks and what George thinks!!!??!!! HOT HOT HOT Very Happy
*** Stacy's PR wants Stacy to continue, obviously!!
*** George's PR has 2 portions??? One that wants Stacy ON and the other that does not??? Well God knows how many more portions there are in his team... the undecided, the ... Whoa!!! Idea
*** And so the portions that support Stacy's "business / PR tactics" had a problem with that portion that had already worked on the break up???

Hmmm... That was outside their relationship part ofcourse... George and Stacy are in a "relationship" as it has been proclaimed in the media so far...

So now... the next puzzle awaits??? Na... the next maze for his birthday puzzle awaits BHIM BHAM!!! HAHAHAHAHA And by then ofcourse everyone will know just how the President's Dinner will roll I love you

Oh George - The Man, just what has become of you??? Really!!! Question

Stacy No Show for White House Correspondents Dinner - Page 4 Empty Re: Stacy No Show for White House Correspondents Dinner

Post by OofOof Mon 30 Apr 2012, 19:12

Sadly I think this is going to be my last post when I've only posted twice before. I joined this site because I have been a George Clooney fan since Sisters. Didn't really follow his private life until his last year with Canalis and wish I'd kept it at simply going to his movies. Frankly, the more I read and see of him and his relationships--if they can even be called that--the less I like him! Frankly, I've come to the conclusion that he's a rather vapid, egotistical and immature man who cares mostly about image and appearance. During the Oscar PR blitz, I remember reading one of the many pieces you all copied to this site. In the article he was lamenting the lack of roles for women and particularly women above 40. I believe he said he would no longer play roles with 20 or 30 something actresses in light of his age. Please! He doesn't think it's age appropriate to act with young girls but seems unable to date anyone above the age of 32? He's a hypocrite!

As far as the PR contract BS that apparently follows him with whatever girl he hooks up with, its ridiculous! While I don't doubt every girl he's found himself with over the past 15 years have signed a non disclosure agreement, the idea that his publicist would choose the women he ends up with would be funny if it weren't so sad! His picks are a publicists worst nightmare! And, as his fan base is presumably women from 40-? His choices do nothing to please this demographic. I actually have to give him credit for not basing his choices on pleasing his fans.

The thing is...the more I've read here, taking in all his past relationships etc. on your Girls section, the more I started seeing how limited he seems to be emotionally. He seems to have stopped growing as a person at about he age of 15 or maybe 20? The pics of him with some of those young 20 something one night stand girls show a guy totally bombed on vodka or tequila, basically leering at whatever girl he's with.

What I've gotten from reading here is that this is a guy desperate to be respected for his work but who doesn't seem to carry that integrity through to his private life, which I know is common to us all. I just think in his case, it's a major disconnect! I also think he loves attention, again, not unusual for someone in his field. But, I really think it's a shame that his hookups end up over shadowing a good movie, like The Descendants. That is one of his best films to date but most of the PR centered around his date on the red carpet and whether or not they were a real couple.

I guess what his PR campaign succeeded in doing for me is making him look like a big fake. I think Katie seems to have the most realistic view of him and I think she's right in suggesting his girl du jour is not the only famewhore in his "relationships.".

Finally, I think what saddens me most about George Clooney is that all he's doing by dating the girls he dates is making himself look old and almost feeble. The pics he takes with friends or family are wonderful. He looks ridiculous with Stacy not because she towers over him--I have a friend whose husband is a good 9 inches shorter and they fit together--but because frankly, she's too young for him physically and emotionally (well maybe not emotionally). She looks like his niece. Frankly, that's another reason I don't think his picks in women are PR stunts. If they are, they're backfiring because they diminish his image.

Anyway, I'm sorry to go on for hours! I've enjoyed you all immensely and may continue to come here just to get my Katie, Cindi, watching, Mel fix (-: but I think I'm going to go back to not delving to deeply into GC's private life. I'm afraid I don't like him very much!

I think there is plenty of good, worth while information about
The Descendants on this forum, really interesting interviews,
good Q & A sessions, regarding the film,
which I agree is one of his best.

I've usually taken the negative talk about his relationship with SK with a pinch of salt and lets face it, the gossip sites & mags are just spouting hot air most of the time, in order to make money,
by speculating about George's private life.

It hasn't changed my opinion of him at all.

Mizerello,
Welcome and I would be sorry to see you leave but I think you would like the "non-Girls" threads better. Paps survive with risque pics, stories of "stars gone wild," ridiculous tales of how the famous waste their money etc. By comparison the mainstream Las Vegas paper ran articles on how miserable those who won the national lottery became, days after tales of the many who drove miles and waited in line for hours to buy lottery tickets. Please don't blame G and his PR of following traditional ways of catering to the silly rags.

Never forget seeing an Italian pap pic of him rubbing La Canalis' feet cos she'd got stupid heels on! Thought then how he much adores women.

His choices are interesting and the world is his oyster!

Interesting that SK is now getting stick for not being the plus-one and working instead. Sounds like him to me.........

When it comes to the age difference with George that doesn't bother me . I am also married to a man 16 years older than I am age is just a number its the maturity level that really matters. I have a problem with Hugh Hefner that dude has issues. If George starts dating women younger than 27 I will then think he has lost his mind.

Mizerello welcome to COH and thanks for your honorable mention. I'm glad you enjoy my opinions, although many of them are wrong. I have a habit of looking at life through rose-colored glasses and what I see in George is his humanitarian side, not his sexual proclivities. He has so much goodness in him that if he seems happy in what he's doing then I'm happy.

That's exactly how I feel, as I've stated ad nauseam elsewhere on this forum. Wink Green thumbs to the ladies who bask in the positive glow! Give Flowers

mizerello, I can absolutely relate to you wanting to leave, and why. I too, have wondered what I'm doing here more than once. But the bottom line is that what you read in certain threads (the girl threads in particular) is only speculation, opinion and commentary written by people who don't know him any better than you do. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but some are more negative and *mean girlish* than others (and some are just plain nuts in my humble opinion) - and I wouldn't take any of it as the gospel of reality. Bless those souls who can make light hearted and grounded posts in such threads! lip smack I'm happier if I avoid those threads, although apparently I can't stop looking at a good train wreck....

I dunno... most everyone I enjoy being with drinks (and we are all G's age) so I guess I don't find it odd at all that George enjoys his cocktails. I don't find it immature and childish. It's not as though he's peeing in the courtyard fountain, or pulling the bartender's undies off. But hell, maybe my enjoyment of a good adult beverage makes me childish in some people's eyes as well, in which case I say *cheers!* Very Happy

Since he's not married, why shouldn't he enjoy the sexual company of young, beautiful women? He's George Clooney!! I also don't have a problem with the ages of his dates. They are adult women, not teenagers or some such thing. When I was 30, I certainly thought of myself as a grown woman who could make her own life decisions, and would have been insulted if anyone thought otherwise.

Anyhoo, I guess it saddens me that what certain fans think of George's lifestyle has influenced your opinion of him - and not in a good way. Thank you for your post though. Even though I'm disheartened by some of it, I utterly understand the motivation for writing it; and why.

ciao girls; i say my opinion;i will not believe to the story of the great JOB for stacey unless i see pictures of her dressed for the main role in the not probable remake of titanic or gone wth the wind; if she had got a big role in a big production she would have twitted one of her twits, she would have said to the entire world what was her luck;the fact that she did not do it, imo is just because what happened is just that her presence in the par,ty at the table with spielberg e c would not have been the best thing to do for her and for him;she is not at the same level as those persons and that could be embarassing for both;may be they arrived to that only few days before the dinner and it was probably a difficult decision to take;even if she had something to do i cannot think that it was so important that they could not postpone it on monday;also,as somebody said ,the fact that she would be there, could only be a good pr for her work,it could be a plus;but the evidence is that in fact it was not a plus, for some reason,or because she is not a A personality like the people who were sitting at that table or because they had some trouble between them so she would have had the same face that she had going out from the"last supper" with cindy rande

Why would it have been embarassing how so? Stacy seems pleasant and she has something in common with them she is an actress maybe not award winning but she is in the business. I would think that the person who chose the seating set it up so that they would have a diverse group at each table Kate Capshaw was at the table she is an actress and I believe Holly Peete who is also an actress.
I do think that they had a fight and she didn't go though.

Doris Day,
if Kim Khardashian and Lindsay Logan were there certainly Stacey would not have had any problems, she is definitely on a higher level than them; however, I agree with you that something happened between George and Stacey...and sooner or later we will know!!

I said in a earlier post I believe they had a fight she was supposed to join George when she finished work . But they had some kind of fight she didn't go . When he went to the party he had to say something she was working and couldn't make it. He wasn't about to say they had a fight and she didn't get on the plane. I too think the work was a half truth. That's my theory any way.

Astras and everyone: Thank you all for commenting on my way too long missive! I did want to state for the record, when I suggested he seemed to hook up with the "one night stand cocktail waitress 20 somethings" after a night of drinking, I wasn't suggesting drinking alcohol was bad. My nickname is "Lemon Drop" and not because I like the color yellow! However...I do know when I've reached my limit and I wonder, solely based on those photos you've all collected in the Girls section, if he knows his limit. The pics of him with those girls, and let's face it ladies, they're nothing but girls, are telling. Yeah, they're 20 somethings and when I was 20 something I would have creamed someone like me for suggesting I wasn't an adult, but really? Even Stacy appears very emotionally stunted for her age, based on the few times I've heard her speak. Anyway, my feeling when looking at all those pics in the Girls section is one of "ewwwww." He just looks like a guy on the make--the kind of guy my friends and I tend to avoid when we go out.

As far as commenting on the fact that he seems to have determined he shouldn't date anyone over the age of 33, I too have friends who married or have long term relationships with men much older. The friends who have those relationships were pretty mature for their age when they got together with their husbands. My take on George Clooney's picks is that he purposefully seems to pick women who are very immature, even for their age. He seems to want women he can control and will be at his beck and call.

I guess I'm just disappointed in someone who is probably a really great guy--if you're a guy--and not so great if you're a woman who expects anything out of him other than a good fuck and maybe some great jewelry and a vintage Hermes purse! Which, now that I've written that...doesn't sound half bad! (-:

lol no it doesn't sound too bad . These women all know what they are going to get with George bask in his fame, live the famous life be accorded the privileges of being the girlfriend of George Clooney. They also know he is not in it for forever , at least he is honest about it he won't marry any of them and his job and humanitarian work come first.

Doris ,I think that Stacy is smart enough like us all if we have nothing to add to a conversation we listen. I'm sure there were other women at the table she could have talked too. George isn't serious all the time I'm sure they discussed other things besides Sudan.

I dunno... most everyone I enjoy being with drinks (and we are all G's age) so I guess I don't find it odd at all that George enjoys his cocktails.

Astras, I also am George"s age and I also have enjoyed riding a young stallion or two.... bounce I have broken a few Stallions in my time, yes they keep calling but my time is limited bounce Although on a intellectual level and life experience level I prefer a man my own age..

Now,,, Drinking which is one of my favorite subjects!! My family and friends have spent alot of time perfecting the cocktail...We actually perfected the drinking and driving thing too..You know in our day that wasn't a subject, now we have to get our kids to drive us so we can drink...What's worse is they are talking about changing the legal driving age from 16 to 18 oh come on give us boozers a break!!!!

mizerello, I can absolutely relate to you wanting to leave, and why.

Oh Astras, you are the eternal optimist and methinks, a hopeless romantic and I love you all the more for it. You remind me of all that is good and sweet in the world and therefore help to balance me when cynicism threatens to completely cloud my world.
There more than a few women on COH I'd like to meet and you're one of them. I hope our paths cross someday (cause the fact is, Ilike to drink, too!) lol!

Yep, just confirmed that Men at Work films in front of a live studio audience on Fridays.

Next film dates are as follows (and when I refer to dates, one show is filmed live on each Friday as is the industry standard for sitcoms):

Men At Work ★ 5/4/12 ★ 5/11/12 ★ 5/25/12 ★ 6/1/12 ★ 6/8/12 ★ 6/15/12 ★ 6/22/12

Yes, Playfuldeb - that was my point in a previous post - that filming shows like that, sitcoms, are filmed in front of a live audience, so they're not going to be filming into the nite, or into the next day. Years ago I went out to LA and attended a live show - very cool, but it only lasted about a couple of hours. It's like a play; the actors know their lines, and in between, they change out the sets. She could've easily made it, if George wanted her there, they've taken private jets before, one could've easily been on standby for her.

I also don't think she wasn't there because he was campaigning for Sudan and it was over her head. She could have stood there, like she's done in the past, bobbed her head and smiled. And she's also been reported to be able to strike up a conversation with people in a room - Kim and Lindsey were there, they could have had a wonderful conversation!! geek

Don't know what happened, don't really care. I just find it bizarre that for two people who supposedly want to protect they're precious "private life" that they manage to cause such a commotion in the tabs because they don't keep their lives private! Cray's gonna tweet about events, then not tweet when it doesn't suit her. You can't call up the Devil, and then ask him to behave... Twisted Evil
