MAMI Film Festival (Mumbai) 13 - 20 Oct shows Ides of March
I'm beginning to wonder if there'll be any people left who haven't seen the films at a festival somewhere already!
From TheHindu
First Ahmedabad and then Mumbai. The best films of the season are coming to India, one whole month ahead of International Film Festival of India, Goa, which for long had been the festival that premiered the latest crop of films from around the world.
While Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI) is opening its festival (October 13-20) with the much-acclaimed Brad Pitt-starrer Moneyball and is boasting of bringing Lars Von Trier's Melancholia, Wim Wender's Pina and George Clooney's Ides of March, the younger International Film Festival of Ahmedabad (October 6-9) that focusses on independent films, is bringing the Sundance Audience award winner HappyThankYouMorePlease, written and directed by Josh Radnor, retrospectives of Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and Anurag Kashyap (including the formerly banned Paanch).

George Clooney film attracts maximum audience at MFF
Updated on Monday, October 17, 2011, 12:49
Hollywood actor-director George Clooney turned out to be the biggest crowd puller with his political thriller `Ides of March` at the ongoing Mumbai Film Festival (MFF).
The last show of the day, the film began at 8 pm yesterday, but movie buffs started queueing up at 6. Despite that, many had to be turned away due to unavailability of seats.
The film, starring Clooney and Ryan Gosling, is based on a play by Beau Willimon and takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary. Gosling plays an idealist young press secretary, who is soon pulled into the dirty world of politics, where nothing is what it seems.
The title refers to the day Roman statesman Julius Caesar was assassinated.
It is Clooney`s fourth film as a director after 2002 `Confessions of a Dangerous Mind`, `Good Night and Good Luck` and `Leatherheads`.
