Just saw a video where a black cat (looks just like my cat) is soothing a baby to sleep. I thought it was cute and wanted to share.

Talking of cats

This not a true happening to me ! lol!

We were dressed and ready to go out for a Dinner & Theatre evening.
We turned on a 'night light', turned the answering machine on,
covered our pet budgie and put the cat in the backyard.

We phoned the local Taxi company and requested a taxi.
The taxi arrived and we opened the front door to leave the house.

As we walked out the door, the cat we had put out in the yard
scooted back into the house.
We didn't want the cat shut in the house because she always
tries to get at the budgie.

My wife walked on out to the taxi, while I went back inside to get the cat.
The cat ran upstairs, with me in hot pursuit.
Waiting in the cab, my wife didn't want the driver to know that the house will be empty for the night.
So, she explained to the taxi driver that I would be out soon.

"He's just going upstairs to say Goodbye to my mother."

A few minutes later, I got into the cab.

"Sorry I took so long," I said, as
we drove away.

"That stupid bitch was hiding under the bed.
I had to poke her arse with a coat hanger to get her to come out!

She tried to take off, so I grabbed her by the neck.
Then, I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her
from scratching me.

But it worked!
I hauled her fat arse downstairs and threw her out
into the back yard!

She'd better not s**t in the vegetable garden again!"

The silence in the Taxi was deafening. confused

Hey guys, as I'm not a twitterer, perhaps someone could answer questions I have. 1. What does # before a word signify? 2. Same for @? 2. Why are names repeated twice sometimes? 4. What designates who is "talking" and who is being "talked to"? I know these may seem like dumb questions, but when I look at some of sk's or ec's tweets, I get confused. Thanks in advance.

12 Days of Christmas
A boyfriend had several gifts delivered to his girlfriend Agnes:
December 14th: I went to the door today and a postman delivered a partridge in a pear tree - What a delightful gift. I couldn't have been more surprised - With deepest love and affection, Agnes

Well she got a new gift every day with two turtle doves, three French Hens, four calling birds, five golden rings, six geese a-laying, nine pipers playing, twelve fiddlers fiddling, eight maids a milkin.

On December 23rd her reply to him:
Hey Shithead:
What are you some kind of sadist?

Her December 24 reply:
Listen Fuckhead:
What's with the eleven lords-a-leaping on those maids and aforementioned "ladies"? Some of those broads will never walk again. Those pipers ran through the maids and have been committing sodomy with the cows. All 234 of the birds are dead. They have been tramped to death in the orgy. I hope you're satisfied, you rotten swine.

Dec. 25th - From the law offices Tacker, Spredar, and Baegar)
Dear Sir:
This is to acknowledge your latest gift of twelve fiddlers fidding, which you have seen fit to inflict on our client. The destruction of course was total. All correspondence should come to our attention. If you should attempt to reach Miss McCallister at Happy Dale Sanitarium, the attendents have instructions to shoot you on sight. With this letter, please find attached a warrant for your arrest.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

DOG FOR SALE

A man was driving around the backwoods of Montana, and saw a sign in front of a broken down shanty:

"Talking Dog For Sale."

He knocked on the door, and the owner appeared, telling him the dog is in the backyard.

The man walked into the backyard, and saw a nice-looking Labrador retriever sitting there.

"You talk?" he asked.

"Yep," the Lab replied.

After the man recovered from the shock of hearing a dog talk, he said "So, what's your story?"

The Lab looked up and said, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA.

"In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spiesand world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping."

"I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running.

"But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger, so I decided to settle down.

"I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies,.... and now I'm just retired."

The man was amazed. He returned to the owner, and asked what he wanted for the dog.

"Ten dollars," the owner replied.

"Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?"

"Because he's a liar. He's never been out of the yard."

Re: General Chitchat for December

Post by pattygirl on Sat Dec 24 2011, 00:19

Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember ..
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair.
'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
'Sure..'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
'No, I can remember it..'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?'
He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?' she asks.
Irritated, he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, The old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.. She stares at the plate for a moment.
'Where's my toast ?'

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great... I would recommend it very highly.'
The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?'
The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love?
You know.... The one that's red and has thorns.'
'Do you mean a rose?'
'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?'

Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital.
After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator.
On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.
'I don't know,' he said. 'She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown.'

A senior citizen said to his eighty-year old buddy:

'So I hear you're getting married?'
'Yep!'
'Do I know her?'
'Nope!'
'This woman, is she good looking?'
'Not really.'
'Is she a good cook?'
'Naw, she can't cook too well.'
'Does she have lots of money?'
'Nope! Poor as a church mouse.'
'Well, then, is she good in bed?'
'I don't know.'
'Why in the world do you want to marry her then?
'Because she can still drive.'

Three old guys are out walking.
First one says, 'Windy, isn't it?'
Second one says, 'No, it's Thursday!'
Third one says, 'So am I. Let's go get a beer..'
A man was telling his neighbor, 'I just bought a new hearing aid.
It cost me $4,000, but it's state of the art.. It's perfect.'
'Really,' answered the neighbor . 'What kind is it?'
'Twelve thirty..'

Morris , an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical.
A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.
A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said, 'You're really doing great, aren't you?'
Morris replied, 'Just doing what you said, Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.''
The doctor said, 'I didn't say that.. I said, 'You've got a heart murmur; be careful.'

One more. .
A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool... After catching his breath, he ordered a banana split.
The waitress asked kindly, 'Crushed nuts?'
'No,' he replied, 'Arthritis.'

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now, before you' forget ', send these on to your friends. :-)

Re: General Chitchat for December

Post by cindigirl on Tue Dec 27 2011, 15:58

Men Are Just Happier People

NICKNAMES
If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah. If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Bubba and WWWildman
EATING OUT
When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it's only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.
When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.
MONEY
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale.
BATHROOMS
A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel.
The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.
ARGUMENTS
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.
FUTURE
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
MARRIAGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does.
DRESSING UP
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.
A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.
NATURAL
Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.
Women somehow deteriorate during the night.
OFFSPRING
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.
A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!

SO, send this to the women who have a sense of humor and who can handle it .... and to the men who will enjoy reading it.

The single flame held by palms/hands, was about "waiting"... which is also the "waiting" for a re-birth during the special season of "Advent" (red and green wax) the time that that Avatar existed that is Very Happy It feels... sometimes, like that flame that George had at one time lit in many hearts, now stands in the danger of being put off... because of some dark portrayals surrounding it, the shadows of the past may be, fears and doubts may be... BUT, surely, some of those shades did not have to exist! Some, were even breaking through the redness, the love in the hearts of his dear fans... However, faith trusts in the existence of HIS flame inside George... that alone can break through all the darkness around... and keep his flame burning bright Smile

The next one was the Christmas Tableu... Very Happy and yes, it was Christmas then... ONLY, didn't wait for the feast of the 3Kings hahahahaa... The 3 bright flames were them, the 3 wise Kings from the East... as were the shepherds Very Happy and the little light at the corner the leading star over the hut... and in that darkness rested HIM, the greatest King of all... looked on adoringly by his parents, his Father holding the lamp while his Mother waited to care for his needs, both looking lovingly at their little baby, raised over some rack they put together... Smile The birth of new life, new hope, new direction does not have to be BIG BANG... it can happen quietly... but for as long as that can really come to BE! That was about hope for George... Smile His home I "feel" was/is as loving as that family that gave someone precious to the world... Smile

Well... about the current one... it is about the "cold season that we have found ourselves in" Very Happy... It is also about burning the old, which is perhaps the only way for the warmth of hope to enter into our being... and from it's rising flames is the birthing of HIS Spirit... HIS plans taking shape, crushing the darkness... darkness making itself into something NEW with the flames... the renewed zeal and enthusiasm... and NEW LIFE, the light... What else, with the NEW YEAR ahead!!! Very Happy... HIS SPIRIT should be soaring high in everything... Smile for George and for everyone Very Happy

As you would have also noticed... my basic instruments are pretty banal Very Happy BUT then, I am also a "wanderer"... Very Happy and cannot love it enough Very Happy There are many ways of interpretting each one... and I could bore you with them, if I have not done that already Very Happy hahahahhahhahaa

Thanks also Zizi, SadDonkey, Nnz, ... Hug1 hugs to all of you for writing in... Smile

Well... I am not too sure, about being on George's Boards (as I have been earlier) in 2012 Smile In any case, I go off as much, during Lent... Smile The truth is, that 2012 is a year of many "spiritual challenges"... It is going to be a year of great battle... of stupendous spiritual warfare... something that many have been preparing for, for a long loooong time Smile It will require every bit of energy and focus... Although the VICTOR is certain, the routing on the battlefield is strenuous... and one cannot rest believing in the VICTORY without adequately fighting/working for it... Smile

To explain it a little... Let us take the familliar... Sad Sudan... You see Bashir-ji is targetted as "war criminal" for the many physical deaths... OK, various attrocities included..., that led to those "mass graves"... In the spiritual realm too, there are many such "mass graves" of the soul... There are millions massacred every day, by forces that FEEL "right and reasonable" but so against what is "pleasing for HIM!" And that situation is most terribly bleak, haggard, festering... for the souls!!!

Wars in the spiritual realm involves sacrifices, mortification, penance, not just for one's own soul, but for so many more that cannot see / understand all that needs to be... 2012 is touted as THE END of the world... I believe NOT so much in the physical sense... BUT may be, in another... Either ways, it will be a great time of awakening in many realms... Very Happy

So... yes... I may or may not be all that "participative" on George's Boards, unless... there is a definite need Very Happy In any case, we already know that George and Stacy will most probably be on their happiness journey together Smile For as long as they are indeed truly happy, I shall always wish them the very best... so... yea... I might come by to share my hugs and kisses with all of you every once in a while though... Haaaaaa but then... did some one not say "what man proposes God disposes"... HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA... HE must be LOLling me already Very Happy

Oh yes... I shall change my Avatar for the New Year next Very Happy LOVE you all lots Smile

I'm finally back!!!! My computer chrashed last week on Monday, I had to have it repaired and finally it came back today.
Okay, the nice guy who did the repair called me on Saturday morning to tell me that he had fixed my computer and could bring it on the same day, but I don't want to ask people to work for me on Christmas eve, and I told him it would be enough if he brings my computer back after the holidays and here I am again.
