HOW TO . . . de-activate your account (permanently)
Firstly, there's no real need to de-activate your account. If you're tired of George (gasp, no!) or just don't want to spend the time here then all you need do is not visit any more. No action required by you.
If for whatever reason you absolutely have to close your account on the forum then just let me know what your compelling reason is (by PM or by using the 'contact' button at the bottom of every page) and I can do it for you next time I'm online.
Just remember the following:
1. Closing your account here is permanent. You will not be allowed to re-join under a new user name and if I find you have done so, I'll ban you.
2. Your posts don't disappear even if your account is closed. They will be credited to your username name. There is no way of deleting them.

Updating this to add that if you want to change your username, then I can do that for you; there's absolutely no need to close your account and reopen a new one.
Secondly, if you do close your account your posts will still be on the forum after you go.
Finally: just a reminder that if you no longer want to participate here, then we'll all be sorry to see you go, but there's no need to close your acount. You can simply stop coming here.

Just a reminder to everyone. If you don't want to visit this site any more, then that's fine. We'll miss you but there's nothing else you need to do.
'Closing' your account doesn't change anything: all of your posts are still here with your name on. All you really achieve is to annoy the hell out me when you change your mind in six months and rejoin again.
