The sexiest man in Ireland -- Joe O'Shea -- offers George Clooney some relationship advice.

You might think that George Clooney needs advice about women in the same way that Bill Gates is desperate for tips on how to ride out the recession.

Even at 50, there is not a man alive on this planet who can rival George when it comes to beguiling the fairer sex.

Which makes his chequered relationship history and his latest choice in girlfriend material all the more intriguing. And a little worrying.

The actor / director / dreamboat was pictured this week, walking out with former pro-wrestler Stacy Keible.

Already a statuesque 5ft11in in her bare feet, the Amazonian American actress and model towered over George in her heels.

Newspapers and internet gossip sites gleefully carried pictures of Ms Keibler standing a good head taller than Clooney as they exited a film première arm-in-arm.

And there was plenty of commentary on her 42-inch legs and how the paparazzi photos, shot from an angle that tended to highlight the differences in their respective heights, looked a little off.

Which was a little unfair on both George and his latest amour.

Hollywood has a very long history of diminutive leading men who have been very touchy about their height -- Tom Cruise and Sylvester Stallone, for example.

By walking out with a girl who towers over him, George is showing the world that he is comfortable enough in his own ego to ignore the old-fashioned idea that men should always be taller than their partners.

But by dating a former professional wrestler -- Stacy was part of the WWE show for six years -- what is Clooney telling us about his attitude to relationships?

Since his 1995 divorce from wife of four years Talia Balsam, Clooney has dated several models, a cocktail-waitress-turned reality-TV-star and most recently, the Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis.

George likes to be seen as one of the smarter people in Hollywood -- he has directed, written and starred in serious, issue-heavy movies such as Good Night and Good Luck and the upcoming political drama The Ides Of March. And the heart-throb actor has also campaigned on such real-life issues as the genocide in Darfur.

But he is also seen as a commitment-phobe, a guy who tends to date reality TV stars, glamour-girls, cocktail waitresses and now, a former WWE 'Ring Diva' who found fame by grappling on pay-per-view cable.

It might be unfair to suggest that the wrestler-turned-actress is not suitable girlfriend material for Hollywood's smartest and classiest A-lister.

The problem could be that George just prefers to date glamour girls who are easy on the eye and not likely to make too many demands.

If so, somebody close to Clooney may need to take him aside and tell him that, at 50, he can only outrun a serious, committed relationship for so long before it starts to get sad.

He is still Gorgeous George. But as aging lotharios like Jack Nicholson have shown us, there comes a point where you need to stop chasing cocktail waitresses and find yourself a real woman.

That's his fantasy. And he lives it out.

To George, sex feels better when it's "dirty" & no strings attached.
Easy to walk away.... and he pays them off.

He'll never change.

The only possibility is if ever, there's the remote chance that he may accidentally, unexpectedly fall in love.

George Clooney, more than likely, will spend the rest of his life in a string of these meaningless "flings" with what the media & general public perceives as dirty, trashy bimbos.

As he gets older, though, the age gap will widen because the single, party-girl bimbo image only has a life-span of up to 32.

Yes, he is ridiculous in the eyes of the world.
But this is what he wants. We can't judge him. Some people are not romantic nor need nor seek love or a soulmate.

He does his thing with charm and grace, and while some may think him ridiculous, his behavior is generally accepted because he doesn't have a string of girls, just one at a time.

I get the impression that he may be fundamentally romantic, but resists it. And he deliberately selects these women as his partners for 1-2 years.

It's getting ridiculous & people scoff at him. Just looks so mismatched with Stacy. Tweets that saw them kissing at the party, claimed it looked fake or there was no chemistry.

Lack of tenderness in all photos. No PDAs like people in love.

That video of them "kissing" from Splash might not be her nor anyone kissing. It looks like someone with short hair leaning in, saying a joke in Clooney's ear, then moving back and both laughing.

Bottom line is, she's promoted as his girlfriend.

And as Ted C stated, Clooney definitely is behind this publicity stunt to announce Stacy as his girlfriend.

Go figure! You'd think he'd want to clean his image up to be taken more seriously on his Oscar campaign.

While I agree that G's dating pattern is getting very tired and slightly clownish, IMO I don't think it will affect his Oscar campaign. The movie industry votes and who among them hasn't dallied in some way?

George is essentially a very smart individual, so if he is choosing to be clownish and silly, what's the harm? It's not really hurting anyone, is it? SK has to be in on the joke, as any of his girls is. Even though I said if I had to choose sides between Eli and Stacy, that I’d choose Stacy… I don’t think this is the smartest move for George. They look ridicules together and he’s going to end up being the laughing stock in Hollywood. It is time for him to get serious and settle down a little… not meaning his antics or personality, just his choices in women and his personal image. From what he says, he wants to focus mainly on being a director … Well, if that’s the case, then every 20-32 year old that’s unknown in his movies will be looked upon as, well… you get the picture….

I'll never understand why he let Stacy invade his TIFF red carpet. That is, if it was his choice. His man Stan may have had something to do with her appearance. Truthfully I think she looked like one of those models you see in the car shows. She doesn't fit in with his persona at all.
