Re: BAFTA - The Descendants & The Ides of March nominated
So it's back to London in a few weeks. I do think George will win he is pretty popular. Should be good. Is Madonna's film nominated? Cause I know that got really bad reviews and she changed it a little.

Re: BAFTA - The Descendants & The Ides of March nominated
Looks like Madonna didn't get any noms good. Drive got a couple but none for Ryan. What is it about Bridesmaids? Like really how is grown woman taking a poo in a sink make her worthy of all this attention? I think Meryl will get it and George. My Week With Marilyn is up for a few awards too. And of course the Artist but so far it hasn't really done much for the actors it's been the director and the music and the movie as a whole. Not sure anyone will win against Scorcese for director. Love Danial Radcliffe hasn't he grown up he is a cutie. George and Brad will probably both go it's in the runup to the Oscars isn't it?

Miss Piggy is set to snout out all gossip when she interviews stars at this year's British Academy Film Awards at the Royal Opera House.
She is said to have already started practising her flirting skills as she prepares to meet a plethora of Hollywood stars when they descend on London's Covent Garden this Sunday.
Among those set to grace the awards include Best Actor nominees George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Gary Oldman and Jean Dujardin.
''Imagine the likes of Clooney, Dujardin, Fassbender, Oldman and Pitt achieving the very pinnacle of their careers by getting a chance to speak with the one and only moi – Miss Piggy!'' she said.
''Naturally, I will be asking questions that only moi would dare to ask.''

Well, from what I know about George... he'll be there! Especially since Ms. Piggy is already talking about asking him questions.

Re: BAFTA - The Descendants & The Ides of March nominated
Yes I hope you can all watch the BBC coverage across the pond.
No Cinders, I won't be going to London on Sunday. I'll enjoy watching it all on TV in comfort and taking pictures from the TV when it's over. I'll record it all and play back and pause at the crucial moments to get some pictures.
I do hope our man wins the BAFTA for his acting. He deserves it.
There's not a lot going on about it yet in the media, but hopefully there will be some news over the weekend.
I've been to the Royal Opera House twice to watch opera's in the past. It'a a wonderful auditorium, not huge, with amazing acoustics.
I sat "up in the gods", in the highest and cheapest seats and
Kiri te Kanawa's voice sounded wonderful from up there, much better than on her recordings.

Yes he's a very good interviewer....a Quality One !
He does both TV & radio for the BBC.
Thanks silly girl...I'll have a look for it
Later....
Can't find any info yet but it's most likely to be on the Andrew Marr hour show on Sunday morning on BBC 1, at 9am.
There's also an iPlayer link for the show for those who can access it.
That's where the show is repeated online.

Bafta Awards 2012: all eyes on The Artist
Stars from Michelle Williams to Brad Pitt will be in London this weekend, but a silent black and white film is the unanimous bookies' favourite for the big award at the Baftas.

As London gears up for the biggest night in the UK film calendar, The Artist, a silent film by French director Michel Hazanavicius is streets ahead in the race for the main award.
The film, which has already won a host of awards this year including three Grammys, sits happily at the top of the Bafta nominations list with 12 nods. It's the bookies' favourite with current odds of 1/6 (William Hill) for Best Picture.
British spy thriller Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy is the next in line (5/1),
followed by George Clooney's new family drama
The Descendents (7/1),
The Help (16/1) and the highest odds in that category are for Drive (20/1).
George Clooney is the bookies' favourite for Best Actor,
and Meryl Streep for Best Actress for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. Both veteran Hollywood stars are expected at the awards, which will take place at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
Also expected are best actress-nominee Michelle Williams, and Brad Pitt, nominated in the Best Actor category for Moneyball, who will attend with wife Angelina Jolie.

John Hurt and Martin Scorsese will both collect special Bafta awards: Hurt for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, and Scorsese will be presented with a Bafta Fellowship.
Starry celebrations begin Friday, as Harry Potter star Emma Watson hosts Lancome's pre-Bafta Party at the Savoy Hotel. Most of the designers, jewellers and make-up artists who will be styling the nominees will be staying in their best suites.
The Bafta Awards 2012 will be hosted by Stephen Fry, and Miss Piggy - dressed in Louis Vuitton - will be the official red carpet host.
This year, Bafta's president and royal patron Prince William is in the Falklands serving the RAF, and we can only speculate as to whether The Duchess of Cambridge will attend alone.
On Sunday the red carpet show begins at 7.30pm on BBC3, and the ceremony at 9.00pm on BBC1.

Re: BAFTA - The Descendants & The Ides of March nominated
In the US, BAFTA show will be shown on BBC America starting at 8:00 PM EST. Sunday. Don't know if that includes Red Carpet, but doubt it. The Grammys are also Sunday, and usual Red Carpet stuff is taken up by that. Don't know if we'll get to see Miss Piggy, etc. but maybe some of our UK buddies could get it for us. Please, please, please.
