HA HA HA AHAAAA Pattygirl!!! Oh I am excited because it IS CLOSER home, no doubt! But then, I do love Hong Kong Love the drive into the CBD from the Airport... the way the whole place is infrastructured... Oh WOW!!! And the people there are global too... cherish some sweet memories although I have only visited and have never really lived there...

CLSA to host George Clooney at 18th CLSA Investors’ Forum

Hong Kong – Monday, 29 August, 2011 – CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets (“CLSA”), Asia’s leading independent brokerage and investment group, will host celebrated actor, producer, screenwriter, director, and human rights activist George Clooney at the 18th CLSA Investors’ Forum in Hong Kong from 19-23 September, 2011.

In a conversation with CLSA clients over lunch on Wednesday, 21 September, Clooney will discuss his career, life outside Hollywood, activism and his Africa human rights and peace promotion work including the Satellite Sentinel Project which as recently as 24 August 2011 published evidence of two new mass graves around the disputed border area of South Sudan.

Clooney conceived of the Satellite Sentinel Project in 2010 during a visit to Sudan with human rights activist, best-selling author and Enough Project co-founder John Prendergast. Together, they have successfully lobbied for a peaceful referendum for South Sudan, now the world’s newest nation after its secession from Sudan. Clooney also co-founded the Darfur aid organisation Not On Our Watch with Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Don Cheadle in 2007.

Clooney headlines more than 30 keynote and specialist speakers scheduled to present at the CLSA Investors’ Forum, including Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and President, Timor-Leste H.E. Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta; authors and journalists Ahmed Rashid and Peter Bergen; American political philosopher Michael Sandel; historian Ian Morris; and Google APAC president Daniel Alegre. John Prendergast, will join Clooney in Hong Kong.

The CLSA Investors’ Forum will be attended by more than 1,500 institutional investors from 30 countries and more than 300 senior executive from 200 listed companies. The full line up of speakers will be announced over the coming weeks.

Financial brokerage CLSA Asia-Pacific is using star power to spice up its 18th Investors' Forum in Hong Kong.
Yesterday, Oscar-winning actor and human rights activist George Clooney, pictured, delivered a keynote speech to 1,700 institutional investors from 40 countries, along with 600 senior executives from more than 200 listed companies in Asia, Australia and the United States.

Two years ago, former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin addressed the crowd at the forum.

Tomorrow night, the investment house is hosting a gala party, with pop singer Christina Aguilera as special guest. The forum ends on Friday.

For the most part George's life is an open book, that we keep rereading, each time finding out some new tidbit or facet. He s very forthcoming with those parts of his life. Would love to "hear" his interview, not just read about it.
