Hair looks like GG's. This dress does not fit her very well, not flattering at all it makes her look bottom heavy. The color makes her look washed out. Stacy should stick with color.

I think this is one her her worst looks. hair is a mess and the dress looks like something a vegas madam would wear. Also since George is wearing a blue tux she probably shouldn't have worn black. JMHO.

I actually like the dress, except for that fur embellishment at the top. The hair I just can't deal with. I'm not sure why she doesn't just pick an up style or a down style, rather than this in-between mess. She looks very nice when she wears her hair down, it softens he face.

The hair looks like Einstein did it. She really seems to be very confused about what suits her and her age she shouldn't be. The dress is too old for her and for some reason makes her look big. That red dress made her look so much slimmer and black is supposed to be a flattering colour. It doesn't go with George and looks an awful lot like the other black dress she wore in NY except the lace goes all the way down. No one seemed impress I don't even think Guiliana gushed over her. Don't think she will make any best dressed list maybe most boring. Did like the earrings and thought a bracelet might give it some more pizzaz. One good thing about her hair I didn't notice her makeup at all I couldn't believe she thought it looked good.

Hate to say this I think Lainey's tweet may be right. SK, or G's personal life could be part of the reason he is falling out of favor for the awards. Maybe the people who vote are sick of the show.

At this SAG award show a lot of people showed up solo. Even some married actors didn't have their significant other with them. Stacy was front and center, a lot more than most. I think she drags him down makes him seem light weight. These are business functions and they need to be about business, not her.

Great points madsky Smile I gather that as a re-iteration / your thought also reflects some thoughts I noticed elsewhere on blogs... WOW Smile Although I do wonder if this was more about Jean's performance taking over George's popularity --- on a subliminal level... scratch Voters using their Hollywood Rules Book updated version I mean Very Happy [not a dig on your comment Vi... oooopsie la... just using a pointer in ref... Smile]

Again... just thinking out loud people... because I really don't understand some things the way I see them... anyways... Smile

I did notice Stacy's tweet pictures... with Sofia, Octavia... which could also mean that she seems keen on working up her "outreach" Very Happy (OUCH!!!) So, IF Stacy is the one "dragging George down" by association, or IF she is the "reason for him falling out of favour" (say from Lainey's comments)... then would that REALLY HELP Stacy in the long run any way??? Especially as she plans on rejuvenating her career in Hollywood??? Elisabetta (inany case with the "Italy option") NO LONGER figures on that path... know what I mean...??

So ideally speaking... any FURTHER "going down for George"... would reflect a not-so-good/worst SCENARIO for Stacy in Hollywood??? OR may be all of that is already worked out??? Very Happy Oh well...

Hopefully George will win the Oscar but there are a lot of very good contenders. If he loses it's because the voters felt there was a better actor, not because of who he dates.

Maybe it's a price he feels worth paying? If he even considers that there is a price - I'd assume he's happy with his life the way it is. His fans may not agree because we wouldn't be happy living the way he does but he's fine with it.

"Stacy Keibler
If only I were gay ... Me and Sofia Vergara of Modern Family tonight Screen Actors Guild Awards."

From her FB page, a pic with her an Sofia.....you can imagine the comments she's getting.....

The awards are voted on by any SAG member that wants to vote, meaning George's peers. While people should be unbiased when they vote, I do believe that the way people conduct themselves in their personal lives does have an affect on how others feel about them, or regard their work, right or wrong.

The best thing about Cray last nite - she kept her mouth shut during most of the interviews.

The worst - everything else; the dress, the hair - get a bottle of bleach for god's sake - her amazonian stance next to everybody. And whenever I seem them together now, I'm just loosing interest in him - as an actor and most definitely as a man; I feel like he's the joke now.

Sorry for the snark. Time for me to take a break, and maybe lurk for awhile.....

IMO the people who vote for the Oscars are living lives similar to George, they have some of the same experiences with mis- perceptions from fans due to tabloids etc. They are also professionals, so who he is dating, the girl of the season doesn't have anything to do with it.

I have no doubt that Stacy is a stupid woman, it makes me think this? His tweets, his photos with the invitation, his followers so vulgar. I find that she has improved with makeup and clothes but if a woman is born stupid hard to improve. Why she's good for George? Why did George not seeking a woman (I mean a woman who loves him, with character and personality, a woman to love, with whom to share joys and pains), he seeks a person who accompanies him on the red carpet, giving a woman whose fame (does not need to make an effort!), a woman to take on holiday and have it ready in bed if he wants sex. So a woman who did not break his balls. I have friends like him and I'm sure people are not happy, satisfied at work, but often just selfish!

'12George Clooney reins in Stacy Keibler at the SAGs: improved or busted?

It seemed like George Clooney and Stacy Keibler were much more subdued at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night, especially compared to how they behaved at the Golden Globes. Last night, George didn’t let Stacy speak that much, thank God, and she didn’t get to do hardly any solo posing. Stacy has been put back on the leash after she overextended herself at the Globes. I wonder if George blames Stacy for his best Actor loss last night? I bet he does, to a certain extent. That being said, Clooney didn’t seem to be as aggressive in his Oscar campaign as he did at the Globes, either. He seemed subdued, almost tired. Maybe his back is bothering him? I don’t know. I liked his interview with Guiliana Rancic – he was really sweet to her, and he made a joke about dropping trou and “getting his trou up” which actually made me laugh.

As for Stacy, she seemed content in her reined-in role. She wore this subdued Marchesa gown that I didn’t really care for – too lacy, too “old Italian widow” for my tastes, although I appreciate that Stacy is going for a more demure look. She’s actively trying to look older, more conservative, more Oscar-voter-friendly. It also helps because George looks less like he’s escorting his daughter to an awards show… except it still looks like this. Stacy just looks like his young niece. Ol’ Uncle George is sexually over-extended… but will that end up appealing to Oscar voters, many of them older white dudes who long to trade in their older models for a younger version like Stacy?

Also: I hated Stacy’s fly-away hair. Her hair issues are well-documented, and I really hope she goes for a simple up-do for the Oscars.

I don't blame Stacy for the SAG loss, but I am wondering if his choice to parade the "celebrity showmance" hurts his chances. A lot of columns and even a film critic, are making fun of the "Stacy-George" show thinking it is for cheap publicity. I think this hurts his buzz and brand, and makes him seem superficial. Which is never good when you are trying to win what they consider a prestigious award.

Look at who won at SAG. The Help won for acting, a cast of mostly women. Professional women would seem like a group annoyed by the Stacy-George show. Stacy is getting press and money (appearance fee increase) for showing up with George, and the young woman older man angle doesn't help. It is one thing if it seems like love, but who is seeing that. The campaigning for the Help in these awards probably hurt George as that voting group, may not have been all that enthralled with his attempt to woo them.

Also, I lost my illusion that they vote for the best a while ago when I worked with Emmy nominations, which is primarily done the same way. The whole process is a lot different than you think, and a lot of people don't even see the performances.

I can't blame Stacy for his loss as he is the one that has chosen her as his arm candy for these awards. I do feel that she is negatively impacting his image and this does affect his chances of winning. He needs to be taken seriously as an actor and instead all the press is about Stacy, her wrestling past and her current inability to stop acting like a teenager does not help this.

I have seen most of the performances, missed a Better Life though. I don't think Dujardin was better. I think George's character and performance was more subtle with a relatable character. But if they were looking for a performance that was more transforming and obvious, the winner should have been DiCaprio. An amazing performance, and he has done this a lot. Brings me back to my idea that the "celebrity brand" is hurting their chances. DiCaprio is living George's lifestyle just 15 years younger.

Michael Fassbender wasn't nominated for either a SAG or an Oscar. Should have been, along with Ryan Gossling. They are too new and sexy right now, especially for the Academy voters.

yeah me too, I find it hard to believe she'd loose him an award. Besides a few of these actors know and work with Clooney personnally / I don't think they'd be that subject to poster's comment over the internet or in gossips columns (which is where the bad comments mainly come from I thought)...

Funny thing on your comparaison Clooney/Dujardin because a host from a french critics mag (named Télérama) commented that Clooney could probably play the part from the artist, though Dujardin might not be the guy to play Clooney's part in the Descendants, so Clooney deserved the Oscar.
I though exactly the name thing when I saw the Artist (which I liked, but not love) since it's silent and George's got such an expressive face/good gestures and comic timing... he could very easily be it
BTW : Dujardin, he won at Cannes - so he's not exactly a surprise. It's the kind of performances that actors love : a bit dary, a bit classical, a bit funny, a bit dramatic and a real show for any actor so of course he's winning a few things... still I'll go for Clooney ; )

Stacy Keibler Talks George Clooney Relationship, Meeting Meryl Streep

Arm in arm with girlfriend Stacy Keibler, George Clooney and his leggy blonde walked the red carpet at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards. But I caught up with the former WWE wrestler on the set of "New York Live" just days before the big night to dish about her beau and how she constructs her flawless red carpet looks.

"It was really fun for me picking a dress that's comfortable, and easy was the key," Keibler tells me. "And then just figuring it out, what are we going to do with this now? How am I going to do my hair? It's just fun just being a girl."

Although Keibler seems right at home on the red carpet, she did admit that meeting Meryl Streep was "pretty cool" and left her speechless.

"Everyone has been so incredibly nice to me," Keibler beamed. "I have always tried to stay as private as I can be and George is a very private person and so, yes, it is hard to try and retain some sort of normalcy and privacy at times."

But there is one thing that Keibler wants to clear up when it comes to Clooney's supposed affinity for taller women.

"Actually George is a little bit taller than I am, but when I put my heels on I am taller," said Keibler, adding, "he loves it -- he doesn't mind one bit."

From Lainey Gossip today
Suddenly not the favourite: George & Stacy at the SAG Awards

As you know, as you’ve seen, George Clooney has been working it HARD the last 6 weeks or so for his Best Actor Oscar. Up to last night, he was winning everywhere. He won so much he’d accept his awards like monologues, prepared speeches about his parents toiling in the grain fields and appreciating his opportunities, not unlike the way a political candidate talks about this and that constituent during a rally in a barn somewhere in the Midwest.

Maybe the Screen Actors Guild wasn’t feeling it as much as he thought.

But this is a surprise, non? They’re supposed to all be his friends. Then again, they’re supposed to be Brad’s friends too.

Suddenly the field is looking a lot more wide open. If I’m Gary Oldman, as predicted by Sarah well before anyone else, I’m feeling very encouraged today. Obviously Jean DuJardin too. In fact, DuJardin’s win feels a lot like Marion Cotillard’s a few years ago. Still, in that race there were really only two viable horses: Marion and Julie Christie. This time around, George is fending off contenders on several fronts.

But how badly does George Clooney want it? George Clooney allowed himself to be leied on television. And talked about how, at 50, the challenge is not dropping trou, the challenge is the rising of it. Really? Did we just do that? It wasn’t as bad as Playboyus Maximus but goddamn Clooney, the stank of his desperation is now being sold at Dillard’s, this is what he’s become. And now that it’s become a race, too, what can we expect over the next three weeks?

Do you re-strategise re: Stacy and bring out his folks - which is what he really should have been doing all along - instead? Or does he go for the ace card and start hinting at marriage and babies? How does a potential Clooney wedding and baby stack up against a potential Brange wedding and 7th baby?

Check them out, all four, last night, posing together, dispelling rumours that Angie hates Stacy... ish. Someone looks a lot more eager and, well, it’s definitely not the Jolie.

LOL, that exactly what some of us said on Part 4 thread when topic/quotes first came out. Of course Cray is going to cover her arse! Let's see what George has to say on Extra. Won't be surprised if he just says the same thing.

Yes, in the VERY beginning, Team Cray leaked a gossip article that Cray is taking both Italian language and Italian cooking. Too d*mn funny!

I hope that was just CS. Team George knows by now that is not a good idea! IMHO, I don't think the People "diary" of getting ready for GG went over well. I think that was too over the top even for other actors.

Really not trying to be mean - she doesn't "look" bottom heavy she IS bottom heavy. Don't you remember some of our comments in some of her other gowns. I think its because she's muscular. Same reason for the tummy pouch. IMHO! The GG gown had a different cut, so not so noticeable.

Thank you for having the courage to talk about the gown. Great description - Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke. With the long train I was thinking of a black wedding dress, she just forgot her veil. IMHO, hair was worse than GG. Look at her twitter pics so far today. By the end of the night, hair looked even worse.

Okay, I'll apologize up front for the length of this post, but you all have been busy today and I have to catch up... Very Happy

First, I think it's possible that his relationship with Stacy factored into his loss last night. Yes, he won the at the Golden Globes and the Critic's Choice awards with her on his arm. However, those awards are voted on by entertainment journalists and film critics, two groups who fawn over George, especially recently. The SAG award is voted on only by actors who are members of that union, the vast majority of whom do not work enough or make enough money to survive solely on acting alone. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that many of those people feel some resentment that, while they have been toiling away on crappy jobs for five, ten, fifteen years, George's tart of the month gets signed to one of the biggest agencies in town, which means more opportunities. And the last one was handed a recurring role on a fairly successful television series. And while George is certainly not the only person in Hollywood pulling strings for someone, it may have been too tempting to have the opportunity to exact revenge for what some may see as unfairness.

Secondly, do you remember last year or the year before, George was going on in interviews about the financial struggles of elderly retired actors? And how he was trying to set up a situation where those in the union who make more money (like him and Brad and Angie, etc) should pay higher dues or make some sort of contribution to make sure these people were taken care of. I read not long ago that he never really followed through with that, or at least that's the perception of some people involved, regardless of what actually happened. So, maybe there's some anger related to that situation as well.

Third,

Keibler beamed. "I have always tried to stay as private as I can be and George is a very private person and so, yes, it is hard to try and retain some sort of normalcy and privacy at times."

Give the girl a break already. She just trying to have a normal relationship, in which she tweets, facebooks and interviews about their vacation plans, where they are or where they are going at any given moment, even though everyone already knows where they are and where they are going (ie: "here's me in the back of a car holding a ticket to the event I'm going to, just so you don't think I got my hair did for a trip to McDonald's!"). Why can't people just respect their privacy, especially those pesky paparazzi who constantly show up at the exact hour and location she told them to? (Middle of the Pacific ocean on the one day everyone is on jet skis? Check.) It's so hard being Stacy.

Finally, I have to share a couple of comment from the celebitchy article:

Jule says:

Her attire is certainly getting better and extremely more conservative (I won’t comment on the hair which never seems to be right), but I think we saw her style at the first couple of red carpets. She’s being dressed to play a part right now and you have to feel sorry for someone who either wants a person (GC) or a thing (exposure for career advancement) so badly that they would change to the extent she has. I hope GC enjoys what he has left of his time as the “mayor of Hollywood” because I think he has lost the respect of many from parading this one around all awards season.

I think this commenter has a point, and it is kind of sad when you think about it.

And just so I don't get accused of just picking on Stacy:

DT says:

Clooney is “that guy.” You know, the one who brings some stripper/this side of a hooker to your kid’s birthday party? The guy who attends a gathering of old friends in their fifties with some 22 year-old volley ball player he picked up in a bar the day before? That guy.

Yep, he is. Sigh.

YUP!!! Melbert, Sisieq... I guess your note above kind of summed it all up... (marked green)

I don't think this is about Stacy as a person at all... I've vouched for her niceness, her sweetness coming across... as much as also calling her out on the "fibbing"... That is "making something sound good"... "cheerleadering" when NOT necessary... (OK besides the fibbing ofcourse ;-))

BUT then, WHY should George be judged on her standard, has been my question... on the standard on the lady he has on his arm...???

You see... the answer also lies in the fact that Stacy took her job of "cheering on" George real seriously... and that drove some of the artists kind of mad... Not that Stacy was doing a bad job... but that it was NOT necessary!!! Not that Stacy is not a leggy blonde beauty... but her as George's arm candy made him look NOT necessary!!! OUCH-a-OUCH!!! Very Happy

And so the point... of those $25K was just the return value in pay-back cheques from tabloids and magazines??? Cutting right through George's aura, his standing, his art work... ??? Again, NOT saying that all that the tabloids said about them being hot, sweet, spicy wasn't good... just that... was that necessary??? Well... debatable I guess... Very Happy

Thanks for posting all the tweets. This one is very telling coming from a "regular" person! George skipped with SAG awards with EC, and as bad as she was pulling him down (IMHO) he's getting worse feedback from fans.

madsky wrote:Hate to say this I think Lainey's tweet may be right.

I agree to a point. IMHO, nothing wrong with bringing a date and even walking the red carpet. Its how the date is presented. My guess is still that People diary article being too over the top and her behavior at the GG red carpet. Does anyone remember the voting timeline for SAG. Was final voting due after the GG awards show?

Who would like to see the trailer of Dysfunctional Friends? It is being released on February 3, but only in New York and LA. Unfortunately, I don't know when it will be opening overseas, so those of you not in the U.S. might have to wait. Sorry, because this looks like a masterpiece of American film making. Sad

The BIG difference is that both SAG and Oscars are voted on by other actors (male and female). If I'm correct Best Actor for Oscars only other actors can vote in the category not the entire membership. Same with Best Writer and Best Director - only writers and directors can vote for their category. BTW, there IS alot of politics that goes into voting. If not, than why have so many been overlooked over the years by not winning or even being nominated.
