For me he is missing nothing but I only know what I read in the press. I think you would need to spend time to get know him to see what he is truly like. As for the perfect partner to me there is no such thing as perfect good for me and right for me yes perfect no.

I agree, it's me, the right one for one only. There is one someone (maybe not perfect) for each of us. Whether we find that someone is never sure. We try, and many fail and try again and again. Others find what they're looking for and make every effort to create a perfect relationship. Perhaps the right woman could do that for and with George.

Well… for me, George is missing!
But seriously, I agree with you both. There is someone for George. Sometimes it takes years to find them. I really think his life, creativity and happiness will increase with the “right one”. I’ve seen his stress level rise during the Eli relationship and knew they were not right for each other. And Stacy is, IMHO, not right for him either. She likes to party and he has ulcers. It doesn’t bode well. It will not be the healthiest relationship for him. Poor George… Quit playing the partier and get a life, will ya! Laughing

I think he has been so hurt that he is not looking for the girl he would be with long term. He is either guilty about the pain he inflicted or he does not feel that he deserves another chance. So he keeps playing the field. (I know a couple of guys like this....)

Maybe he feels that he'd "fail" again. Remember what he said in Jan. interview w/ Piers Morgan and his father. He'd been married, and we could see how well he did. Also that you only get one shot at it, and he'd had his.

It's easy to fall in and out of love. If you fail to put any effort into the affair, after you fall in love, tend it, nurture it, extend yourself far into it, falling out of love is inevitable. Sad

So true, Pattygirl! You must tend it, nurture it, and extend yourself into it or it will fail. Not meaning that you have to go above and beyond what comes natural but you have to let the person you’re in love with know that they mean a lot to you regardless of the circumstances. I really don’t think George is that naive to think he doesn’t need to do anything to keep a woman. Perhaps his relationships are real and he’s been burned a few times. And he’s probably burned a few himself. Knowing the Hollywood atmosphere… To succeed in “life” you must be grounded and George says that’s what his friends do for him. Thank God he has friends!

Post by pattygirl on Fri Sep 23 2011, 15:44

Yes, cindy, thank God he has his friends. He treasures them and even listens to their advice. Oh, his relationships are real enough, but perhaps as deep as could be. We know that he is kind, gentle and caring. He's a giving man, not particularly selfish. His charm, combined with these other attributes can easily grab at a woman and make her fall for him. No, George isn't naive and I'm sure does do much to try to "keep" the woman. Maybe, the woman, after a while, doesn't reciprocate in like manner. These women are, I'm sure, very charming and pleasing at the start, but maybe after a while, they change their tune a bit, and just become "pleasing". Let's face it, women can be sweet, in order to get "the guy", and then once they've got him, off come the gloves, and they get pushy and bossy and try to rule the roast. Really can't picture George letting any woman get away with that. Once they're only "pleasing",especially in bed, perhaps that's when they're out the door. A man can and will screw any woman, but there are not too many that take kindly to being led around by the balls. This is MVHO. When the charm is gone and only screwing remains, it can no longer be called "love".

True, Patty and Cindi, very true. Sex can be used as a weapon, too. Only where there is true love between a man and a woman, sex is the ultimate bond, and it good. When sex is used as a weapon for personal gain, it is very emotionally deadly. That is why sex without real love is called, "screwing." Lesson learned, ladies, do not blow smoke up George Clooney's butt.

I think George really likes his life the way it is he doesn't want children . There is no reason he has to have any he has a niece and nephew also god children so he is not lacking when it comes to children not everyone wants to be a parent. I am quite glad that he is honest about not wanting to be married he did it and feels he isn't good at it he knows himself. I do hope that he finds a lady to have a committed and long lasting relationship with one day though.

The man's 50, not 15. He knows himself and he knows what he is and is not capable of. He's old enough to know what he wants out of life and from women. He's living exactly the life he wants to.

pattygirl I definitely disagree with what he says in that Piers Morgan interview. I think his comment that you only get one shot at it is bullshit. What he wants is an easy relationship. Sometimes to make something work you've got to withstand some pain, learn to work thru it, forgive and move past it - together. That's where George fails. When the going gets tough - George leaves.

That tells me in some respects he's a coward. Easier to leave than to risk really taking a hit.

Well, here's what I say to George - stop hiding behind your "I'll never get married again" comment and take a chance with a real woman who won't put up with your crap.

There are plenty of kind, happy, positive, fun-loving, intelligent and damn good looking women out there who don't carry any baggage like being ex-soft porn stars or nun-mocking, tit baring idiots. '

But if your only criteria for a woman is how she'll look on the red carpet and if you can check out her tits and ass on the internet before you buy -- then you're never going to meet the type of quality woman that you could.

So stop looking in the second hand barrel at Goodwill and pick a better class of broad. Cause until you do all you're going to get is a hand-me-down woman and the second-class go nowhere relationship that comes with her.

Re: What is missing from George to be the man dreams of a woman?

Post by Dexterdidit on Sat Sep 24 2011, 07:52

Exactly. I have always thought that George chooses his women because he knows exactly what he is getting and he doesn't want anymore. Any other woman would demand attention and not be at his beck and call. The Bette's and Stacy's are more then willing to play the game cause they want the attention. I think they fall in love with a version of George but not the real George. I think he only shows the parts he is willing to share with those types of women and that is why they aren't around when he is sick etc. George knows he isn't going to marry these girls and he knows there will be an ending down the track. But he is fine with that it's if he ever dates a woman of substance, classy etc that it will be a very different type of relationship and would probably last a lot longer. George however is in no hurry for that and it could be years or maybe never before he is. At the moment he is married to his work then comes his friends and family then maybe comes women. But I have yet to see him put any woman first in his life! Why wouldn't he be happy he gets to sleep with these hot women but still be very much the bachalor and do what he wants when he wants with no one to please but himself. What's not to be happy about?

"What's not to be happy about?"

Inner Peace... You can never commit yourself to the cause of Peace if you do not have peace within your soul.

Post by melbert on Sat Sep 24 2011, 16:16

OK, big mouth stepping in again!! Cinderella, we do not know that George does or does not have "inner peace" in his soul. What Katie has stated for as long as I've known her - maybe George dates who he dates because he WANTS to. Dex's paragraph is right on. We've seen George's face in the gazillion of photos over the years with and without girlfriends. He's looked happy and unhappy in both situations. We're not beside him, in his head, around him constantly, so WE DO NOT KNOW what he wants. He seems so happy when he's talking about his work, involved in his work, around his friends, etc. Sometimes not so happy with the tart of the month. Who knows. Not everyone in life wants a committed relationship and/or kids. *raising hand cowering in the corner*

It's the story about George and stacy about 4th or 6th subject down. In comments, I think it starts somewhere in the 40's with cindigirl being PR correspondent, then comes Cinderella as Kristie Alley. I'm the last (for now) but I started it by calling Stan out. I got the fulltime vocation. It was fun to do, and really no harm, no foul.

Kirstie tweeted about seeing George out at his low-key birthday (she was there with Kelly P), and the IMDb "people" knew that Eli and her mafia PR put Kirstie up to tweeting that George was there and he really wasn't because Eli and George were no longer together since December, blah, blah, blah.

If George and Ely were no longer together since December because they spent the Christmas and New Year's Eve in Cabo with her parents? Why she has presented evidence for the Sanremo late and only at the end of January (he had malaria)? Why has brought to Kentucky by his parents as he walked around the Ides of March? Why was the set? Why have occurred hand in hand in Milan? Because she said in an interview in April that he had gone back to Covent horse park in London while he was spinning GRAVITY? Why am I arrived at Villa Oleandra together? Explain that!

What is missing from George? He is an unwilling life partner. In other words, he's not willing to do what is required to stay together for the long haul, which includes dealing with conflict and meeting someone else's needs at the expense of your own.

IMO, he's also fickle.......
