Davida, I’m sorry but I have to disagree! Well... my sister-in-law makes the upper end of six figures as an attorney... There are plenty of women that make as much or more than the D-listers. It sounds like you entertain the wrong crowd! You should broaden your horizon and start talking/interviewing women CEO’s, CFO’s and women business owners! A high majority of them make a heck of a lot more money than a “model” that shows up at a night club!

And GQ, I don't know what your're talking about.

davidarochelle wrote:Oh-oh. Am I not being clear again, and thus getting myself into trouble? I was just trying to explain that women today have many different expectations of men and relationships. I was raised extremely old-fashioned and traditionalist, in that almost all bad behavior from a man is to be excused. I know that there are many other women in the US and the world that might want to be equal to a man but are not self-sufficient. Others see marriage more of an economic partnership than a relationship of friends. Of course there are plenty of modern women in both Hollywood and Las Vegas, and some are very focused on their careers. I'm just saying that some of the highest paying jobs girls get are based on their looks. Nightclubs pay models just to show-up and "decorate" the place. And yes, many complain about the shallowness of it all and the total lack of values. Davida-Rochelle

Where was you old-fashioned upbringing held? What is traditional about excusing a man's bad behavior? Old-fashioned and traditional behavior doesn't excuse anyone's bad behavior. Doesn't matter who you are or where you are, bad behavior (screwing, sleeping around, orgies, just sex (w/o love) is just that, bad behavior and there is no good excuse for it.
Women have always been self-sufficient, they run households, raise children, and provide a loving environment for their husbands. Those women who choose not to marry live very self-sufficient lives too. They have careers, many successfully achieving influential status, others doing their best in less desirable positions. There is no excuse for marrying for economic partnership-more bad behavior all around.

There are many modern women who feel self-sufficient enough to have both a successful loving marriage and have and maintain a very successful career.

There are and have always been women whose life evolves around their pretty faces, gorgeous bodies and this will always be the way of the world. They may be models, actresses, waitresses, exotic dancers, call girls, but they all know that "beauty sells" and as long as someone is buying, they are the commodity. Once that beauty fails, and it will and does too rapidly, they will then learn to be self-sufficient to survive.

If a "good" girl is willing to have sex with him, and has sex with him, is she still a "good" girl? Having sex with her shouldn't "hurt" her, just make her "one of his girls".

Yes, but she would still remain a "good girl" if she hasn't had a sordid past. Nor flaunted herself in semi-pornographic material or other compromising photos readily available all over the internet for anyone to access.

6 months in Clooney years is probably about 2 for most anyway. First 3 you think each other is perfect and have hot sex every night. Last 3 you drift apart you start to see each others faults and it's over! You can extend it by going away a lot and just showing up every few weeks for some hot sex though. Goodluck Melbert! LOL

Melbert, you absolutely must stay in bed and do positively nothing but cleanse for days so you can prepare properly for G. Dexterdidit says you are to expect hot xxx every night with G? Girl, that is not nearly enough. Now you don't want him thinking even a little bit about anyone else, right? You must leave him physically exhausted morning, noon (quickies between his high level meetings), and late night. The poor man is under a tremendous amount of stress, to say nothing of his constant physical pain. And you want to help him stay trim by getting plenty of exercise, right Melbert? I find it funny that every time he starts dating a new girl the press has to wonder if he is finally going to settle down.

I have to think the answer will always be no, until we hear differently from George himself. He is incredibly honest that he does not want marriage or children. He has always been very honest about that. If a woman thinks she can change him. They are mistaken. You cannot change another person.

These girls know exactly what will happen and lets be honest. Georges girl of the moment is a great time. That is why he will never run out of pretty girls who are interested.

And lets face it - it gives us something to chat about Very Happy

Incredibly honest?
Giggle...
To me there's nothing honest about that, it's just the way he likes it.
It's the "my way or highway" thing, n'est-ce pas?
When I say, I do not like green apples, only the red, am I being honest to the red apples or to the green apples?
Also I think it is a little nasty to say that again and again especcially in public. Imagine you are in love with somebody, you don't want to hear this old record, wether you want to have children or not.

He is honest in that he doesn't lead anyone on. Yes, it is his way or the highway, but he's honest and above board about it. If you love somebody and already know this "fact", you should be able to ignore the verbage, because you already have "set your mind to accepting that fact that he is not going to marry you or give you any babies. Perhaps, if a woman accepted these facts as the "final answer", she might win the ultimate prize, an everlasting partnership or relationship, if you will, with the man she loves.

When you love somebody, you DO accept all facts and what is coming with your partner, but to me it would be somehow disrespectful and painful to hear my partner say in public things like that, it's not needed. Love is a very strong feeling and you should never say never.
As I do not want to marry and even avoid a serious relationship at the moment, I cannot exclude this forever, bc sometimes It happens . ...

It's Me, by "deadly alone" are you stating him being without a woman by his side in his old age? Maybe that isn't important to him. He's doing what he loves and will continue doing it for as long as he wants or is able to do. He's got his dear friends and family around him. He cares for and probably financially "takes care of" many people, and his true friends are there for him. Settling down as the title asks, isn't for everyone. And why should he just "settle" for someone for fear of being alone? Not everyone "needs" a spouse to grow old with. As stated here and on many other threads, George does what George wants to do. He is very intelligent and knows what he's doing. We may not agree with what he's doing, and except for seemingly minor little changes in his last couple relationships, he is still doing what George does. That is why I am here every day. I appreciate everybody's input and opinions and choose not to engage in the "bickering". We all have opinions on what we want for and from George. I still love him...

Just read this on ContactMusic and didn't know whether to put it here or on Stacy's thread. Decided here. I think they're going to come out with these repeat stories more and more the longer Stacy keeps up the "love" stories.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

George Clooney says he has never had any desire to become a father - because he's too dedicated to his career and wouldn't be able to give children the attention they need.

George Clooney never wants to become a father - because he's too dedicated to his career.

The 'Descendants' actor - who is currently dating former wrestler Stacy Keibler - has never had any desire to have children as he knows he wouldn't be able to make them his priority.

The 50-year-old star - who was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993 - said: "I've always known fatherhood wasn't for me. Raising kids is a huge commitment and has to be your top priority. For me, that priority is my work. That's why I'll never get married again."

And it seems those around him agree that George wouldn't make a good father.

Amara Miller, who plays his daughter in 'The Descendants', said: "He wouldn't be good as a father. George has fun being an adult and I don't think he'd like having kids."

George also revealed he has no plans to dye his greying hair and is embracing it instead.

He told Australia's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I hear all this talk about how grey I'm becoming, but I can't imagine ever dyeing my hair. My dad has a full head of white hair and I think it looks pretty good."

George and his PR should STOP making these statements!!! OK, so we've heart it... and we believe it... so does the rest of the world... and we believe that George ALSO REALLY believes in it!!! Really!!! Very Happy

BUT It ALSO clearly shows that George NEVER really understood parenting then... or that his Father/Mother/Parents together, never really helped him understand the "honour"+"fulfillment" from it!!! Like the other "Fathers" have never really produced GOOD FRUIT from their labour, BESIDES being a "Father"... Ha!

It just shows that George's preference/priority is sex... has the time just for "fun"... "adult fun"... something that the little lady Amara picked out straight... Very Happy

Perhaps, Pari, but I don't think it's true. I think George does understand the concept of parenting, but doesn't feel that he has the need for "fulfillment" and doesn't want to be one of those Fathers who don't produce Good Fruit. He realizes the amount of time that he'd have to devote to fatherhood and is afraid that he'd fall short because of his commitment to his work and career. He has no desire to be a bad or absent parent. Growing up, his father was always there to guide him. He doesn't feel that he'd be able to give the time he feels is necessary to successfully guide his child. Don't you think this is a better plan than banging out kids and leaving them to live a fatherless existence, albeit, a well endowed existence, with only a mother. He doesn't want to take the chance and I personally applaud his decision. He might make a wonderful father and be able to give all that his father gave him, but what if he can't. Would it be fair to a child not to have that gift of time with his father?

Oh no NO Pattygirl... I meant to say that that quote put in that "story" clearly shows a George... an understanding of George... that he NEVER really understood the goodness of parenting... etc... Smile See!!! I don't explain very well hahahhahaaa Smile Besides, little Amara's comment is compelling, especially IF you look at it from that plane of ref! Smile

Most times, a man ACCEPTS parenting / fatherhood / etc... ONLY when he has found someone he is confident enough to live it with, to share that phase with him... IF he has no confidence... he shows it with using a condom Very Happy OUCH!!! That is basic! Smile WHY do you think some women HATE condoms while others simply LOVE it Very Happy HAHAHAHHAAHHAHAA

Just jokering Pattygirl... there will always be some George mysteries I guess... ONLY his destiny will FINALLY tell us what the truth really is... Smile

This is part of the reason I like George instead of bowing to the masses pretending he wants to be a dad etc he openly admits he wouldn't be good at it and doesn't want to do it. That too me shows some maturity and knowing who he is and what he is capable of. Parenting is hardwork and George knows he would choose his work over a child and doesn't want that. Nick Clooney worked very hard and I can't help but feel that George's own childhood is one of the reasons he has decided this. They moved a lot, Nick changed jobs and would have had to worked very hard to do the things he achieved. He did try and involve his family but he couldn't all the time. Also being a father back in those days was more about earning the money while mum's role was to look after the kids. While they are close now going by past interviews I don't think Nick and George always had an easy relationship. Maybe these stories keep coming out to remind Stacy not to get too comfortable afterall she has said she wants to be a stay at home mum which is the polar opposite to what George wants. That alone limits her time with George!

I always thought that for a time G and his dad had a rough relationship. It always puzzled me that even now G is always talking about his father. It seems like he is still trying to impress and get the praise he may have been denied when he was younger.

OR it's his own issues he's dealing with and doing it in the best manner he knows how. Things we choose to do in life sometimes disappoint our parents at one time or another. Maybe George wants his Dad to know he's striving to live up to his potential!

When I said, "he's striving to live up to his potential!" I meant George's potential, not his Dad's! And no matter what you say, It's Me, we all, if we have good parents, want to make them proud of us. There's no getting around it!

Maybe these stories keep coming out to remind Stacy not to get too comfortable afterall she has said she wants to be a stay at home mum which is the polar opposite to what George wants. That alone limits her time with George!

i am one year younger than George, and I was born-and-bred, and lived my entire life in Cincinnati. I saw the Nick Clooney phenomenon when it was going on here in the 1960's through the 1980's. Nick Clooney was a local celebrity (talk show host, game show host, news anchor, radio personality, and fundraiser personality). Nick was the Cincinnati equivalent of an "A-Lister." He was the most popular and well-loved celebrity in the area. If you wanted to have a local celebrity make an appearance for your fundraiser, Nick Clooney was the celebrity of choice.

Nick had a public image to maintain, kind of like a rockstar, movie star and teen idol all in one. He had to be the absolutely perfect family man, as well as public figure. So, he created, and lived up to that image.

Nick would go the extra two miles for anyone, champion the underdog, defend the oppressed, and challenge the overbearing, as part of his persona, and he raised George to be same way, too. It was expected of George to have those personality characteristics. So, George had some big shoes to fill, socially.

I have met Nick and Nina personally. They are charming folks who will treat everyone they meet like their neighbor, and, you would want them to be your neighbors. They will go out of their way to make you feel right at home with them. But, they are forces to be dealt with, so, don't cross them, or mistreat/disrespect anyone, or you will have to deal with them.

Nick is a friendly, easy-going man, but, if you had to work for him, he would be a demanding, nothing-but-the-best boss. He probably put poor George through the wringer while George was working at his father's TV studio in the 1970's.

George also had the social issue of being referred to as, "Nick Clooney's son." So, after spending one year at Northern Kentucky University, he worked for two years at various odd jobs, saved up his money, packed his worldly belonings into his 1976 Monte Carlo car, and left Augusta, Kentucky for Hollywood, California. He was tired of walking in his dad's shadow and influence, so he wanted to prove to himself and the rest fo the world that he could be successful in his own right, and call his own shots, too.
